What players are saying

Maybe if this was my first horse game I might feel better letting some of the things that bugged me about it slide. Though not as pretty (not ugly either,) Star Stable is a better experience over Ostwind. Pros: -Picturesque aesthetics -Audio/ambience (hoofbeats change depending on ground) -Decent voice acting (though, I sped through most dialogue :P) -Horse leveling and skills -Horse care (I like and dislike this …

Alright so I have (at the time of writing this review) 3.4 hours play time of this game. And I have finished all the quests. I do recommend the game but I do have some pointers. Negative stuff The game is too short. After 3 and a half hour I have finished the quests. The story isn't very exciting. I won't go into details but you really don't have much of a plot in this game. Don't play it for the story. The game …

Great game for anyone who's looking for a casual, relaxing game. Has a few minor issues, but nothing that really gets in the way. -------Pros------- + Huge open-world map + Very relaxing and easygoing + Several locations to explore + Graphics are nice + Decent voice acting + Very solid gameplay -------Cons------- - Some minor bugs - Developers are too slow to fix simple problems - Missions are a little generic

I just love the visuals! Very nice environment indeed. The open world invites to be explored with Windstorm and it is just fun discovering unexpected sights :-) Controls need a little getting used to, but once you familiarized yourself with them, gameplay is a breeze :-) Definitely enjoyed Ostwind so far :)

I love to play this game just to relex after work. Go into Free Ride mode and let it rip on Ostwind. I could go witout the horse care part but its not a game stopper. If you are more into Horses i am shure you enjoy it more then me. Can recomend to any Horse fan out there.

Basically everything about it is mediocre but since it's really niche and small budget game is not too bad. The game is about you taking care of your horse and riding it in a huge open world map. There are missions like riding somewhere to take a photo of other animals, time trial races, obstacle courses, catching cows (I didn't know cows are faster and more agile than horses but whatever) or…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything in this game is super pretty, except for the horse and its animations. The missions get repetitive very quickly, the story mostly boils down to "welcome back Mika, let's do some chores". If the horse was at least well animated, I'd recommend this only for the option to ride around a beautiful open world, but as it is that just feels awkward. The Map is scanned from the original Locations in the movies. One of the best u can get in Horse-Genre Games. I´m a big fan of the movies 1-5. May, cause the locations of the movies are mostly in my homeland: Hessen. Play as the nice redhead Mika and his black wild-horse: Ostwind Engine, Graphics and the Story behind are great. Not worth the price at all, I do regret purchasing this one. It was kinda fun at first, if it wasn't for it being so repetitive with the story missions then maybe I would say yes. There are like 6 story missions that you play again and over again repetitively and other then that it gets really boring. Also I…

neutral · AI labelView post →The achievements do not work. I completed most of them seeing as some of them are story based achievements and I played through the whole game (in less than 4 hours, mind you...) and have gotten 0 achievements. It's completely broken. The game is short, there is no actual story (Honestly. There is no story. You just run errands for 4 hours and you're done. NO STORY.) I actually thought my game had bugged because I didn't have the next part of the "story" available to play, but...it turns out…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this under a millisecond because of how beautiful it looked. I also thought it would be heavily story based. I should have looked deeper than the cover though. In reality... I only bothered playing the game for half an hour until I got colossally bored. The game has voice acting, but the dialogue is played though boring pictures and text. Not to mention first the game begins with mind numbing tutorial. I really wish the game would have made you more involved... (maybe some choices and…

neutral · AI labelView post →After playing for half an hour I'm blown away by the beauty of the game, but I'm slightly disappointed by the horse animations (which commonly looks awful in horse games). The default control settings are terribly difficult but since there's a setting for traditional controls with WASD I can't really complain. I already found a lot of weird collisions when out riding freely and I almost get the feeling there's been some lacking QA testing sadly. Also I'm not a native English sepaker, but I've…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried my best to like Windstorm, but the technical issues make it a struggle to enjoy. At one point, the game broke so badly I couldn't progress and had to Alt+F4 just to escape. If you use a dual-monitor setup, be prepared for constant resolution changes, flickering and graphic bugs on your screens. Most importantly: the horse steering is extremely clunky and actually gave me motion sickness. Only buy this if you have a high tolerance for bugs and a very strong stomach. If you love horse…

neutral · AI labelView post →There's nothing much to do in the game other than explore the ranch. And it takes only a few hours to finish the game which consists of basic tasks, like chasing horses and finding missing cows and of course looking after Windstorm at the stable in between. It's an ok game and for what's worth, I would recommend it. Achievements seem to be fixed now, as one of the developers mentioned in the community hub. (By updating the game manually, check the forum how to do so).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice game if you like horses and riding! It's all about caring, doing racing challenges and exploring the open world with Ostwind/Windstorm. The visuals are beautifull and the gigantic level is stunningly detailed and passionate. I recorded a full play of Windstorm start of a great friendship remastered and nearly made a brutal takedown video of how bad it was, but stopped because I didn't want Khiimori to be affected. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy playing this game! However, the only thing I don't like about the game is when you have to catch the horse or cow that bolted or escaped. But overall, I love the game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice game, I recommend horse lovers <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous graphics and huge map to explore. The only thing I'm unhappy about is that the music is choppy, but that's probably because I'm playing on a standard laptop. Even on low graphic settings, the game is still beautiful. Highly recommended for horse lovers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Windstorm is a very good horse adventure and caring game. It reminds me of one of the app games I and my daughter had on the Kindle Fire, but with free roaming and actual missions as well as a storyline. You'll groom, care, and play with Windstorm to rejuvinate him before going out riding again. The graphics are beautfiully done and the gameplay is easy to learn. Enjoying it very much!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games where I wish there was some kind of in-between review I could leave. Instead of a simple thumbs up and thumbs down. Because there is a whole lot about this game that I liked and which also surprised me. However, I can't necessarily say that I would recommend it to a friend. What I did like: - The open world aspect of the game really surprised me. The map was decently large, with plenty going on in it to make it feel alive. It was satisfying to explore the map and…

Finishing the game took me 9 hours, planning the route for the speedrun lasted another 9 hours and the speedrun itself took more than 3.5 hours. It was a horrible experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Calling this a "game" is an understatement. The moment I loaded up and saw him standing there, Windstorm, the elegant beast which I get to lay my hands on, I instantly fell to my knees and sobbed. Tears of joy? Mostly, but also tears of sorrow for the millions who will never experience his beauty. My ancestors look down upon me, yearning to experience a fraction of what I have felt while bareback riding my beautiful Windstorm. He is mine, and I am his. Forever.
