Normally I don't write reviews, but I feel like people need to be warned of how this game ends before they sink 50+ hours into it like I did. I have mixed feelings about this game. It's a mystery otome that's supposed to be story rich and plot oriented. That was my hook (that and Hijikata's voice actor 😁). The beginning was promising a compelling atmosphere, maybe a bit of horror. The setting is a small, insular village with its mysteries and a secretive ruling family (like a mob) closed off to the outside world. Can you imagine Higurashi otome? Well, …

I can't praise the story enough. A rich and very well put together story. There are some very funny conversations, for example at Yuzuki's walkthrough. The characters are very lovable and the sounds are also perfect. The game itself is pretty complex, it's not that easy to get all the achievements. For example, there is a happy ending, normal ending, bad ending 1, 2 - what I would expect from a game like this - but …

I wish Steam allowed some kind of "neutral" or "it depends" option. First off, the story: I enjoyed the story a lot. There were plotholes here and there, and it wasn't the best writing I've ever encountered in an otome game either, but all in all, it was very enjoyable and it did make me eagerly want to keep playing. The game focuses very heavily on the main story, and as for the romance aspect, there wasn't much. I personally don't mind this too much, but if you're the type of player that…

Did Some Instant 360 Plot Twists in My Brain With the Character Development I don't even know how to start this review, I always think of something. I am totally wtf over here and is struggling to rate this game as positive or negative. First of all, the whole VN has severe higurashi vibes, the whole secret village and organizations is present. Except it lacks the gore and logic of the Higurashi franchise the rest is sort of like the same. The story starts with a girl named Ichiko Hanamaki…

I’m writing this review veryyy impulsively because I’m FRUSTRATED. Why does this game have DRM!! Originally, I was planning on playing it on my laptop during a 5 hour train ride. Naturally, the train doesn’t have very consistent WiFi which I didn’t think would be an issue since it’s just a visual novel. When I tried to launch the game in offline mode, however, it came to my surprise the game doesn’t launch at all. WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ DO YOU NEED CONSTANT ONLINE CONNECTION FOR A VISUAL NOVEL WITH NO…

Okay, it looks pretty, has voice acting, an interesting trailer filled with pretty boys so you think to yourself "hey, I'll buy it" plus you can't really go wrong with mystery and horror games... only, it goes downhill real fast and really isn't what I expected. This is just a boring otome filled with cliches that crashes A LOT. So much I was furious throughout the whole thing because it wouldn't save well and you can't really just choose specific routes to see because some are locked…

Not bad, I will give it a 5.4/10. It's a bit boring becuz all the LI comes out to be a childhood friend or someone that they met in the past, like what the heck? It's getting a bit boring since everything is almost the same here. my most favourite character is Isora, I love him the moment I see him, and he even shared the same voice actor with Jigi from Crimson Flower. He is a little yandere , and I also like when he is mad or upset, his voice is deeper than his normal cheerful voice, and…

First of all, the port is horrendous as it crashes every few saves. CGs don't appear as they should. Saving will crash your game. As an otome game player, I resolved to play it anyway. I booted up my Vita so I could finally experience it all, and my god was I disappointed. I only managed to finish the GOOD endings, true ending+epilogue, and hidden ending. This game is miserable. The characters are pretty flat and underdeveloped in my opinion, save for Sosuke who made me laugh here and there.…

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL (SPOILER FREE) Don't get me wrong, the game is interesting, at least the plot keeps you entertained and wanting to discover more of the mysteries that involved the village and beyond. But the port they published is unplayable, it crashes all the time! So it is frustrating to the point of getting finished even one route. And it shocked me because Ideafactory is known for good visual novels/otomes. A shame they never fixed this problem. If you are looking for a good otome to play…

TL;DR The protagonist is naive and constantly puts herself in danger. The story is rather lackluster and predictable for a mystery Otome. Most of the characters follow a stereotype with a few of them having some form of twist. Choices you make have no impact later on in the game. If you make a wrong choice the story gets cut short. The voice acting, artstyle and music are well done and definitely the strongest point of the game. The romance has odd pacing and gets rushed near the end for most…

This game should serve as a standard for otome games. There are 7 separate routes with just enough meaningful choices, awesome visuals and soundscape. Naturally, the story is all we want and it's there - layered mystery, romance, fun. The only concern is crashing for an unknown reason, so i recommend to run it windowed and save every time there's a choice branching. Other than that, 7'sCarlet is an absolute must have for otome lovers

Well.. I feel as though there are many cheap tropes in the story, and it gave me a rather basic and generic experience. I do enjoy some moments, those which were humorous ones, but mostly I felt meh. I did not feel very drawn to the love interests, rather pushed. There are times where I felt as though the MC and whichever chosen love interest, sort of are thrown into what is supposed to be a romantic/bonding moment. But because it felt so oddly timed, coincidental or forced, I kinda grew tired…

Story and art is fantastic, but the game crashes so much while playing. Go buy it on the PSVita. *Upadte after 6 hrs in. still loving the story, so I'm gonna finish it, but the crashing is so annoying. I'm having to constantly save just in it decides to crash during the next scene. Sometimes it crashes while I'm saving, or just a black screen comes up and stays while it is trying to switch to the next scene, or it just randomly closes.

Note: This game does have technical issues, it kicked me out several times when I was playing and a couple when I was just saving. However, it wasn't enough to break the game for me. But some people might have worse experiences. So, be forewarned. This isn't the greatest otomes, I've ever played, but it has it's charm and merits, that I feel make it a decent entry into the otome genre. The progression of the routes on this game brings a lot of clarity on the mystery from the beginning. Although the first few routes- Hino, Isora and Toa (without True End) didn't reveal much about the mystery of the town, they made up for the good pacing & romance. Honestly, Sosuke's route was more of a filler content which could've been introduced within the other routes and was the most lackluster portion. Unexpectedly, Yuzuki's route easily became my favorite as it brought clarity to the…

One of those "I have no strong feelings one way or another but there is no 'maybe' button on Steam" kind of games. The art is pretty, though pretty awkward (proportions feel a bit off and it too...shiny? like plastic). Music is meh, but with some nice tracks (I liked main theme and Toa's concert melody - the piano one). It's not long, <20 hours to 100%. It crashed like 3 times - all of them when skipping and CG should've popped up. The full price is kind of high. Characters are...ok? Nothing…

First of all, holy sh*t the port of this game is terrible, i should have gotten on it on PsVita lol It keeps crashing when saving, when making choices, when skipping read text for too long and the menus are just terrible....That said... 7 Scarlet has an interesting Higurashi-like premise which could have been iconic if the execution followed the potential of its concept. The graphics look good for what they are too and I really enjoyed the animated bits, which is quite unique overall to see in…

This game intends to be a mystery romance otome game and fails at both mystery and romance. The mystery aspect only really unfolds during the span of the whole game, each route and ending gives you just a few more clues. The romance is immensely rushed (and the good endings are too passionate) and seems to rely on the fact that every love interest met or even fell in love with the protagonist when they were children. The stories of the routes that serve to incorporate mystery and romance are…

I'm very glad I got this game! I was very reluctant because everyone kept talking about the crashes... true, you might get some, and in my whole game play (with all routes and achievs) I got like 3 freeze screen+crash. So, the ideal is from two to two hours just save your game (not QS, real SAVE) and you'll be fine, there's no reason for you to miss this amazing otome game! This was actually my second playthrough (fist one on my PS Vita) and although you'll hear a lot that this not a good…

#1 ISSUES: Please, PLEASE fix your game! 1. It crashes AT RANDOM and the quick save does not work. My computer is perfectly fine. Just download your own game and play it for....maybe 20-40 minutes. The crashing gets worse if you Skip and even does it when you are in the menu screen and/or while saving. 2. I suggest changing the Menu key from to , which is more user friendly. 3. Also, background images will not load sometimes and I've discovered that it is an immediate indicator that the…

It pains me to give this a No. I will not lie, I did enjoy some routes. However, too much of it was... pointless? Normal? Not exciting enough? I honestly don't think I heavily enjoyed any of the routes or love interests until I got to Yuzuki. And the linear progression of the routes made it a different experience especially. I personally liked the IDEA of the linear progression, but the execution was not that great seeing as how I didn't particularly like any of the love interests until the…

If you like otome game with mystery, this game would be for you. The mystery is decent with each route reveals different secrets despite that some secret isn't even actually necessary for the story. You have to clear certain route(s) to unlock another one which will give more hints of what actually happened in the event prior the story of game. It's only repetitive in first few chapters, so I'm pretty okay with playing through it all. The songs and background music are decent. The CGs are…

A game that continues to crash every few minutes. You can crash as soon as under three minutes in. There are no Auto-Saves and your Quick Saves will get deleted the moment you crash. There are also freezing issues and you can't play this game offline. If you wish to torture yourself with continuously opening the game every 2 minutes or so, you can have FUN with this one!!! And yes, this issue is known for years already and no one even cares to fix it. So nothing new there.

This game was a chore to finish. I didn't like any of the characters, most of the routes have a similar structure, and the mystery was rather obvious. Maybe it's just me, but I guessed the culprit and a handful of twists in other character's routes after finishing my first route in the game. Which is fine. My issue was more with the writing than the overall story. It's an old game, but I really think it could have been better? It felt like one of those free otome games you play on your phone…

I’ve just finished 7’scarlet, and I think it’s one of the most captivating otome games I’ve played. This mystery-themed visual novel strikes a delicate balance between suspense and romance, set in the atmospheric, folklore-rich village of Okunezato. While it’s not without flaws, the overall experience is one I won’t forget anytime soon. The plot revolves around Ichiko Hanamaki, who travels to Okunezato to uncover the truth behind her brother’s disappearance. Each chapter brings a mix of…

It's time to play some otome. This one isn't very popular, but its author was a Deadly Premonition producer, so it sounded somewhat intriguing at least. And I simply love stories about small towns/villages with local legends and mysterious murders or disappearances. I'd say the game was better than I expected, seeing such a lukewarm reception. Yes, I kept thinking "nothing special" during the first couple of routes, but I never wanted to drop it, and it was interesting enough to keep my…

This is only my secound otome game, but it's the first one I've actually completed. If you are a sangfroid snob who's typically a bit leery-eyed about this genre, like myself, then I should say it is a good starter game to test such waters. Mystery murder plot, romantic routes, non-spicy. The LIs are... tolerable, I suppose, but it is the romance involving the brother that is truly the most natural and fulfilling. The MC would likewise agree. If only there were a select salacious oeuvre…

This game is probably my favourite otome game that I have played during lockdown and I have played a fair few. The artwork is great. The voice acting is great. The different storylines that all connect are amazing. I was telling my friends about this game while I was playing it and they loved the sound of the world building. Now I did use a guide to ensure I was playing each route in the appropriate order which did help to get the best impact of the story. If you are interested in…

Speedy Review Speedy run through of pros, cons and some ranting PROS - CG's - Music - Art style in general - VA is pretty good - Can save on decision screen CONS - Most of the routes were no more than mediocre - Pacing for almost all of the routes were off, goes from 0-100 near the end - Didn't really like any of the endings except for the "True Ending" - Game is way too short and has little replayability, I've finished all routes except 1 in 21h - 25$ price tag in light of all previous…

UPDATE : After finishing the game 100% I have to give this game a bit more credit than I did on my previous review. Wow, the story blew me away. They didn't leave any plot holes if you decide to play the whole story. I don't want ruin anything but get ready from some tear jerking story lines and some bitter sweet endings. As a Visual novel 5/5. As a game overall 4/5. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (OLD REVIEW) This is a well made visual novel otome game. The art is great, the voices…
