Not actually the Enhanced Edition on PC — major features missing! I bought this expecting the Enhanced Edition that exists on consoles, but the PC version is missing one of its core features: the Story Mode / No Monsters accessibility option. Every guide and console version shows a “Gameplay → Story Mode (No Monsters)” toggle that lets players experience the story without monster encounters. This is a big part of …

Among the Sleep is a game that shows the world in a simple but very powerful way through the eyes of a small child. The whole experience has something quietly sad and unsettling about it, because under the light horror layer there is a story about family problems and their impact on a child's mind. You can feel a breakdown in relationships in the background, which affects everyday life and the sense of safety. What …

Exploring Among the Sleep feels less like playing a game and more like navigating a beautifully crafted, yet deeply unsettling, dreamscape. It is a rare horror title that trades cheap jump-scares for a thick, dark atmosphere that feels exactly like a "childish fever dream." First of all, the design: There is a profound level of empathy in the game's art and allover design here. It’s clear that the developers – many …

I appreciated the emotional story telling and how it portrayed trauma, and the gameplay/puzzles were entertaining enough without being overly complex. If you are only here for puzzles, etc and don't really care for emotions/symbolism/story, probably should pass on it. If you are here for the story, its worth it, but fair warning, it may stir up negative feelings if you relate to the household.

I’d say it’s more of a creepy toddler simulator than anything actually scary, you wake up in your house at night and your mum is missing and the whole point is basically trying to find her with the help of a talking teddy bear, you explore normal household spaces but also some really strange and eerie areas that feel like a dream or nightmare, it is quite fun but a shame how short it is, I finished it and got 100% in under 5 hours. Worth picking up, especially on sale, 7/10

I remember watching gameplay of this game as a kid, thinking it was just like any other horror game at the time, so I had planned I would play it when I grew up. Here we are and I finally did so. But I wasn't here for the scares anymore. I was here for the story, and it was pretty good and an original take. It's pretty emotional if you try to be in the protagonist's shoes and try to understand how they feel about their situation. There's a piece of truth and reality in this game. Game…

Teddy is going to get you! But that's another game... I don't know what's more creepy the teddy bear or the fact that a mother gave her child this creepy ass teddy bear! Most, if not everyone has had nightmares of some kind, if you don't or haven't experienced a nightmare then you either haven't had a reason to, forgot ever having one, or you're a psychopath of some kind. Anyhoo, I'm not especially fond of very many Horror games. Most of them are more about jump scares and don't do…

Woah does my head still hurt from high levels of stress with this one! I love unreliable narrators, I did not trust that bear one bit! The atmosphere in here was creepy as hell, causing paranoia, lots of little creepy sounds that you don't even know where they're coming from; confusing you and backing you into a corner. I think this game is a great example of how little Metacritic scores can matter. It definitely doesn’t deserve a score as low as 66. The game is built around a unique idea, experiencing horror through a child’s perspective, and delivers a really compelling experience, with moments that genuinely make you feel tense. I played it years ago, and I’m replaying it now. Even today, it still holds up well. I definitely recommend it.

This is another game that I bought almost ten years ago, and have no idea why. It's just been sitting in my Steam backlog for ages, and I finally decided to play it. This is basically Amnesia: The Dark Descent, except you play as a baby, and are running from your drunk mom who takes the shape of some sort of salad-fingers looking shadow demon, or something like that. It's creative, doesn't seem like an asset flip, and is original, but that still doesn't make up for the fact that it's a walking…

A classic when it comes to horror games. It's pretty good, especially for people who haven't really played many horror games before. I can definitely see how it could be pretty scary for beginners, but if you've already played a lot of horror games, it's probably not that scary anymore. The atmosphere is probably the strongest part of the game. The story is pretty predictable and basic, but it works well for what the game is trying to do. I think it's a game you should definitely play, because…

So I launched it, and I was honestly amazed at how good this game was. The visuals are very good and the gameplay is quite fun too. The puzzles aren’t too boring and not too difficult either. The atmosphere is honestly one of the best I think exists in the gaming industry. But there is still one downside that’s important to know before buying this game. I…

This game was an interesting horror experience. I think it explores the nature of childhood anxiety or trauma and has clever ways of doing this. I like some of the details the game takes note of (like how all the text you see looks foreign since he wouldn't know how to read yet). It's what sets it apart from others in this category. At the same time, I don't think it provides anything particularly exciting. The game falls short of fully utilizing some mechanics that had more potential too,…

Among the Sleep is a beautifully emotional and haunting horror experience that hits harder than most games in the genre! You play as a small, 2-year old child exploring a dark, distorted world that reflects fear, confusion, and the emotional scars of a troubled home. Seeing everything from the eyes of a toddler makes even simple moments feel tense! The story tackles themes of neglect, fear, and parental struggles in a surprisingly mature way. It's not just for scares, but rather uses its…

Cutting to the chase, this game is a technical disaster and my experience is that it’s completely broken and unplayable without editing files. There were a ton of issues, including my controller not working until I enabled Steam input, multiple instances of getting stuck, no saves, no checkpoints, broken progression, some minor graphical issues, and triggering issues for climbing. I think this is a very well made and creative game. Playing a horror game through the eyes of a child is in my knowledge not done often. The game is not too difficult and when compared to other horror games pretty easy to play through. Finding all the drawings is definitely more of a challenge, they are not always easy to find. Way too boring. The first 10 minutes seemed promising, but it turned into a mediocre walking simulator with small "puzzles" that require no thought. The toddler's slow walking speed also doesn't help. And as many others have pointed out, the save system is misleading, as the checkpoints only work if you die. If you decide to quit and continue later, you'll have to play from the beginning of a chapter again.

It is a really short game, and not super challenging, but I think it all ties in super well to the story, because as a baby you can't do much! And it is made really well in that regard to make you feel the vulnerability of being a lil baby that can't do much other than run (crawl) and hide! I would recommend this game as something just for purely the experience and the broadening on your world view. p.s I was playing this game when streaming and it STRUGGLED a bit on the highest resolution…

This game isn't really amazing. Lets start off with the main issue, the amount of glitches. On multiple occasions I got softlock on random objects (ex a random wooded pallet in the caves) and was even hardlocked once while "inserting memories" causing me to restart. Another glitch that I had encountered while playing through the game were objects such as block and yoyos, etc.. I know unimportant objects phasing through the floor isn't game ruining but it really starts to expose the bad parts of…

Game that follows nightmares of a toddler whose parents got into a divorce due to domestic violence, after which the mother became an alcoholic. There`s a teddy that accompanies you on the journey, but he`s not very comforting most of the time. It`s a short little game, there are a couple of `jump scares` as well as some chases involved. Nothing crazy but not for the faint of heart.

Among the Sleep proves you don’t need jump-scares or combat to create real horror. Experiencing the world through the eyes of a toddler is such a bold idea, and the game commits to it fully — everything feels oversized, distorted, and deeply unsettling in a way that’s subtle but powerful. The atmosphere is incredible. Creeping through dark hallways, hiding in cupboards, clutching your teddy for comfort — it taps into a very specific, very human kind of fear. Not monsters jumping out, but…

The game although short is a cute and spooky playthrough that many could enjoy. The game does touch on topics like substance abuse and parental abuse so keep that in mind. The game does one thing well and that's tension since you play as such a small character a lot of the monsters and more heart pounding moments are only made worse by your lack of mobility. At times the game can jump back and forth from puzzles to a more survive the monster aspect so if that's not really your thing make sure…
