Some warn that the remaining player base is small and skilled, making it tough for newcomers. [1][2]

They abandoned this game. Don't get it unless you REALLY want it... GUN took our criticism to heart and started being really stupid. They started chucking pay to win characters in and stopped actually caring about the playerbase. Each character costs £7.50, which is INSANE by the way. That's repulsive. The rest of the characters are great, no need to pay for the dlc's. This game is incredibly fun... when there's no …

It's a great concept for a game and a fantastic tribute to the movie. The maps are incredibly detailed and atmospheric, and it's probably the closest any asymmetrical horror game has come to being a genuine rival to Dead by Daylight. The multiple escape routes add variety and challenge, and learning to navigate the maps is one of the game's biggest strengths. Unfortunately, there are a lot of negatives too. I've …

This masterpiece of a game should have never died the way it did and I will forever hate the devs for giving up on it

Just recently switched to Steam, but I have over 4,000+ Hours, 12,000+ kills, 700+ 4K's, and over 3,000+ escapes. This is arguably still the greatest Asymmetrical Horror game ever made. It's a shame that support was stopped and given up on so early in it's lifespan. However we are always holding out hope that they come back. 10/10 would always recommend.

ATTENTION ALL NEW PLAYERS!!! This game is a lot of fun but will be VERY DIFFICULT for you to come in now. The main player base that remains is DEDICATED and GOOD at the game, at least in terms of knowing where everything is and how to play with their preferred characters. Connie seems to be such a good character she is almost always picked but is the 'obsession" (dbd ref) of the characters able to open doors fast …

Critics, per Wikipedia
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre received "generally favorable" reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic for the Xbox Series X version, but the Windows and PlayStation 5 versions received "mixed or average" reviews. In his review of the pre-release version of the game, PC Gamer's Luke Winkle praised the game's horror elements and 1970s setting, stating it "mirrors the claustrophobia and creeping dread of the 1974 horror classic." Mark Delaney of GameSpot gave the game a 9/10, stating "the adaptation of one of the scariest movies ever made becomes one of the scariest games I've ever played". He praised the game's maps, music, and overall atmosphere, stating the game was "driven by…

positive · AI labelView post →This game was a genuinely good asymmetrical horror that captured the vibes of the movie in an excellent manner, but the developers have decided to abandon it needlessly to move on to another project. Do not buy any game with Gun Interactive's name on it, chances are it'll be dead before the two year mark once again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fine game but stopping support after less than three years on a live service game is insane, especially considering this already happened with friday the 13th. the next franchise they ruin will be Halloween. don't bother buying it, it will just be a waste of money

But unfortunately the Devs abandoned the game to go work on yet another game they will ditch, I wont be buying anymore of Guns products and I recommend you also don't unless you want to be disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant game, probably my favourite asymmetrical survival horror. But don't buy it, these devs have quite literally abandoned it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game. Unfortunately, due to GUN Media's incompetence, it was prematurely dropped in favor of other projects that ended up being short-lived. This game deserved better. It was the right game. Just in the wrong hands.

neutral · AI labelView post →The game itself is really fun. The detail and designs of the maps are fantastic. Also the 3v4 keeps things interesting. But the reason why I'm giving this a negative review is due to the toxic players that ruin the experience. Had my first game as a "family" and had my two team mates DC on me. The other players either kept constant looping or just stunned me with a lot of waiting time to recover. As I gave victims a go, As soon as I got out of the starting room, I had Leather face cut me down…

I am a huge fan of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre films, so this game should fit in my valley. The issue is finding a game takes forever, but when you get in, it's pretty fun! Negative review only because the game is barely hanging on by a thread in terms of player base.

neutral · AI labelView post →Diabolical that the devs have abandoned this game. In its peak it was huge fun but now the game is dead. Very unfortunate that Friday 13th had to be abandoned due to legal issues but for this game there was no excuse. Just a quick cash grab for a very unbalanced game. I hope they don't do the same for their next project (Halloween) but I will not be trusting this dev team again. I honestly thought this game needed more recognition than DBD at the beginning. Massive shame.
