Uprising: Join or Die is an action real-time strategy video game by American developer Cyclone Studios, released in North America on October 14, 1997 and in Japan on July 24, 1998 for Windows. The player controls a powerful combat vehicle known as the Wraith that transports rebel units onto the battlefield, fighting against the military. TL:DR >>> THE GAME IS GOOD BUT STEAM RELEASE IS BAD That is why I'm giving this a negative review and recommend not buying it here, but instead to try the GOG store. It seems to be far better. Uprising: Join or Die is my most favorite games ever, being a mix of RTS and FPS, perhaps one of the first in the genera. Released back in 1997/98, this had filled me with fears as a kid from the designs of the turrets …

This is a little gem from 1997 and it's a really awesome and unique 3D first person action / RTS hybrid. I originally played the demo when I was growing up, which only had 2 maps (this version has 20), but the game was that good and innovative that I must have played those maps dozens of times each! Major con: This game likes to crash. A lot. And if memory serves this was true in 1997 as well. I mean seriously, how …

This game was and still is my ♥♥♥♥. Probably my favorite example of the Action/RTS genre... a clean blend of shooter mechanics with easy call in units and bases that provides enough of a challenge to be exhilarating but not impossibly difficult. Warning: I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game so I'm a bit biased. Uprising Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C98-EARNPww Explained shortly, Uprising is a game where you control a …

This is one of the founding fathers of the FPS/RTS hybrid type games. You play as an advanced Wraith Hover Tank. You have a large arsenal of weapons you can upgrade to as you play through each Planetary & Solar System campaign, you build & defend your bases and call in units whether they be infantry, tanks, aav or bombers on the fly as you conquer through each map. Not bad for a nearly 20 year old game... wait... …

If you want to buy the game but are torn between Steam and GoG, go with GoG on this one. The GoG version has a manual which includes a fairly lengthy backstory that reeks of the 90s and even explains (albeit vaguely) who you're fighting and why. It also has some delicious stat sheets, a bit of random artwork, and other dubious goodies. I mean, they managed to cram two Doom and DBZ memes into one sentence and you …

Players who liked Uprising: Join or Die talk about unique blend of first-person shooter and real-time strategy; those who didn't talk about frequent crashes, especially when using certain keys. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received average to positive reviews. PC Gamer UK opined that the gameplay mimicked "fighting off the Forkish invaders with guile, cunning, and the assistance of a platoon of well-armed sprouts", with PC Gamer US complimenting the gameplay as well. The first person perspective was also well-received, with GameSpot giving praise for the "cinematic feel of the battles", and PC Gamer UK commending the game for "giving [the player] both a tank’s-eye view of the unfolding action and overall control of the battle". Next Generation lauded that the game "is groundbreaking gaming at its best: fast, challenging, and beautiful. It's absolutely way beyond recommended." However, one problematic…

60 of 175 · most liked firstAfter over a decade, dedicated Kid Icarus Uprising fans have finally uncovered an unused level in the game! It seems to revolve around “Caine’s Dastardly Tricks” and even has unfinished dialogue between Palutena and Pit involving multiple enemies(?) that aren’t seen in the main story at all.

Mouse controls would be perfect for that series Sin and Punishment fans: Just 1cc'd normal mode! Working on Hard now

Kid Icarus Uprising is stuck on the 3DS, but there's this entire group preserving the experience by snatching random men off the street and feminizing them into wobbly fertile bimbo Palutena clones.

neutral · AI labelView post →Third question: You said in an earlier interview you had considered reviving another game similarly to Kirby Air Riders. Which one would that be? Sakurai: "It's not Kid Icarus: Uprising if that's what you think. I'm considering a return to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It had marvelous story telling."

neutral · AI labelView post →Kid Icarus Uprising is such a frustrating game to recommend to people. "Yeah bro, the game is great, but it literally hurts your hands to the point that the game tell you to take a break after every chapter and was sold with a special stand. No, they didn't fix the controls for the N3DS."
