Early critical response was mixed. Reviewers generally praised the scale and detail of the factory sets while criticizing the use of an AI recreation of Gene Wilder's voice and describing the challenges as formulaic. 19 of 19 · most liked firstJust once, I would like the Netflix audience to completely reject something clearly awful yet over-promoted. "Wonka's The Golden Ticket" would be a great show for that rejection. But nobody has ever lost money underestimating the taste of the Netflix subscriber-base.
