Abiotic Factor is a deeply conflicting experience. The first sector is fantastic, but as you progress, its brilliant moments and innovative mechanics gradually get buried under layers of backtracking, micromanagement, and a clumsy interface. There are many moments where the game contradicts itself, for example: You may defeat a well‑armed enemy, only to find you’re not allowed to pick up their gun. You may find a …

I am honestly floored by Abiotic Factor. I went in expecting another generic survival game, but what I found is arguably one of the most cohesive and immersive survival game I’ve played in years. At 81 years old, most people expect me to spend my evenings knitting sweaters or falling asleep in front of the weather channel. Instead, I’m playing Abiotic Factor like a retired scientist who escaped the nursing home and immediately joined a paranormal disaster. This game is absolute chaos and I mean that in the best possible way. Nothing prepares you for the experience of being an 81-year-old man running around a secret underground facility hitting alien creatures with office furniture…

I have been waiting to write a review until I got so far into the game/finished it. But after 120 hours, I think I have to say I am loving this game! The immediate feeling is of a modern Half-Life, getting stuck in an underground facility that's full of monsters and military, with parkour and puzzles. In short, it’s worth every penny. An absolute masterpiece. If you’re a fan of Half-Life’s atmosphere and style, enjoy a good story, and like survival games, this game is perfect. Besides being multiplayer, I believe its best feature is that it doesn’t hold the player’s hand (as most modern games do). Did you guys run out of money, did you have some dumbass deadline for your release, like Hades 2 had with the Nintendo Switch version? Did your main…

If you guys enjoyed my Lycan concept I was a creature designer on Abiotic Factor! I got to help on quite a few including the Composer. The team did a wonderful job and look amazing in game. @abioticfactor.com @deepfieldgames.bsky.social

A masterpiece in modern gaming. More half life than half life. More SCP than SCP. This game is just everything.

I held off from buying Abiotic Factor because I felt like 30 dollars was a bit steep. After playing I would say the game is well worth the price and will more than make up for it in gameplay.
