I use this game when writing science fiction, to help me get an accurate idea of how an imagined solar system might work, or how bodies in our solar system relate to each other. Although my laptop is pretty low-rent, it still works well for me with modest graphics settings. I'd absolutely love it if there were some way to 'fly' from one body to another.

I bought universe sandbox in 2015 near when it released and was still called "Universe Sandbox 2." I remember the original universe sandbox being a cool way to look at planets and when they'd collide they'd either go "pop" or "shlorp" and that was it. Since then Universe Sandbox became Universe Sandbox Legacy and Universe Sandbox 2 became the Universe Sandbox you see today. Since I bought this game way back in 2015 …

My six year old daughter and I sit together and think of different ways to destroy earth. Amazing game!

had this game for 30 mins, 371 moons currently orbiting a banana, saturn collided with neptune and became a supermassive blackhole, earth is now 2x the mass of the sun and has a 3% life likelyhood chance i am god 10/10 oh also i terraformed a tennis ball

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Words cannot describe what this game is to me - this is the 1st game I got when I got Steam back in 2016 and the game has changed so much its a nice taste of it all. Nostalgic for the past and still good that its making new funs and glory for destruction and peace and utter beauty. Love the game to my core.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its very good but I downloaded some mod in the community wall and it removed my downloaded version of universe sandbox I bought. Tried getting it back by contacting steam, however I didn't have the receipt so I just lost the game and could not do much about it. So uh, don't download mods from the community wall!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so good that i forgot i had pizza next to me and got cold and had to warm it up

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun to mess around with, but PLEASE make sure you have a decent computer, or a very well cooled one. I first ran this on my old laptop and i might have gotten burn marks on my fingers. GREAT game tho

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, made 14 habitable planets, a gas giant green and blue, and a star several times larger than the largest known galaxy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A physics simulation game that's just way too fun, I highly recommend it! (as evident by the 3355 hours of gameplay).... Pros: 1. I get to blow up stuff 2. I get to REALLY blow up stuff Cons: You will never touch grass again (jk)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't "played" with this too much but I love how they tend to the simulator. And when something new happens in science, they add it as soon as possible. So if you can, please support this wonderful project.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I suggest this game if you want to simulate what-if scenarios and to determine probable outcomes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's a great simulator.... I manually added earth next to Jupiter and sun, and the sun next to the biggest known stars and my children were amazed with the difference. Left the simulation run with two stars close to each other, and now my kids understand what a supernova is better than if they had read about it. My favorite thing is just throw dozens of marbles in the void and see how the gravity acts on them. I don't know how the simulation manages calculating all the influence every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of fun, especially if you're like me and have a god complex that needs to be exercised in an isolated and safe environment
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is super realistic. It actually has realistic space graphics like SpaceEngine and it's a really cool game to play if you love space exploration.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well, my computer is bad and lags a lot but this game is really worth the 30 bucks and if you don't think its fun i will find you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have obsess with universe. This topic is my everything im glad i found a game like that. I ve researching universe for years i have many impossible dreams about it that would be novel if i try to explain this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is really amazing and fun, i highly recommend to give it a try i really like the idea that how it make you destroying the universe and making new one with new life on new planets but i wish if there is more languages like Arabic or a translator, because there are many things I cant understand.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good simulation but it is limited to your imagination. I personally lack enough creativity to enjoy this game. This IS a sandbox so if you don't do well with sandbox games, I wouldn't recommended it. But I know a lot of people do so I will recommended this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I somehow managed to get this to run on a Mac from 2011 running MacOS 10.13.6, and it ran surprisingly smooth, as for the game, it is my first time playing as of this review, and it is really impressive. I don't really understand hw to put atmospheres on planets, and to do some other stuff, but so far it's really good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a beautifully presented physics simulator of one of the oldest natural sciences: astronomy. The gameplay experience can range from educational, peaceful, experimental, inquisitive, meticulous, chaotic, destructive, or outright hilarious. The sandbox provides the player with a versatile and intuitive toolbox that allows for many cinematic displays of astrophysics, while at the same time, allowing for a good range of explosive hilarity for those who are familiar or just plain out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it actually is very important to know the Schwarzschild Radius of a baseball
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Destroy planets, make planets, more physics based wacky shenanigans. If You like space you will enjoy this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Universe Sandbox is one of those rare games that perfectly blends science, creativity, and pure chaos. It’s not just a “game” it’s an interactive universe simulator where you can experiment with gravity, smash planets together, create solar systems, and watch the results in real time. I love how detailed and realistic everything feels. You can adjust mass, temperature, velocity, and even simulate real astronomical events like supernovae or black hole collisions. The physics engine is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely fabulous and intoxicating for people who enjoy science, astronomy, and just like asking "What if?" I overwhelmingly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the best game ever except for a few things. 1 moons should be in the starter simulation instead of the satlelites simulation and the ground looks very bad when you land on planets also try fixing some lag
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought i would never be able to play this game due to my horrible specs but i got it to run at 60 fps on a 5 year old laptop with optimizations with only 8gb of storge. There is so much to do and only limit is your imagination - 10/10 would play if you want a god like experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible! Ever since I was a kid, I've dreamed of playing this game, and I finally have it! And it's supposedly still in development. The sheer number of possibilities is amazing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i give this a 10/10 im laggy a bit laggy tho i reccomend you buying this game and this is perfect for space fans or space lovers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just the best. I terraformed Mars, destroyed the Earth and killed everybody :) Good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you are the kind of person that would think "hmm what if i struck earth with pigeon at the speed of light" then this game is 100% for you basicly a god simulator where you control how solar systems or other space objects behave, and for the curious no, you do not get to see any aliens Good game 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun simulator, controls can be difficult to pick up without outside help and requires a pretty tanky PC to actually enjoy. Would only recommend if its on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, made my own solar system to destory! Cool and realistic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it is worth the $30 because you can do many things (destroy the solar system) + (make stuff habitable) etc...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really cool space sandbox game as a huge astronomy osc and sci-fi (murder drones in particular) fan i really like this game 11/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so good, but sadly my computer crashed alot and stoped responding but very very good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its really good if you are wanting to enjoy smashing planets together, make life on other planets and moons its not that of a heavy game either, I am actually playing this game on a 13 year old work only laptop still it gets to average of 40 FPS which is very surprising
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Check out Universe Sandbox on steam. Open the Sol system and delete a planet, change all the settings add black holes
neutral · AI labelView post →Yes, I really liked it because I can conduct my experiments and create the things I’ve dreamed of; the only downside is the limited number of stars and planets—you could at least add another 30 planets and stars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game with plenty of content and amazing graphics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is good. however. if you (like me) are scared by zooming in or out on a graph (bear with me) DO NOT by this game, something about the graph genuinely terrefies me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i LOVED it! theres just so much to do and im working on my own custom-made star system right now. would definitely recommend for people who like space. even though my macbook is an intel 2017, the game runs pretty smoothly. Only downside is that when i get near fragments my FPS doesnt get too happy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a simulator game about doing what ever you want to planets stars and others
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After all those fast-paced games, why not chill out for a second? The game is pretty self-explanatory, it is just a sandbox simulator, where your only limit is your imagination.I need to know what would happen if the Sun was 5 times brighter. Fun fact: This and Saiko no Sutoka hold the crown for being the first ever games that I´ve ever purchased on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so cool, you can litterally blow up anywhere on earth... let me try my house in ame-

neutral · AI labelView post →Very fun, very educational. Recommended if you like learning about planets and their characteristics whilst you blow them up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it was laggy at first but after setting a lot of setting to low it ran so well i think this is my new space game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's really good for showing people the scale of cosmic objects e.g. Betelgeuse next to our Sun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could play with game for hours. Anything you can imagine you can put to use in this universe game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a very very good game, the physics are awesome, the graphics are unreal, and overall it is a very good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had this game for a while, and let me tell you, it never gets old. It's a solid option that I keep returning to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun space sandbox game, I love making my own solar systems and chaotic orbits and life on planets. Cant wait for the life update.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game and full confidence in devs to keep updating...the flatscreen version. I'm stuck on update-34.1.1 because I game in VR. Wonder what the latest looks like. Still 100% worth it despite this. Great graphics, fun but accurate, rich feature set, surprisingly easy enough to run
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is more then a decade old and still receiving updates. That alone should give it a thumbs up but it also happens to be an amazing game/tool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After years of having it cracked, I downloaded it officially on steam because its worth it.
