I almost would recommend this for classic RE fans, as this is one of the closest things to a classic RE that you'll find. HOWEVER.... In a game with so scarce saving opportunities, an unstable game that can crash at any time is the last thing you want. This worst case scenario has happened to me enough times to leave it as is. Will come back to the game in a year or two.

This game definitely understood the assignment. If you're a survival horror fan you should definitely check it out. However, it IS an indie game, so it's pretty rough around the edges and you'll probably need to use a walkthrough to avoid walking in circles endlessly. The level design in particular is more of a nuisance than anything else. I get what they were trying to do, but it just doesn't work. In a survival horror or metroidvania style game the map feels rewarding and it makes sense. But…

I’ve picked up and dropped this game over the past four years, giving it multiple chances, and still never made it to the end. I thought it would be similar to Tormented Souls, but I was wrong. At this point, I can’t even remember the story anymore. The gameplay felt rough back then and hasn’t improved since. animations are awkward. Even on sale, I wouldn’t recommend it, just save your hard earned money and diskspace, there are plenty of better options out there. -Moth

Sideways Thumb. There is plenty of terrible shovelware on Steam of very short Resident Evil inspired horror games, but this one appears to be a proper length game that gets most of the basics right, it is fun here and there. I ended up dropping it when I made it to the garden section outside of the mansion. Why would every gate be locked by different coloured thingies, very unimaginative and generic key/door system out here. It was at least fathomable that inside the mansion that you…

Was having a great time until I ran into the same softlock in the garden area that several other people have. Game's difficulty is all over the place, as is the functionality of both its over the shoulder and fixed camera modes. For all the game's attempts to do everything at once, it seems none of these were tested properly.

AVOID THE FIXED CAMERA MODE I know about 90% of the people who play this game will play it in either Over the Shoulder or First Person, but for those like me who prefer the fixed camera perspective, just don't do it. The game is ridiculously hard and unbalanced around it. I'm a veteran of old school survival horror and I can usually do pretty well in them, but this game was just unbearable as the amount of zombies they put you up against, with how slow the movement is (I used tank controls),…

The game is fun, and if you like the classic Resident Evil formula of finding keys, notes, and other doodads all over the place to slowly explore a mansion then you'll likely enjoy this game. There is one HUGE caveat to that however. If you DO NOT like Resident Evil 0's inventory system, then be warned that this game copies it, except instead of two characters, you only have one character with a miniscule inventory. Dropping items on the floor is not only allowed, but expected. At around the…

Before the magic, portals, and the otherworld, it felt like the best indie RE clone. TLDR: This game is a 6/10. Full Version- This game borrows heavily from Resident Evil 1 and 4 especially, there's a lot of callbacks to those games, which is not a bad thing, it's quite humorous in fact, the story is quite good and the animations are hilarious(though not everyone will find them funny) The game took me about 8 hours to get through, the map wasn't too confusing, and for the most part the game was quite fun, could have used more weapons though. I'd recommend this game as a whole, but I cannot recommend the harder difficulties. Hard is incredibly difficult and there is a difficulty above that it took me 26 hours not including reloading a save to beat Hard on a poor rating let alone getting S let alone getting S on the hardest difficulty in which you basically have to be perfect to beat. I love the game, but if you want to play for enjoyment do it on normal or lower.

Are you looking for a Resident Evil game that's 2/3rds the price and made with 1/20th the budget? Well, look no further. It runs awful, the story is non-existent, the combat is boring, and the puzzles are... puzzles, I guess.

Kinda sucks. - zombies are bullet sponges, and there are ALOT OF THEM - i understand it's not a fps and ammo should be scarce but it's ridiculous. you have to kill 2 zombies usually to get to a 7-9 pistol ammo. guess how many shots it usually takes to kill a zombie? SEVEN. Also, sure you can avoid them sometimes but not in cramp spaces; - shooting heads sometimes staggers sometimes not, inconsistent; - inventory space is way too limited; - gave up when reaching the invisible/teleporting…

It is fun game. Beginning is very good. In the middle of the game story turns to some grey area - instead of horror it becomes mystic. But after few hours of gameplay you can get used to this turn of events. All in all it is good game - no bugs, interesting bosses, audio is OK. Story - it could have improvements, but it is as it is. So, this worth playing.

A fun survival horror romp! So I’ve been wanting to check out this game for a while and after some frustrating first attempts at playing, I finally sat down and played the game from start to finish. Them and Us, is a survival horror game heavily inspired by Resident Evil and it mostly succeeds at what it tries to do. But what did I think overall? Really good horror, resident evil style, indie game. One or two of the puzzles are confusing and I needed to look up the solution but most of them are pretty good. There are multiple endings and you can easily get a lacklustre one if you don't go the right path. But you don't have to play the entire game again to get the good ending and you get an additional hour of content if you want to. Graphics are average and performance is not great at times, dropping to 50 fps on occasion with a 7900xt…

I don't really understand the negative reviews, this is meant to be a classic throwback to old school Survival Horror. I really wanted to like this but was left completely dissatisfied. The general gameplay and combat is pretty good (I played with fixed camera) but the storytelling is done almost 100% through found notes and is so bad. Progression is run from one side of the gigantic map to the other and try items on puzzles or doors over and over. I'm guessing (hoping?) that playing through on NG+ actually gives you some sort of resolution or.....actual story? Because on my first playthrough there was nothing.

I am a sucker for survival horror games and this game definitely delivered. You'll get zombies, a creepy mansion, story delivered mainly through notes and a shotgun. The biggest differentiator from similar games is the ability to play in classic fixed camera, 3rd person and 1st person and also extra endings you can only get on repeated playthroughs. This is also my buggest gripe with the game - the first playthrough features too many locked doors, an alternative dimension and story concepts…

I really wanted to like this game, and I will say the beginning started of really strong. The first 4-5 hours of the game in the Mansion are really solid and I have no issues there. The Mansion is well designed and easy to navigate, most of the puzzles there are decent and only a couple of instances of that weird sense of collecting items and having no idea what to do with them. This game is a love letter to classic Resident Evil fans. To progress through the game, you need to solve little riddles and find key items that grant you access to new areas, in a similar fashion to pure survival horror Resident Evil titles. This is, in my opinion, the best aspect of this game, and I especially appreciated the first indoor area, which reminded me of the iconic Spencer mansion, both in terms of setting and exploration. Upon starting a new game, besides the difficulty settings,…

The game has some issues, such as V-Sync not working correctly, since I still get screen tears. No problem, can deal with that. What is an issue is the overall design, the game opens very linearly; get a key to open one room, which gives access to an item that opens one room, rinse and repeat. Inconsistency is an issue too; use your knife to pry open this door, you still have the knife but can't do it again. Now you got to use a screwdriver to pry open the next door, and that screwdriver is…

There's positives here in the atmosphere and art direction of a lot of areas because some sections do legitimately feel creepy to work through and explore. But those fleeting moments just do not justify a game that's basically a 8-10 hour long key hunt with dozens of key items making it feel like a chore you slog through bouncing back and forth instead of actually exploring and progressing. The weakly named Them and Us is like a survival horror theme park. Not for a moment is it trying to do anything original - instead, it's entirely made up of well-worn horror tropes that we've all known and loved for decades. What a truly challenging experience the first section or hour of this game with fast zombies and very tight resources where avoiding zombies and route planning is a must. When I reached the first boss or special enemy, I realized this game does not really work with standard tank controls because I will get hit no matter how patient or clean my…

"This is honestly the best Resident Evil-style horror game I have ever played! Everything about it is amazing from start to finish. Keep up the great work, developer! We need a second part as soon as possible. Don't worry about those who don't appreciate your hard work. Best of luck, my friend!"

Great game until I got to the Pyramid puzzle. I tried every combination and the lighter still doesn't work. The puzzle is glitched and soft locked me!

Okay, I can recommend this game because I genuinely had fun with it for the first 4 to 6 hours (it took me around 9 hours to beat it), and I finished it using the classic camera view. That said, the game also made me appreciate the level design of the classic Resident Evil games much more. My biggest issue is how the map opens up and lets you backtrack from the very beginning of the game all the way to the end, and this starts happening around the middle of the game. With such limited…

Let me start off by saying that this IS a good game, but I got annoyed very quickly. You'll love it if you're looking for classic survival horror. The good things are: 1. You can use a controller. 2. The main character looks good. 3. The atmosphere is immersive, and you aren't some super soldier or whatever. Instead you play as an average woman who needs to fight to survive against the monsters. 4. The music adds to the atmosphere instead of ruining it like other games. 5. You can play in…

Well... I can't say i did not try the game. I have put in about 5 hours in the game and while it is not a terrible game it is disorganized while you play it. There really is no clue on what you are doing, or where you are going. I understand there this is supposed to compare to RE and Silent hill in previous gens, but this one leaves a lot of questions on what you are supposed to be doing. Maybe I'll give it another go in the future and if those who are asking where i ended i was in the…
