Is this game a masterpiece? No, It is a slow paced, easy action adventure, with a narrator constantly telling the story at every step you take. Like a voiced visual novel, but you control the main character directly in an isometric world, and you fight stronger and stronger enemies. The combat is well made - you cannot avoid it, because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Tale of Bistun is based on an old Persian poem, yet a charming story with equal parts passion and tragedy, in the game you are a stonemason who wakes up with no memory of where he is or who he is, and the only thing that guides him is a mysterious bird that takes him from one place to another. The revelation of the man's identity will, of course, be broken down over the course of the journey. Watch a short gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rneMQeZdRZ8
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes you don't need to take a big step when you're an indie dev and want to make your first game. Black Cube Games prove it with The Tale of Bistun. It has some problems in terms of the combat system but overall keeps me entertained thanks to its enemy and level designs. Also, if you're starving for an epic story, The Tale of Bistun is a good option for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Based on a famous Persian tale of love and tragedy, The Tale of Bistun does a great job in terms of direction and narrative. I love the dev's take on the origin story and taking it to the next level. However, The Tale of Bistun combat system lacks the depth and complexity in design, that makes the game repetitive in some cases. Overall, I would recommend this game to those who are interested in Persian folklore and crave for good storytelling and narrative.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple short game with an admirable narration, art, environment design and music which were based on an old Persian story. The combat system was too easy but overall, it was an enjoyable game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →visaul and story was amazing but the gameplay and fights are so simple after a while makes you tired.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of my favorite Iranian games. From beginning to end, just beautiful music and art.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful walking simulator disguised as a fighting game with one-dimensional combat mechanics. Action RPG fans, steer clear of this one, unless you know what you are getting yourself into! Audio/visual: 8/10 Story: 6/10 Gameplay: 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game : Beautiful ✅ art : Beautiful ✅ soundtrack : Beautiful ✅ fight : weak and simple ❌ The galaxy in the game is more beautiful than the picture taken by James Webb ❤️😁
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story! The combat is somewhat lackluster but everything else makes up for it. I was so invested in finding out what was going to happen next. The visuals are great where they needed to be. Keep in mind the game has narration throughout, there isn't a moment to yourself. Also, you're lead around by a bird, it's very linear. I don't find either of these things to be a problem though. I really enjoyed this one Full video review, https://youtu.be/DuDso6FFE4A
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fix the price. its a good game but now not worth the money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good art style, music and sound the game is really short and can be done in less than 3 hours the combat is serviceable at best, really simple overall it's a very short average game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Poor gameplay, the game is too repetitive in the first 3 hours, the Level design is too simple, and is just a walking simulator with no action in the beginning, it gets evolved after each level. The only moment I felt the game is getting dope was the 10-20 minutes after you've upgraded both your weapons and enemies variety gets pretty decent (And I'm not paying $18 for a quarter an hour of gameplay value for sure). The hammer in the Bistun boss fight is too slow and frustrating, I hated it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Polished game for an indie studio. The game is fun with the narration and drives you to continue until the end. Only thing that is not so fun is the combat system, but at least it has variety and different enemies. It was great to see that the game launched supporting Persian subtitles. The Persian music and soundtracks are amazing and help to enjoy your playthrough. Art style and environment design is really good in my opinion and I was surprised of some sections. Great job Black cube games.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the art and storyline keep up iranian devs :))
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting story. I think it can continue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected more from the game that has been worked on for 5 years, but overall it was ok. The story of the game was interesting and the voice of Shohreh Aghdashloo made it more attractive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Persia carries the weight of timeless legends — stories carved into the soul of history, yet too often left in silence and shadow. It fills me with pride to see small, passionate teams breathe life back into these forgotten tales through their creations. And it brings me true joy knowing that, through their art, the world can finally hear whispers of the myths that once echoed through the heart of Persia.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly Recommend A simple short game with an admirable narration, art, environment design and music which were based on an old Persian story. I saw nothing but beauty. This is one of my favorite Iranian games. From beginning to end .
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you ever read one of those old folk tales or myths? The stories are all mostly familiar to us in one way or another, but have you ever actually read one of them? Quite often, they read really poorly. They are tangential, they focus a ton on stuff that doesn't really matter, they prescribe importance to things that are not important and tend to just drone on and on. Pacing is a huge problem with these old stories, and especially in the age of Tiktok, slow stuff told in a boring manner does…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played a little bit so far, but of what I have seen so far this game looks absolutely amazing! I really do love a game what Is based on mythology and magic! For me this feel like a game that I could lose hours in and just play and relax. the music and the Story is really nice of what I seen so far, and the artistry and details look really nice! so I can't wait to play more and see what the games holds!! :) So I am really grateful for receiving a game key to be able to play this!…

neutral · AI labelView post →The game isn't that much of an impact but if you like Farhad and Shirin tale and you want an amusing plot with a decent gameplay I recommend this game, because the time to beat it isn't that long for it to become boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →boring, you'll fall asleep with the music waiting for the next boss' move
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →30tl game and was not worth it! and now u gotta pay 120tl? for this game? with no combat no fun and no creativity! I mean ok u guys worked 5 years for this, so what? u work hard to make a good thing or a bad thing it does not matter the work! this game is not good not worth and now with the changing price Im like who did this? the proud iranians and content creators? yea yea yea im proud we got this trash game at this price ffs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saw nothing but beauty. Brilliant indie game...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very interesting story based on Persian mythology. Simple but fun gameplay and combat. Beautifully designed and crafted with smooth animations, brilliant voice acting, and incredible music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Tales of Bistun was enjoyable throughout. There is a nice combination of story to puzzle to combat and the length of each 'Level' is appropriate. The combat is not tough, you can challenge yourself by stacking enemies or just kill them as they spawn. The story is reasonable and the end is a nice 'Twist?' Very much looking forward to whatever comes next, will play any sequel. GG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has an unique and exciting experience with a beautiful story and the music that will drive you crazy! Those who are looking for a game with an original and romantic story from the land of thousands years old Persia, you should definitely experience this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5.5/10 While showing a lot of potential, Tale of Bistun overall is slow-paced and kinda boring with a large amount of design problems and is definitely far from polished. The first hour of the game is horrible, the voice acting in that section is so bad, Controls are awkward and slow (and they won’t get fixed later on, you just get used to it), everything seems so random and out of context, at the start even dialogues are bad. When you get past that part a few other types of enemies are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't understand what they were going for here. This game suffers from an identity crisis that could have easily been avoided. I really was interested in this game from the moment I learnt about its development but after playing it I am just disappointed. Nothing makes sense, from the story to the game play loop, to the music, to the world building to gameplay mechanics. Such a missed opportunity. Such a shame. The biggest insult here in my opinion is the music. Even Prince of Persia…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is related to the mythology of Iran and narrates the story of Shirin and Farhad; the story is narrated linearly with a narrator. It is a good game and it is worth to experience and also this group needs a lot of support so that they can gain more experience in this field and I hope they continue to improve. The music of the game was wonderful and completely Iranian, the game camera had no problem and did not bother, and most of the game goes towards the narration of the story rather…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm on my good side that I don't give a negative review just for the few but awful problems. Overall It's a short and good game with a sad mythological story about a man who carved a mountain for his love. Gameplay is simple but it's neither bad or good. The camera angle is so freaking awful and combined with locked camera it's sooooo annoying. The final boss is bad, there are two cutscenes there that are not necessary, the Bistun is so slow, the hammer is very bad that many times it doesn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I definitely do not recommend the game!. It's generally beautiful, the voice acting is good enough, and it has a simple storyline (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Persian tragedy). The main story with Farhad made no sense at all:/ The game felt nothing, monotonous and boring, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walking simulator. Specifically, it was ridiculously non-challenging:\. Most of it feels like I'm watching a movie but need to click where the game tells me every minute or so. There is no real battle! It's - clicks here, click…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start by saying I'm Iranian so obviously I was super excited for this game and I might be a tad biased but I will write a fair review regardless. I wholeheartedly adore this game and recommend it to anyone who is interested in Iran's history and culture. The game has a beautiful and surprising twist on the original story by Nizami Ganjavi, however this twist is a welcome one and one that enhances the game's storytelling elevating it to a more enjoyable especially in this medium. The…

positive · AI labelView post →Hi, This game is basically 1 hours of walking around listening to the narrator while you just hold down the walking buttons. Do not expect much other than this game it has occasional combat which is also not great. The combat is just simple atack deal damage, dodge to avoid it 1 skill to activate. Combat is also not difficult. The story is not interesting enough to follow it to the end. There is not much to say about it because there is not much in it. I cannot recommend this game at any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice job i recommend this game amazing story with loyalty and respect to main story from nezami
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the story, it's really rich especially with Shohreh Aghdashloo special voice. The game is really smooth. The art style is unique. absolutely worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an incredible feeling to be playing a game that has been inspired by a Persian tale. The game itself is very fun and easy to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a straightforward action-adventure with an aesthetically capturing environment and art. The story is compelling tragic adventure in search of well-known motifs such as remembrance, love and unity. Seeing authentic Persian weaponary, customs and architecture is a +1 for this game and those who dig eastern mythologies. The environments are pretty well made, beautiful with interesting details and the contrast between realms is an interesting expansion of game's universe. Combat is fun but a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing story and music
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story of the game is wonderful, so that sometimes the story of the game shocks you, this game is about the romantic and sad story of Farhad and Shirine, which is based on a love story written by Nezami Ganjavi in Persia, Apart from the story, the game had beautiful art and music. And the flaw that this game had that was mentioned in most of the comments was the combat system and the variety of weapons in the game, the game does not have many challenges in terms of combat and you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Read this review and others [url=https://www.indiecornergames.com/] here! The Tale of Bistun left me intrigued by its rather flashy appearance and the fact that in the trailer, you can hear the voice of actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, Chrisjen Avasarala in The Expanse series, narrating the events painted on the screen. Yes, first appearances can have some bearing on the final decision to play a title. This, for me, was definitely one of those cases. There are several cases of titles that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Tale of Bistun is an epic action adventure about love, sacrifice and salvation. The game is based on a 12th-century Iranian romantic poem by Nizami Ganjavi which tells the story of a mason (Farhad) who falls in love with a princess (Shirin). The story is top notch and implemented exactly by the team but on the other hand gameplay is the weakness . Combat is not the only downside of the gameplay in The Tale of Bistun. Repetition is another scourge of the game. You need to repeat 3 phases of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yawn , boredom is that you ? I had the feeling we were going to meet in here sorry I really didn't like the story (school project style ? double yawn) and gameplay is so so empty but still so many people can't beat the boss it seems oh my (seriously??) not impressed at all 'cause didn't had high expectations (I proudly bought a cheaper key fortunately was already 50% off) but I feel I could skip this no problem , I mean didn't make my videogames knowledge any deeper (will be soon forgotten)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Tale of Bistun has it all, story, graphics, sound, a demo to try before you buy and of course a great price point. While I sound like a broken record at times, trust me when I tell you this fast paced adventure game will leave you in awe! Tale of Bistun is a spectacular design and its immersive elements only help with the beautiful story-line which the developers have provided us. What are you waiting for get the demo and try it today! Blockhead APPROVED!!!…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun story!! It gets pretty intense!! I've been waiting a while for this one and I'm happy it released!! Gratz!! The design and set ups were pretty cool. I don't want to give spoilers but there were some narration effects that were really really cool looking. The camera angles really felt like they added visually to the game as well. I love all the shifts and transitions! In some areas I feel that the art could have used more quality/polish (the one with the eye/constellations as an example).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics are really cool and i really liked the story and everything else
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well... First of all: It's an Honor for me to play this game at the relase Second: Let's talk about game. It's a beautiful story-rich game with a great Narration and even greater soundtracks. I like the game. my only problem about the game is combat-design and also i thing ending could "design" better. Otherwise everythings seems near Perfect I like the historical refrences like Hoopoes, pamegranate tree and Hourmazd. very nice details I Highly recommend the game. hope you enjoy it too.!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Persian Epic Carved in Stone A beautiful retelling of the legendary tragedy of Khosrow and Shirin, brought to life through breathtaking narration, a soul-stirring soundtrack, and a remarkable celebration of Iranian mythology and literary heritage. 8/10 Pros: Nizami's Voice: Having Nizami Ganjavi himself narrate the tale makes it all the more special—he is, after all, the original poet behind Khosrow and Shirin. It feels as though the very mind that gave birth to this legendary romance is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a nice game. A decent story. Walking simulator with some action. But game time... It not worth full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While a bit on the short side (a little over 3 hours for me), the game is interesting and fun. The combat is really basic and fairly easy (I never lost a single battle). The dodge is a life saver as you take no damage while dodging. There are two main weapons. They seem similar in damage but the special attack is unique. The final boss weapon is a slow cumbersome hammer but works well enough. The final boss battle is also fairly easy. I really like the graphic sytle as I am so sick of pixel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprisingly solid indie title based on a Persian folklore. I dont know much about the original story but from what can be gathered while playing the game is that it is based off a tragic romance type narrative. Incredibly well paced and the sprinkling of lore drops throughout the chapters will keep you invested. The narrator did a great job building things up and dare I say really helped carry an already awesome experience. Combat is short, simplistic and sweet, a bit repetitive but one…
