This was great until today, December 1st, 2025. This update changed too much from the original. The game is no longer in good hands it seems. Update: Since the comments I got are from people that didn't read the patch notes, here they are again at the bottom. These people are changing a game that should not be screwed with. All of that stuff they "fixed" were things that made Turok Turok. With every change it is not …

The Nightdive remaster of Turok does a solid job of bringing a very ’90s FPS into a more playable modern form without sanding off its rough edges. What still stands out is the sense of speed and movement. Turok feels fast, responsive, and physical. The weapon arsenal is another highlight. There’s a good amount of variety, and the guns feel powerful and distinct, which helps keep combat engaging across the game’s …

The Classic Turok made easily accessibly on current hardware. For being released almost 30 years ago (scary to even say out loud) Turok still plays extremely well if you are into old school shooters. The game runs perfectly on new hardware and kept is all charm, including the super stupid enemy ai, but I am glad they did not change it. Thankfully they added a lot of accessibility options, like disabling head bobbing …

The game runs very smooth and feels really nice to play. You have complete freedom in how you want to move around and jump on things. It felt fun to play hard and fast, as any "boomer" shooter should. The music is amazing, the most fun I had was on level 3 killing dudes and dinosaurs with those fast paced drums. Absolutely amazing game chemistry there. The ammo pickups seemed imbalanced/overabundant, but I also …

A classic shooter with strong atmosphere. It’s clearly outdated by today’s standards, but still worth playing. Remake would be nice.

Critics, per Wikipedia
Turok was a critical and commercial success, earning rave reviews from video game magazines and becoming the most popular title for the Nintendo 64 in the months following its release. On the aggregate review web site Metacritic, the console version of Turok has an 85% rating, based on scores from thirteen reviews. Douglass Perry of the multimedia website IGN compared Turok favorably to other first person shooters, saying that the title distinguished itself by allowing a level of 3D movement not possible in other members of the genre. GamePro, which gave Turok a perfect score in all four categories (control, funfactor, graphics, and sound), similarly said "Turok has more firepower, more…

negative · AI labelView post →Those who know me, know my dedication to video game gore. In a nod to the original Turok, DISDAIN will have blood color as a user option. This required a bit of extra planning in the asset creation pipeline. Nothing too complicated but worth the extra effort. #DisdainFPS #VKDoom #GZDoom
