I'm taking my positive review away, which I don't wanna do but I need to. I've fallen through every single map well over 50 times. 5 of my runs have ended with the elite enemy key not spawning in or the enemy not spawning in especially at the tyrant's castle, which is always super empty with two enemies. I like the concept, I was actually developing a similar idea for a game, but I was trying to combine Sekiro style combat with Slay the Spire decision making mechanics. Scope was too big for to solo. I've very sympathetic to the genre though, so I have to give this a thumbs up. I beat it on my first run, being very familiar with the genre, and it does seem to have some additional difficulty settings. Things I have to …

Do I enjoy the game? Yes - quite a bit. Can I suggest the game? No, I really can't. It's an exercise in frustration with a brutal learning curve, some notable balance issues, and overly wonky combat control. The enemies, overall, are far too repetitive, and most of your time is spent smashing everything in a room to loot it. This is such an incredible waste of time and does nothing to advance the enjoyment of the game; quite the opposite to be honest. There's a really good game in here...it…

Look, I really enjoyed this game. It was a lot of fun, scratched the roguelike itch, and I've sunk many more hours than I expected into this going "just one more run". However it's janky af, with certain bugs being completely run-ruining. And that's kind of disrespectful. There's nothing more annoying than playing a game like this (especially on a time-trial or something) than falling through the floor and having to reload the level, only to find that every single enemy has also fallen through…

This game has potential, but as it stands, it feels like a cheap attempt at Souls-like combat with weak rogue-lite elements and boring progression. It's also not challenging enough for a rogue-like and actually feels very boring most of the time.

Things I liked: * The ps1-inspired graphics are nostalgic and pretty low demand, without looking bad. * I like the different themes of the environments, even if they are fairly predictable. * Runs don't take too long. Things I'm meh on: * All of the bosses except the first one have some unique gimmick or mechanic that makes them a little more than you might expect. However, after you fight them once, the surprise is gone and it becomes a chore to fight them again. Things I disliked: * The…

Not the worst game I have played, but a mediocre souls like nonetheless. The dodge is in four directions, which screws you when you want to dodge to the corner. In true small budget roguelike fashion, so many weapons and pickups are just completely useless. After three runs, I didn't find any shield that had better stats than one I picked up in the first level. Bosses also leave a ton to be desired. They just hit you with long wind up moves, you block, land a heavy blow, rinse repeat. This game…

Tyrant's realm is a game. it has buttons you can press, mechanics that do feasibly work, and for $10 you could buy worse. You could also buy MUCH better. There's roughly 2 hours of content in the game. Everything you see in the trailer? That's pretty much the ENTIRE GAME. It's JUST long enough to run you out of refund time and then completely drops all pretenses of having anything new to show you. Let me break down the pros and cons: • Solid Variety of weapons to use with different stats,…

Not for me, but i could see how others could like it. It's a good intro to souls likes game, but if you've already beaten the hard ones then this will be a breeze. I beat the final boss on my first playthrough. The main reason I'm giving this a bad rating is the progression system. Everything is locked behind blueprints kinda like deadcells but you just get no money to get anything. 1 full run basically gave me like 600 coins which is like 3 items or 1 metaprogression. I don't really want to…

It has very cool ideas, like the upgrade system which is simple yet functional, some bosses like the old hunter, having the chance to avoid those bosses if you find them annoying by buying the secret passage in the merchant, etc... The art style is also great and the movement is also comfortable. However, it's not as polished and balanced as I would like. All enemies have like 2000 poise, so forget to hit them and stop an attack (As far as I know only the heavy armor ability to kick has…

I can see how people might enjoy the aesthetics, but the gameplay was not for me. Very basic combat, which would be fine if there were any apparent mechanics to make things interesting (there did not seem to be). -Special attacks are tied to armor and are all very niche in how useful they are, often forcing you to commit to a long, drawn-out attack that did relatively little damage to bosses. -Parrying is a joke; as hard as enemies hit, it was never worth risking the ridiculously precise…

More rogue like than souls like. Personally I like run based action rogue like elements and that was what drew me to purchase the game in the first place. Might be too simple or small for souls like players, but I dig it. At the end of the day it's a great action roguelike that's not too complicated for a great price.

Weird game. Forget about your heavy attack chain, rolling attacks, running attacks. Even weapon classes in this game arent justifiable enough because they have no variety that could make an actual difference other than speed and stamina consumption (fist class is the best). Light weapons basically make you fly towards whatever direction youre facing when youre attacking. Forget about bows, staffs, enemy variety, consumables and literally anything at all that could make the game better.…

I'll give this a thumbs up, but anyone reading this should know I'm critical of it! This game is good in simple ways and struggles in complicated ways. Going through the dungeon, finding weapons, and fighting enemies and bosses all works, but there's issues that wear down the concept the longer you engage with it. The combat is simple. It works exactly the way it looks and is generally pretty fun. However, it is often very samey. You will essentially never cause an enemy to flinch on…

It's pretty darksouls one-ey, with the lack of flashy moves, magic, and slow gameplay. It feels less like a test of roll timing, and more about stamina management and positioning. The aesthetics are really nice, the levels feel varied, and the whole game is visually cohesive. The difficulty feels fair for the entire game, however flasks being tied to metaprogression can be offputting to some roguelike fans, as later levels feel like having it maxxed is the intended experience. Seems like an asset flip charging 10$ for barely 40mins of story, half-assed roguelite elements but without any replayability value for multiple playthroughs to want to unlock anything. Great pocket action rogue-like with souls-like elements. Tyrant's Realm is focused on pure fun gameplay and mostly nothing else, which is absolutely not a bad thing. You run, kill, pick/swap items from chests/barrels, go to the next room, upgrade items/stats at altars, kill more, rinse & repeat a few times, and after several rooms you might make it to the Merchant's Lounge. There, you refill your health flask and buy/unlock items (which are then available in the item pool, also in subsequent…

Having beaten the game several times now, I don't really understand the other people complaining about how hard this is. It's very much like Dark Souls, finding a good combination of armor, shield, and weapons is super important, and there's always a sense of progression thanks to the rogue-lite element of collecting coins and unlocking new gear. Poise damage, and breaking an enemy's poise, is way more about counting hits, and less about how much each swing is doing. I highly recommend this to…

Got it on sale. You go from room to room fighting 1-2 enemies, go to the merchants room where you spend money (you're forced to spend all the money you have), then fight a boss, then go back to crawling through room to room. I got this game on sale for $7, and beat the final boss about 50 minutes in. Then I discovered you can increase the difficulty of the run when you start up again. It's worth the $7.

Tyrant's Realm is an action roguelite with a dark fantasy atmosphere and retro PS1-style graphics. Each run through procedurally generated levels offers new challenges, and death is merely a prelude to another attempt with improvements carried over between rounds. The Souls-inspired combat system requires tactics, precision attacks, dodges, and parries—though sometimes the challenges are made easier by health-restoring items, which reduces the difficulty later on. The low-poly PS1 graphics…

Took me about 7 hrs to beat the game on normal difficulty but the gameplay was fun. Haven't collected all the gear yet. The loop is fairly satisfying and bosses range from easy to insanely difficult. Once you master how to level up stats. You'll run thru the game (which could be a good or bad thing). Good thing if you want a quick lunch break game of some solid soul like experience. Bad if you crave more out of exploring a map like elden ring

If I had to describe this game I'd say it feels like a slightly easier version of the first dark souls with the roguelike infrastructure from deadcells. Very fun through and through. My only gripe is that the tutorial is so aggressively a tutorial it does a poor job of showing what the game is actually like., so if you try this game make sure to at least try a full run after the tutorial before forming your opinion on the gameplay.

And despite it being fairly short on content, I must admit I enjoyed the handful of hours it took me to power through both the game and new game plus. I’ve always thought sous-like mechanics would work really well in a rogue-like, so its surprising that apart from the free-to-play Let it Die no one has really tried to mash these two genre’s…

Unfortunately I find the game too difficult to really enjoy. Yeah sure you can find new weapons and armor which will make the game a bit easier... But there's a lot of requirement here to remember all the different attacks from enemies and how to properly defend/counter them. But if there are multiple enemies attacking you it can be easy to just mess up. And messing up is punishing, brutal.
