This is a very faithful translation of the real game to an online/digital format. This is the main board game for my partner and I, and it's always fun to get into it. I think this version could improve on a few things, such as maybe adding a fast mode that gets rid of the shuffling animations and lowers the time to choose cards, but overall I think this is a fun game. Even though I own more maps in this version of the game, I still prefer to play the old version if I feel like playing single player, since the opponent AI is so horrible. If you're releasing on Steam there's no excuse not to use the ad-hoc multiplayer features already built in with everyone's Steam accounts. Do better.

Then I moved the game from my hard disk to my SSD. Went away altogether. A game whose entire contents can fit neatly inside my PC's RAM has no business performing this poorly off a mechanical drive. The lock is saved with the game, so restarting the game fixes nothing. According to info, Hasbro has known about this bug for ages, and seem to do absolutely nothing about it. Very much resembling their handling of Cluedo Classic. This is a company that shouldn't have customers.

I played it a lot when I was younger and I played the PC and iPad versions when I was younger. This version of the game is such a buggy mess to play with other people. Every five minutes one of us has a server error. Recently the game has outright started to crash without warning. This version is such a hot mess. I feel cheated and robbed. Marmalade acknowledge the issue but say "please be patient whilst we resolve the issue" - but it's been the same for over a month now. It would be nice if there was a "rulebook" button on the main play screen, sometimes it's hard to remember what each map's end game bonus is and it's a few clicks to find it in the menu. Also a "marathon" mode with extra trains would be fun for 2 players and add a little more replayability. Great game overall though, and the dlc is definitely worth it if you like the base game!

Getting the round the world tour expansion is very worth it if you are a fan of this board game!! There is a companion app on the play store where each player sees only their hand and routes while the game itself is displayed beautifully on the TV screen. I would argue this type of functionality should be built into Steam Link, but it is not and the designer of this game does a fantastic job.
