Anyone for a cup of tea? A Tavern for Tea is made by npckc, a solo developer based in Japan. Very short visual novel about being an owner of a tea house that opens at night. The main story involves three characters - an adventurer, a demon lord and the tea tavener. The adventurer and demon lord have met each other under very different circumstances whilst they were adventuring. The main objective of the story is to …

Ah Tea my favourite drink. This is a cute little game. You are a Tavern owner who only serves Tea, and why wouldn't you it is the best drink around after all. You will meet two customers from very different backgrounds, who don't have the best history with each other. Can you brew the right combination of tea to get these two to stay long enough to actually hear each other out. Its a very short little game, bearing …

"A TAVERN FOR TEA" is the latest story by npckc, the creator of feel-good hits such as "A YEAR OF SPRINGS", "a letter of challenge", and "Mima and Nina's Chocolate Workshop". It's intentionally short, but accomplishes exactly what it was designed to do without needless padding: it make you care about two characters from completely different upbringings that are each hoping for the best but assuming the worst, unable …

neutral · AI labelView post →A TAVERN FOR TEA is a fantasy, adventure visual novel developed and published by npckc. You take on the role of a tavern owner, but instead of serving alcohol, you brew and serve tea. As you're going about running the tavern, an adventurer enters and looks a bit lost, admitting to you that he was intrigued by the sign outside the tavern that invites people to have tea but once they enter, they're simply customers, all to be treated equally. Anyway, after you brew and serve him a cup of tea,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, especially since it’s similar to coffee talk…. Or at least that’s what the description made me think. You do serve guest tea (only 2 characters) … but you also have to solve some kind of puzzle or else you’ll be in stuck in an infinite loop like I was for 30 mins trying to figure out how to move forward …(even unlocking half the tea recipes which isn’t a lot given there are only 6 ingredients… this is MEH. Played on steam deck! It is playable but not the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NPCKC strikes again, this time in a Tavern setting. You‘re the owner of a Tavern that has been open for longer than anyone can remember, always brewing just the right tea for your customer. (Without having a menu!)A Tavern For Tea is the shortest game NPCKC has released, but that doesn‘t mean it lacks in anything the previous games had. Quite the contrary is the case, it references the previous two games making it fun to think back and speculate on how and if they‘re connected. Even if this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Small, short, cute game. It took me a while to figure out what I needed to do to proceed with the story, but I eventually figured it out. Maybe because I thought I could branch out depending on the tea I make, but it turned out it's more linear, and I need to do what the game is asking me to do. The fast-forward button made it much easier to restart the game every time, thank you for including it! Anyways, good job on making, finishing, and releasing a game :) This is not easy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the cozy concept of this game, but the plot is VERY short, and play is mostly repeating the same day until you make the correct tea choices. Despite there being many teas you can mix, only a small handful are relevant to the plot. I also really struggled to figure out which teas to pick with no hints and very little guidance.

neutral · AI labelView post →A Tavern for Tea is very brief visual novel about unlikely friendships. Although having to repeat actions over to progress the story should make an already short game feel somewhat padded, instead it’s used as a chance to repair a missed connection. I generally really like bartending/coffeehouse themed visual novels and even though A Tavern for Tea may not be one of very best the genre has to offer, it’s still a solid cozy story.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game with chill music and characteristic art as always from this dev. Here we get the concept of talking to guests and brewing drinks for them that's been done before, but it still works nicely. It's much shorter, simpler and imo has better writing than Coffee Talk (ymmv, I found that game overrated). Though that one weird "So now I am going to reveal my secret to the player" monologue was... weird, felt out of place. Gameplay was simple; I found it a bit confusing at first and a bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super quick, adorable little tea-brewing sim. It's like a tiny, more cartoony, version of Coffee Talk.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like fantasy, I like tea, and I like taverns. It's a VERY short game. The game is about two customers, and you only have to brew like 4 different teas, + whatever trial and error gets you there. I finished it in around half an hour. It's a bit annoying that the (short) second part of the story is locked behind the same requirement as a hidden achievement. If I hadn't been looking up how to get the achievement, I would not have brewed every possible tea. Unfortunately, I cannot resist…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cute, short little game about brewing tea. Serve the right (or wrong at times) kind of tea, get them to open up, talk to one another. Who knows, a friendship might blossom and you might save the world, all over a cup of tea.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely short game with nice writing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very charming game. It is a simple visual novel where you are a tea taverner that listens to people, does not judge, and tries to heal their spirit with a good blend and a little bit of meddling. In this specific case, there is an adventurer and a demon lord, and a supposed rivalry that it's not what is seems. Ypur goal is to blend the right tea in different moments, to get the story in motion. The text repeats in the multiple instances, so it's nice to have a fast forward mode.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really short, simple and easy game for those looking to relax, make some tea for the 2 customers and listen to their conversations. It's simple, straight forward and if you're looking for that type of game then this'll fit nicely!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very cute and most importantly gay romp. The art style is very pleasant. It's a bit short, but well worth it for the three euro. A very sweet heartmelter.

A demon lord decides to take time off from his job kidnapping a princess to get a cup of tea. Both hero and villain arrive at the same tea tavern. You play the role of the tea-maker who picks different combinations of ingredients to make different beverages. Your job is to concoct the tea recipe that inspires the right emotions in your customers to advance the story. Can the perfect cup of tea get even…

positive · AI labelView post →Cute game. I struggled a bit at first because I didn't realize the steps I needed to take to progress the plot. Turns out saying "no" to brewing tea for either was the key. Seems so simple in retrospect. I still tried all the tea combos before taking that next step. It was fun seeing these two different characters realize just how warped their perceptions of each other were.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, short, cozy interactive fiction game with a very simple tea-making feature. The hints for the tea recipes are pretty vague, but also very easy. My excessive playtime is just due to playing in a language I'm not good at, so if you're not doing that it'll surely be much quicker for you. Anyway, nice game, nice minimalist art, nice deadpan humor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short and sweet story that left me smiling. If you liked Coffee Talk I'd heavily recommend this shorter, lighter take.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looked like a promising cozy game with cute art that would be similar to potion simulators where you figure out recipes incrementally etc. Maybe it is... I don't know because I am over it sadly. The game didn't feel cozy because it centers around the most socially awkward interactions that are still surface level and didn't really make much sense as a tavern owner. The way you play you just endlessly repeat the same day (maybe til everything goes right?) but its got only 6…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a fun little cute game. It's short but neat. I like the dialogue and the designs are very sweet. I like the name for the tea blends as well. I recommend for anyone looking for something quick, chill, and wallet friendly. Plus for achievement hunters, it has 5 achievements so it won't take up a lot of your time lol. The music is also chill.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite devs on steam for sure. This concept was new and refreshing a time looping drink mixing game. however, I wish there were more than two days to play through in the story. As usual the story is nice and sweet though keep it up npckc

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and short game about very different people finding common ground to get closer to each other through tea. It's vute, but way too short. Could've been longer, I wanted to see more of the relationship between hero and demon.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the game from @npckc - a short visual novel about a Tavern that serves tea for the people who needs it! This is really a cute little game. I love how cheeky and mischievous the tavern owner are! The game is simple, we brew tea with a lot of different variations of ingredients. And we see how the tea affects our patrons (two of them in this game, at least). We also make sure our patrons can connect with each other, with a good (or very specific) tea, and see how their relations…
