It's an OK game, maybe especially for the extremely casual or novices to VR would probably enjoy it a lot. But the game itself is pretty shallow and the gameplay is fairly repetitive. I find it irritating you find reviews of people saying "this is super underrated and my favorite rougelite VR game" and they've played it for a grand total of 80 minutes, ever. The hours I played it were enough to experiment with …

I bought this game along with several other 'vr hack and slash games' as playing an ancient version of GORN made me curious about how much i might enjoy this genre. of the several other, Until you fall was the game that caught me the most, pretty much right from the beginning. im super fat and not in great shape so even just flailing my arms around like an idiot is very intense excersize for me, so i am never able …

Nothing else comes close in terms of visuals and haptics meshing so fluidly together. The weapons feel so real when you run the blades along each other. Attack patterns are well thought out and the game acts as an incredible workout as you're dodging and slicing. I haven't had so much fun with exercise since the Xbox 360 released the Kinect. Incredibly well optimized, fantastic gameplay loop, and is quite possibly …

By far the best VR swordfighting game. Most swordfighting games in VR force you to guess where to block based off of an animation. This leads to enemies that are slow, sluggish and obvious, as well as attacks that look like they should have been blocked, but they weren't. They do this because it's "More immersive" To fix this issue, Until You Fall adds block and dodge indicators. These indicators tell you exactly …

The only problem with this game is there isn't a second one or additional DLC to keep pushing the replayability! Cmon Schell games this is literrally your best game. UNTIL YOU FALL 2?

89% of the 178 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Until You Fall. The complaint that keeps coming up: lack of additional content or sequel. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Until You Fall received generally favorable reviews from critics, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Fellow review aggregator OpenCritic assessed that the game received "mighty" approval, being recommended by 100% of critics. UploadVR praised the weapon variety, feeling that it helped "encourage various playstyles and experimentation to get the most out of its combat". Road to VR liked the game's combat and the way combat markers were used, saying that they "Not only does this approach leave room for meta-game strategy—like which weapons you use and how you use them—it also allows the game to carefully set the 'pace' of combat to make it both challenging and rewarding".…

It originally was more RPG than Arcade-focused with adventure game mechanics & NPCs. These were from that phase & ultimately discarded as we narrowed down our focus.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indeed, I am engaged in the game, Until You Fall, unadorned in the realm of VR. Come forth and join me in combat against legions of beasts the likes of which this world has never encountered, all whilst I am entirely without armor! onlyfans.com/tsunamicub

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun concept but UI is awful. On slow enemies it kinda works, but when you start fighting boss UI tool-tips indicating position for weapon to block are almost invisible on screen and lost in special effects.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I love this game, even for half price, it's just not worth it. The game is dead when it really seemed like there'd be more content and they're absolute Meta Sellouts. These kinds of people set VR progress back. The gameplay works fine, there's nothing remarkable for a timing based roguelike, and the upgrades are fun, but there's limited types of enemies and the combat literally is just blocking a certain way and kiting enemies, or swinging your arms so fast a beatsaber player can relate.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best VR fighting games, thanks to its exceptionally well designed movement system. It’s a shame there will probably never be a sequel or a DLC that could expand the feature set even further. I’d buy it instantly without hesitation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you reach the final boss, don't hit the heart with the weapon. Just crush it like an upgrade. Seriously, who designed this stupid sh*t that loses you the entire run at the last second? Old Review: A really good VR game and a great way to burn some calories. New player tips: - Don't aggro a lot of enemies at once / try to fight the fewest enemies at once - There are 2 kinds of damage: Guard damage and health damage - You must break all enemies guard (white bar) before you can deal health…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✨ quote and drop something neon ✨ Some of the neon hellscape environments of Rokar that I made at work for Until You Fall VR. I did the Art Direction for the game, but occasionally I got to get my hands dirty and work on assets and levels.
neutral · AI labelView post →Until You Fall, developed and published by Schell Games, is one of the most confident and fully realized examples of melee-focused virtual reality design, blending physical combat, roguelite structure, and striking audiovisual identity into a cohesive whole. Rather than treating VR as a novelty layer on top of traditional action mechanics, the game is built from the ground up around embodied movement, asking players to fight not just with button inputs but with deliberate, physical intent. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best melee roguelike I've played in VR! Enemies are varied enough, weapon handling is solid. Some traits, like many of these games, are useless compared to others, but don't expect OP builds here. My only gripe is that there's just the one boss 3x even if he learns new tricks each stage. I thoroughly enjoyed the painful challenge modes (Looking at you weaponless Monk of Rokar)

neutral · AI labelView post →Love the attacking, blocking, dashing and dodging mechanics, especially on nightmare difficulty as it's not only fun but can be a workout. It's a shame that the only major update was for 2 handed weapons and not a new area, new enemies or co-op mode, but I understand Schell Games is working on other projects. Still a fun roguelite hack and slash in 2026.

Great mechanics, great gameplay, replayability out of this world. I tried all the most popular VR games and this is by far the 1st game I'll give anyone new to VR to play and they even forget about Beat saber most of the time and just keep playing this. Highly recommended, 10/10. The only thing i would suggest is adding online multiplayer mode so I could…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ideal to sweat a little while having fun at the same time, its combat system is not based on clumsy physics like other more immersive games, it is a very arcade game and it feels good. Quite hard and addictive. I highly recommend a system to keep you stucked in one place and avoid breaking something on your room :P
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a workout. It functioned as an inadvertent fitness regimen that may even have the potential to surpass those other games/applications available on the VR market which are dedicated for exercise, including those boxing titles. It proved just how suboptimal my physical condition was when I began to experience sweating and fatigue just within my very first hour of play time, but it probably doesn't help that the VR headset does generate a lot of heat that would have exacerbated the…

Whether its just plain jank from VR controls or physics, a lot of them just don't 'feel' well. Namely "Blade & Sorcery". You either love the realism or you hate it due to its physics jank. Well, in Until You Fall, the devs opted into a more streamlined fighting system without physics and it feels good! Fighting System Due to how the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best VR game I played. Being a rogue-lite, the game offers endless replay value and gives you the impression that you are actually engaging in a sword fight. Playing it will also provide you some excellent exercise, so that's a plus. 11/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those VR games that has little to no flaws and is a feature-complete experience right out of the box with no strings attatched. You get a well designed, fun, and replayable VR rogue-like with a unique and entertaining combat system all rolled together with a cohesive and visually pleasing artystyle. A must-have for any VR headset owner who's a fan of the VR melee game genre, 10/10 no notes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Until You Fall is a simple yet polished lite rogue game with an addicting combat system. The game is melee combat focused, offering a variety of different weapons for any kind of playstyle. Every enemy has a set of attack pattern, and you can see them before they attack. You have react fast to parry, evade and counter them with your own attacks. There are two upgrade systems in this game: At the end of each stage, you can choose a temporary upgrade for the current session until the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish i could give this a thumb sideways, but I can't, so here goes. I keep wanting to play this game but pretty much without fail I end my game session frustrated. Which is a shame because the game is pretty fun and also doubles as exercise. It's annoying to me that dashing is the only way to actually move anywhere. I know you can walk but the speed is so slow I am pretty sure the average 100-year-old can move faster than that. And mid-combat you can't know how many dashes you have remaining…

neutral · AI labelView post →Unfortunately, I got this game by buying a key. Otherwise I would have definitely refunded money because it's boring as hell and all the fights are just QTEs and QTEs only. And of course you should not forget about the mottling and blinking effects, behind the flashes of which you simply can not see how and where you have to block the enemy attack. So the gameplay loop looks like this: boring QTE grind -> death -> repeat. It really don't worth your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique and beautiful aesthetic, solid and empowering swordplay, easy to learn and hard to master. Currently my favorite VR workout title, though as I'm getting back into VR I'll check out other roguelikes. But it's hard to say much more about the game - it just works! It's great! I'm only sad they never added another campaign or further story content. Hoping there's another one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A couple come to mind, Beatsaber, Davigo, Underdogs, Until You Fall, Skyrim VR with Mods & Climbey. Some of those had me on the floor, amazing how a game feel can make it feel like you're psychically lifting heavy objects.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They fixed some of the problems with locomotion but turning is still bad, and when you get further into the game the game isn't designed to avoid having to do it. Also the worst game I've ever played for hitting my headset cable.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good: ++ Roguelite + Nice combat mechanics + Good visuals The bad: - Same levels over and over again - Very difficult (and tiresome) - Lot's of grinding due to high cost curve on upgrades - Some enemies are imbalanced and overpowered (like when reaching boss 2) I would still recommend this. If the levels were randomly generated, that would be a huge upgrade!
