neutral · AI labelView post →Watched "We Can Be Heroes". Rodriguez film, so it's kinda Spy Kids with superheroes. Loads of celebs, sledgehammer messaging, silly nonsense for kids (as expected). Too many heroes lets it down, but otherwise good for a bit of fun. #filmsky www.imdb.com/title/tt1060...

We Can Be Heroes will screen on Friday in person, and my other faves, Grasshopper Republic and the Primevals, will be part of the fest's online edition (their in-person screenings have passed, whoops). I recommend watching all three!

USENET gonna grapple Xitter to the ground and tear its throat out with its teeth. Play Bowie's 'We Can Be Heroes' over top of the movie version.

neutral · AI labelView post →Smallest cub has taken to watching this pre-teen superhero movie on Netflix called We Can Be Heroes (Pedro Pascal is in it, woof) and I can confidently say that it contains the worst Bowie cover ever recorded, it might, in fact be the worst cover version of any song ever.
negative · AI labelView post →We Can Be Heroes: Was alright? Probably because I don't have nostalgia like some other kids movies, I think it is definitely a good movie for kids, the Lavagirl/Sharkboy return was funny. Disabled rep, variety for the main group, just sad it's another "mute character isn't mute! haha! :)" media.
