Voyage: Journey to the Moon
Developer Microids
Voyage: Inspired by Jules Verne (known as Journey to the Moon in the United Kingdom and Australia) is a point-and-click adventure game with pre-rendered graphics, developed by Kheops Studio and published by The Adventure Company for the PC in 2005. The game's story focuses on a French adventurer's journey to the Moon in the 19th century, and the ancient lunar civilization he subsequently finds. Voyage is loosely… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

I liked the game and concept at first, but as i got further and further into the game i found the puzzles got more and more illogical and , basically weird. Things like opening a hatch, in space, without breathing apparatus is just one example of the kind of 'lets ignore physics and logical reasoning and just do something random' kind of puzzle approach. I found myself using walk-throughs more and more just to get …

This was an enjoyable telling of a Verne-inspired tale, though I’ve found it helpful to ignore the connection with Monsieur Verne in the long run. I would certainly play another game by Kheops Studios. So, to summarise: a point-n-click adventure, featuring a good story, some hand-eye coordination, a few timed sequences, plenty of opportunities to die, but with immediate resurrection to before the fateful decision …

I found Voyage incredibly difficult - one of the most complicated point n' clicks I've ever played. It stands out by allowing the player to complete pretty much every puzzle in multiple different ways and in a non-linear manner, i. e. independently from one another. At the very beginning of the game I had a chance to solve a puzzle which turns out was supposed to be solved only at the very very end. I think this …

Completely fantastic. To me this game epitomizes the heyday of the Myst-like era, and expertly pulls off everything that sub-genre is good at. Large open world, explorable, and most important interesting and varied, world. The exact opposite of linear. You slowly unlock more areas, but also each area has its own specific uses, there is not a single location that you will not keep going back to over and over again …

Voyage: Journey to the Moon sits at 71% positive across 95 opinionated reactions from 4 sources. Fresh or rotten — where do you land?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The Windows version received "mixed or average reviews" according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. One of the more positively received aspects of the game was its ability to recreate the mood of 19th century science-fiction, with GameSpot writing that the game nicely re-creates the whimsical mood of 19th-century sci-fi and a sense of wonder In contrast, Game Over Online said that once the player leaves the capsule and arrives on the moon, instead of viewing colorful and wondrous sights, the game turns into a drab and unlikely bore. The puzzle aspect of Voyage met with mixed responses. On the other hand, GameSpot accused the puzzle aspects of Voyage of reducing Jules Verne's…

But, one of the main reasons I play adventure games is that I don't want to have to deal with the pressure of fast action or quick reflexes. However, not long into the game, you suddenly realize that it's getting a bit difficult to breathe, and a timer starts for you to figure out how to increase the oxygen level in your little capsule. Inevitably, the timer runs out before you find the right action, and your tragic death is announced. Of course, the timer…

For anyone interested in point-and-click adventure games I do recommend getting it though, especially because it is quite cheap with a coupon. I played this game back in 2006 I think and am very happy to see it on Steam since I lost my old copy of the game. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended. I've already played this game long long time ago, before Steam was created and, I recalled it as a good game. What I forgot is that this is one of the hardest adventure games I've ever played. Lot of imagination behind this game and, lots of headaches trying to progress in it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Nice story based on Michel Ardan's voyages. The game play is simple, but not always intuitive. Some puzzle demand more thinking and intuitions then others. Overall: 7.6 / 10 Voyage: Journey to the Moon is a title that deserved more popularity than it had gotten in my opinion. This is probably one of the reasons the game never received its sequel which is in my opinion a big shame, even although at the end of the game you are given a small teaser for it.…

Little to no explaination as to what you should do to progress. I got to the moon, three hours into it. I got stuck (for the millionth time) and quit after 15 minutes of clicking everything I could. There are also certain things you need to find for achievements, but it's extreamly easy to miss them. (Throw something important off of the shuttle perchance? It's okay, you can restart all…

For me, this game has a great animation and gameplay. The puzzle is good but it needs high creativity and thinking that makes the puzzle too hard sometimes. The two essential elements of life are present there: water and money. Everything is as 19th-century novelists (such as Jules Vernes and H.G. Wells) knew or fantasised. Played twenty years ago on CD-ROM.
