This is an absolutely fantastic game—perhaps my personal favourite. I have thousands of hours in Division 1 across multiple platforms. But now Ubisoft has ruined it with their obligatory launcher. You used to be able to launch the game directly from Steam. But since the latest update, you now have to run the Ubislop launcher in order to play the game. The biggest issue with this is that Ubisoft Connect (ironic name) …

I'll be honest - the only thing that keeps me hooked on this game is the atmosphere. That snowy, desolate New York City is absolutely breathtaking. The visuals, the sound design, the little stories told through abandoned apartments and scattered notes... it's pure immersion. And the music? Man, that song on the radio, "Gone to Sleep," is absolutely perfect for this world. It's haunting, emotional, and fits the mood …

A severely underappreciated gem. IMO the pinnacle of RPG Shooters. Both me and my partner agree that Div1 is lightning in a bottle. Div2 can't be compared to how more focused and cohesive of an experience it's predecessor is and because it's in maintenance mode it can be played without FOMO aside from Global Events. Satisfying gunplay mechanics, expansive arsenal/build variety, steady progression with tons of …

I completed this game in 2020 when Ubisoft gave it away for free. Later, I bought it on Steam as part of a collection during a sale and revisited the game. It’s a third-person shooter focused on combat, cover mechanics, and gear upgrades. Stronger enemies require a tactical approach, and skills are unlocked by improving your base. The game is well optimized and runs stably even on older systems. The atmosphere is …
Summarised from 34 of the 278 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 11, 2026. How summaries are made
77% of the 266 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Tom Clancy’s The Division™. The complaint that keeps coming up: server connection issues prevent playing at times. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Tom Clancy's The Division received "generally favourable" reviews according to review aggregator, Metacritic. Ars Technica drew comparisons between The Division and Destiny, a first-person shooter game with similar overall mechanics regarding items, crafting, and "shared world" elements. The game was also compared to "modern" massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG), explaining that "structurally, it all feels like it could have been ripped from Guild Wars 2 or a latter-day World of Warcraft," including "that old MMO staple of being stuck in a server queue before diving into a game" on-launch, in combination with the "quintessential Ubisoft design style" of varying types of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought I will give Ubisoft a second chance, bought this game to try it out. "Division service are not available at this moment" Nothin will ever change here. Maybe great games, but terrible publisher.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft offering a game from 2016 on a discount and you can't even join the game, servers are on fire. This is laughable!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. One of my all time favorites. Why am I down voting it? The same reason I hadn't touched it in years. FEAR. This game is online only. Most of the content is playable solo. only 4 missions require a team. I am afraid of the inevitable shut down. I stopped playing because I realized, when that day comes, my time in this game was basically wasted. All of that gear and grind? gone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded. Don't buy: 1) Requires mandatory internet connection (not mentioned on the store page at all), meaning that if they, in the future, take down the servers, you have an unplayable game sitting in your library. 2) Couldn't connect to the game severs because of an error called "Delta C-1-200". The found solution to fix it? "Put your Firewall security to minimum". No thank you, not compromising my system's security for an online game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spent 40 of my 44 minutes playing just waiting to queue. So I guess I'll never know if this would have been a fun experience because I'm not paying $5 to have a waiting simulator.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty good game, but you can't actually always play it due to Ubisoft server unavailability. Sometimes you try to start the game, wait an age for it to connect to the servers, and then get presented with an error message.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! I know beceause I enjoyed it a lot on console. Here, I can't even launch it because of Ubisoft Connect is crashing. Thanks Yves, you're the man!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh my god, where to start? I guess i owe this game an apology, a big one. 10 years have passed and i slept on this so much. Atleast i'm glad i could grab it at 3 euros with the recent Ubisoft sales. Speaking of which, i've had my fair share of experience with Ubi's game and not one single time i was amused or entertained after the golden age of the 2000s: Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, Far Cry. All embarassingly easy and as wide as an ocean and as deep as a puddle to me. Each and every…

Biggest Tip for everyone who just bought it - watch through the entire intro cutscene to the Division 1 - it will say after 20-30 seconds "could not connect to the online servers" repeatedly until the cutscene is completely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a shame they dont make games like this anymore . One of the reason i jumped to pc to play older games at better graphics and high fps. this game can be enjoyed solo or with a squad quite remarkable on how many player still play the game . great community within . people willing to help with harder levels if you agent struggles on higher tiers. worth playing even in 2025

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was pretty interesting back time. But the complete negligence of the company about the issues with cheater in PvP zone really spoils the experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never see evidence of infection, the biggest bullet sponges in history, lots of hackers, if this was single player it would be an amazing game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →invested alot of hours into this game on uplay its definitely enjoyable and the expensions aswell its worth the price considering how many still play this in 2026

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommendation: 90% Carries hard by atmosphere and interesting lore. Make sure to experience this beautiful snowy New York before the game gets shut down. Has some issues, like a very difficult and stuffy endgame for solo players, but overall a great experience. Easy to recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I discovered The Division in 2025, and I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good for a game released almost a decade ago. I bought it mainly to test the gameplay before getting The Division 2, but after 14+ hours, I’m genuinely impressed. The mechanics still feel solid, the progression is rewarding, and it’s perfect for long weekend sessions. You can easily play 3+ hours continuously without getting bored. If you want a real challenge, set the difficulty to Hard — it forces you to play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd recommend this game to others under one condition: you have to be very patient with it.. you start with low level gear and that would give you the feeling of not being that much competitive while playing because of the Health Bar that acquires high gear level to kill fast.. However, reaching level 30 would fix all the issues, which you would reach after finishing almost 90 percent of the game main story, then you start the other part of the game which is the underground and other story…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game. Got “Service Unavailable”. This is why Ubisoft deserve to go under Greedy ass incompetent fcks Thankfully Steam refunded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At this moment, I would not recommend giving The Division a go. We've been experiencing a LOT of server issues, a lack of support if you send a support ticket, loads of cheaters and even complete disconnects (delta). Besides that, the atmosphere and gameplay are great. But maybe try it when Ubisoft or Massive have started caring about their The Division franchise again instead of only putting recycled The Division 1 content into The Division 2, while hoping for a quick cash grab when The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the gameplay and the atmosphere. I also liked idea behind the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having sunk 3,000+ hours across The Division 1 and The Division 2 on multiple platforms, I've officially crossed the line from "player" into "Department of Homeland Security employee." At this point, I'm not reviewing the game, I'm filing an after-action report. At this point I don't know if I own The Division or if The Division owns me. Pros: -One of the best atmosphere and world designs Ubisoft has ever created. -Snow-covered New York in Division 1 is still unmatched. -The Dark Zone can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The store description doesn't do a very good job of explaining what this game actually is. It's an online, multiplayer-only title, where you'll spend most of your time playing alone in your own session. Unless you actively matchmake to play cooperatively with friends or strangers. The only places you will ever see other players are in the "social hubs", like safe houses and PvP-enabled areas. Otherwise, the social aspect of the game is pretty much useless. As for the gameplay, it's a tactical…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ten years after its release The Division is still very solid, and a great pick if you like looter shooters. Shooting feels very good and weapon types have a very distinct feel. There are lots of utility skills, and the cover mechanics work really well. Now quick disclaimer : I played the main story. I wasn't interested in PvP or end-game grind. What I enjoyed : Well, Ubisoft really knows how to make worlds. New York under the snow was not just beautiful, not just huge (the sewers are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Division is one of my favorite games of all time, and after nearly 2,000 hours, I still find myself thinking about it years later. What immediately sets this game apart is its world. The recreation of New York City during the aftermath of the Green Poison outbreak is incredible. Every street, alley, apartment building, and landmark feels carefully crafted. Walking through snow-covered streets lined with Christmas decorations while hearing distant gunfire, seeing civilians struggling to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even after being a 10 year old game it still hold true coming from console to PC it definitely makes a huge difference I wish I would have gotten it on PC sooner but I was stuck in my console phase. I would definitely recommend this to a friend who hasn’t played this game yet.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended (Thumbs Up) Playtime: ~100+ Hours Completion status: 100% Tom Clancy’s The Division is still one of the best “what if society actually collapsed tomorrow” games ever made, and in 2026 it somehow feels more relevant than it did in 2016, Now look current state of this world, 2026 this game makes you prepare to what you goona face tomorrow. but only thing is in real life there will be no Division Agent to save you lol but no matter survive yourself like hopeless and stress NPCs you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing a masterpiece! speaking about this franchise, I've only played Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, I'll definitely play all of them. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is flawless, the story is beautiful, it's amazing how they made Manhattan just like irl o.O such a great work. You'll eventually lvl up during the gameplay, you can loot, buy and sell your weapons, armor, gloves, etc. You have special bullets, you can upgrade your weapons everything, put silencer, muzzle, more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →that good game, yeah just with compensation to low end quality to can play this game in my laptop, I have 25fps. Overall gameplay is good and online game is perfect nothing problem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The atmosphere is amazing. The Survival mode is a must play, no other game can replicate that experience. Solo or co-op, it's fun either way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for those who are looking for shooting game but with deeper mechanics and storyline.... this is one of those game that you must play at least once
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great, but it's tied to the utterly terrible and required for no reason Ubisoft app. Every time I have had an issue trying to play its been because of that anti-consumer app, which has no real reason to exist. Love the game, but do yourself a favour and don't bother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What's there to say about this game ? I mean, mostly everyone already knows about it by now. It's The Division. One of my favorite games. Love the setting, story, gameplay, factions, missions, game modes and everything else. I've played it 5 times until now and some how, some way, I always come back to it and like it even more. P.S: I used to be afraid of the Dark Zone. Not anymore :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even at almost a decade old as of the time of this review, The Division 1 is still the best gritty, cover-based looter shooter I've ever played. There are many good games like it, but this one is unique. The graphics still hold up today. The story is even more pertinent after 2020 than it was when it was made. A surprising number of people still play it, but much of its content can be soloed. Every character can switch classes with just a quick change of gear, since the stats are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I personally love The Division but didn't get terribly far in because none of my friends wanted to keep playing. I'm sure it gets grindy and annoying in the late game, but I didn't get there so I can't comment. The game is often offered at a deep discount, so get some friends together and save New Yorker. Or not since, you know, The Division 2 exists.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only thing keeping me sane about this game is its atmosphere, a mix of x-mas and NY vibe. Also don't pay much attention to DPS, it's a LIE!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great and it is an even better experience with friends. There are a lot of challenges, items, sets, and different gear to mix and match. It was really fun to complete every classified set during the Global Events. So, I think The Division is a really good game! The only thing I don't understand is the number of available class/item slots. There are only 6 slots to save your equipment/class and 150 item slots in your slash. The game features 14 classes and dozens of combinations, as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The other day I saw a meme that said “Ubisoft cooked with The Division, and then they lost the recipe.” Well, after playing The Division, the OP almost got it right. The Division (and the games right around 2016-17) is exactly where Ubisoft lost the formula. I get it, The Division was/is a popular game. I’m writing a negative review because I don’t think it is a good single player experience, I don’t think it is a good Tom Clancy game, and I don’t think it is a good looter shooter. I would not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story. Great end game content. Starting it up again on PC, but have over 100 days on Xbox...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played it like a single player game mostly, because I got so late to the party and was never going to farm for pvp gear. You can absolutely solo this game but you'll finish the solo part fairly quickly because you need a team for most endgame content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a fantastic storyline and great playability as far as interesting missions and concepts. The overall controls SUCK ASS!!!! Once your in cover it doesn't always let you out of cover. it tries to put you in cover when you are trying to jump over a wall. or it won't let you jump because the CTRL function for jumping won't show let you use it. if you're in cover changing grenades make you jump over the cover and into enemy fire. When you are aiming for headshots you don't get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The greatest Looter Shooter MMO that "I" have ever played. If you played this from when it was released and kept up with the updates, the drama, the fixes, the good moments in the DZ, it's one of those games that most likely will never ever come by again, as it required that specific "timeline". F&@k the memories it gives me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →True UBI game - dumb and beautiful! Thumbs up only because I got it at a recent offer for about 5 euros. For this money, it is a decent mindless blast... But I wouldn't recommend spending a penny more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it even if I give a negative opinion to the game, but there is a level design that annoys me immensely, there is no story, there is no in between, the side quests and the main story quests are all the same, I recommend to the buyers to play the game only in co-op with your friends, and the person who has played this game for 900 hours, say hello, how many hours have you played this game?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played this many moons ago. With "Resurgance" out this still looks better as the details inthe "Snowdrop" engine are amazing even today. This game has been around for 10 years and it still looks better than some new releases. Story was good. The gameplay is fun even though i do not like emptying a magazine into and enemies head and it just take off some health is a bit strange (if you dont like this play Ghost Recon) but it is part of the RPG style mechanics of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After coming back to this game after so long of playing AAA games today. I know now I didn't appreciate this game the way I should've at release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game through xbox with 4k hours played, its been a fun game but sucks not many people playing as it use to to get any achievements done now. If anybody sees this comment and is down to help with missions or in DZ, send a friend request or msg.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as The Division 2 improved almost all of the moment-to-moment gameplay, this game is still my favorite looter shooter of all time. Freshly post-apocalyptic NYC is a top 5 video game setting I have ever experienced. Probably the very last Ubisoft game to be chock-full of heart. Also, OG Dark Zone is a defining era for me as a Gamer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls suck, the enemies are all bullet sponges and hit like a freight train (The Ripper), and nobody's around in early game for matchmaking. Guess I was 10 years too late.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unbalanced as hell for solo play, do not recommend as a solo player. Developers neve thought about solo players.
