Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 185 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (769 of 807 positive).
Players praise the game as a fun, challenging retro platformer with great music and fan service. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the difficulty can be frustrating but fair, with adjustable difficulty options. [4][5][6] A few players criticize bugs, lack of cloud saves, or missing features like swear death screens. [7][8][9]

A challenging retro style platformer that's fun, has a catchy soundtrack, and features quite a few old school gaming references. You also use a NES Zapper as your weapon, which is awesome. 😎 I used to watch AVGN back in the day, so it's kinda cool to be able to play as the foul-mouthed nerd. I did have a couple of bugs though, one where the title screen didn't show up but the music kept playing, and the other was …

Awesome improved versions of two already awesome games! I played the original AVGN game when it was first released, made with Clickteam Fusion, as a long time fan of the YouTube series I loved every second of it, I understood every reference and it was a difficult but very fun game! I highly recommend this pack including 1 + 2 to anyone who likes retro platformers and shooters, the soundtrack, pixel art and level …

Given that this is a compilation the two official AVGN games, it has to have some quality-of-life improvements which I embraced. For one, the flood of death blocks, especially in AVGN I, was a source of frustration for many. Thankfully, they have been cut down in the DX edition, especially on lower difficulties. And despite playing this compilation on Easy, some levels forced me to be really good at platforming. …

I'd rather eat the rotten ahole of a roadkill skunk than leave a negative review on an AVGN game. The controls, music, and graphics are awesome. Gameplay is challenging and fun. Definitely a good game for fans of the Nerd.

10/10 adjustable difficulty for those that want an easier or harder playthrough. Music is catchy and enjoyable, if you are a fan of AVGN and platforming with collectibles and difficult levels/bosses these games are worth playing through! If you already own the original games I would still recommend this collection of both games since the first one is updated in the second game's engine and has 3 extra levels with a …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks! It's like every bad game ever made got together and they all took turns ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. I'd rather stick my ♥♥♥♥ in a beehive than keep playing this ♥♥♥♥, I'd rather drink from an outhouse toilet, I'd rather get barebacked by a cactus. The only thing I want to do to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ♥♥♥♥ is cover it in my diarrhea because it's the most rancid pile of fecal ♥♥♥♥ to ever spawn out of the rotten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of satan himself 10/10 peak gaming

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like an LJN adaptation of AVGN. It's ass.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even if you've never heard of AVGN, this game is a really good game. The challenge is a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at times, but that's kinda the point of the game. A lot of the humor will be lost on the people playing who've never heard of the franchise before this. However, if you can ignore all of that, it's a really solid remaster of two really solid games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they removed doug walker 0/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played both the Xbox and steam versions of this game and I can not get enough of it if you want the ultimate AVGN challenge you have to get this collection (also wishlist the AVGN 8-bit that's coming just saw the announcement trailer)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not play old-school platformers. I've never liked them, but this game is ADDICTING. It's so much fun to play. It challenges you in all the right ways yet it'll never feel downright impossible or defeating. You'll yell at times, you'll flinch, you'll triumphantly cheer. It's a short game with lots of replay value as you'll want to up the difficultly and play it over again, collecting items and power-ups along the way. The soundtrack is a banger too, especially the nightmare level with it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely worth the price, very fun and challenging! If you're into 2D run-and-gun platformers, then this game is for you. There were a lot of varieties of different stages and bosses. If you want to get all of the achievements, good luck not trying to rage due to some of the stage designs... seriously, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do recommend it if you are a fan of the show, altough i have to seriously mention that it doesnt allow you to save your progress in cloud. for a platformer THAT IS BULLSH*T
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game makes me wanna eat the rotten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a roadkill skunk and down it with beer

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been a fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd (or, "AVGN", for short) since I first saw his angry game reviews on YouTube during the summer of 2006. At the time, I was going through an extremely bad breakup and was feeling incredibly depressed and hopeless. However, upon watching AVGN's review of the original TMNT on NES (his first video I ever saw), I found myself laughing at the crude, vulgar humor. While it did not make me feel completely better, it at least cheered me up a little bit. In…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a lot of fun in this game, and I can't believe I've missed out on this game. And I can replay this game as much I want.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My recommendation comes with a couple asterisks! The most important one, independently of if you like the AVGN or not, the most important thing to ask yourself is if you enjoy oldschool 2D games. That also includes the difficulty aspect of them. If you do. then heck yeah these games are quite fun and worth your money. Now, if you enjoy 2d games, and enjoy AVGN, these games are amazing love letters to the history of it. So even more recommended! Game works great on the steam deck, and if you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most satisfying and replayable platformers I've ever played. but what were they thinking with the keyboard controls?! I'd rather lick the ♥♥♥♥ off the pavement while it's been out for 3 days and drink nothing but piss during that than play this with keyboard again. if you have a controller, this is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I´ve been a fan of the AVGN for many years, so I've wanted to beat this remastered collection (plus extra chapter) for the longest time. I finally got it during the 2026 Summer Sale, and I'm so glad I did! What a fun experience this has been: Tight controls, cool mechanics and upgrades, and level design that can surely be challenging at times, but the generous amount of checkpoints makes it so fun! I wish other games were as generous with the checkpoints as this one. I'm also very glad about…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished all of the levels in Adventures except the last one. I suspect this is meant to be the most difficult one. The game is great. I am a casual fan of the series of gameplay videos, but I knew enough to get a lot of the jokes. It is fun, and I appreciate that the save points are sprinkled liberally. This means you can work on your timing without replaying whole chunks of a level over and over again. A fitting tribute to the show and a fun game on its own.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was such a fun game, and that was with me playing it with stick drift. It was hard and a lot of secrets I missed, but it is so much fun going through both a history of games AND history of the channel. This is a pretty decent little platformer even if you aren't an AVGN fan. The difficulty levels are appropriate and decently spread out for skill, and at no time did I feel I was running into an insurmountable wall. The music is fun, the art style is fun. This isn't just a nostalgia game,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best versions of the AVGN games, nice quality of life features life difficulty options, screen options, quicker gameplay, a streamlined story and 3 new levels. The gameplay is similar to Mega Man and Mega Man X, the soundtrack is very good, graphics are nice, colorful and the game is full of references and fanservice for AVGN fans. This game is well worth it especially for fans
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ultimate avgn experience, very enjoyable for any fan of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerd :avgn:
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first being in "Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe", and second being in "Spectacular Sparky"

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the first game on 3DS and enjoyed it, these two for the price is a good deal and it's got a bunch of references packed in, would recommend for the diehard AVGN fan. Pretty great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →...Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe, Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, PowerSlave: Exhumed, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Holocure: Save the Fans!...
neutral · AI labelView post →As a fan of AVGN, this is a blast to play. But even without that element, this is a fantastic shooter/platformer with tight controls. Classic style but modern polish. And the soundtrack is a banger. Only reason to avoid it is if you're sensitive to bad language. Given the source material, there's a LOT of it so be warned. It's very over the top for comedic effect but it's there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →b ready 2 die! lol but u kniow u can do beter!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i got an erection over this game, an erection so huge that it drew all the blood from the rest of my body and i fainted, only to wake up and find myself lying dead on the floor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game made me die lots of times, it made me an Angry Video Game Nerd
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun almost done with the first game. do not play around family
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little too hard even at Normal difficulty but still fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very old school, awesome music and graphics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We need more of this. The lack of games like this in modern times is why we are where we are lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of a "revision" than a "remaster" between tweaked levels (most notably some instant-death traps being nerfed) and the removal of non-Cinemassacre Internet figures and AVGN Movie elements in favor of the theme song in its full glory and the late great Gilbert Gottfried. However, it's not necessarily one I object to, especially between this version's great all-new levels and the originals still being available for purchase.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm halfway through the first game, and its a blast to play. Its a lot like MegaMan The videos and sceenshots on Steam dont do the graphics justice, the game is super colorful, and the lighting/shading adds a polish that makes it more interesting. The gameplay is fast and fluid, and the music is really good. There are a lot of hilarious references to the show, and quips only Mike and James could come up with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't think about it! Just buy it!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More like AVGN 1+2 ream-ass-turd. The audios so limited to ♥♥♥♥, its like having a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear. The gameplays fun though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not coming back. Rebalance my draconic ass! didn't do much of reblanacing. Going to unplayed for the time now on. Yeah AVGN fan but there difference between hard and just letting everyone have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game experence. Seems didn't learn from last time. Easy mode just like hard mode. Good for AVGN Hard core fan but causal i wouldn't recommend. Delux of ♥♥♥♥ what should been. Staying off my steam deck and PC from now on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE THIS GAME!!! It took me nearly 5 hours total to complete the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Insanely challenging, but not unfair. Tons of easter eggs and in jokes to Cinemassacre and AVGN fans alike. Tons of difficulties to choose from, lots of replayability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, the game is hard so good luck to anyone that plays this game. 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fans of AVGN will like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It sucking ♥♥♥♥♥, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blows, it's a piece of ♥♥♥♥...and I love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What do you get when you take a Youtube channel that's ASS and you make it into a game? You get a piece of ♥♥♥♥! Oh wait, wrong game... these ones are good!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably the most mixed I have felt in awhile. This game is definitely based on those old NES games... even to their faults of poor design at times. The first game was infamous for this so much that for the version of AVGN1 in this bundle, they made several changes to the levels to get rid of some of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I played both games in [Old School] mode to get a feel for the original difficulty of the games, especially with AVGN1. I also 100% all three chapters for context. (All…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of monkey ♥♥♥♥. I wouldn't be caught wiping my ass with this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Whoever designed this complete mess of a game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Still not as bad as anything LJN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cooked up. (All jokes aside, this is an amazing game, and the soundtrack is spectacular. Seriously, do yourself a favor and pick up this game's soundtrack, you won't be disapointed.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game for fans of the AVGN series. Especially his older videos. A pretty good game. When Covid hit, AVGN is a show I chose binge watch and frankly, I don't know how I went that long without seeing the series. It's quite funny and smart. Some of my favorite quotes come from those older episodes, although there is a lot of good recent episodes too. The game is a great mega man style 2D platformer with high action and lots of jokes. Think Conker's Bad Fur Day meets classic Mega Man. A game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good yes yes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anybody remember addictinggames.com? Well this is an addicting game. And it runs on just about any computer with a game, so anyone can play it. If your PC can play SNES games, you can play this. If you're a fan of AVGN or classic side-scrolling platformers and shooters and don't mind throwing a few "F Bombs", then you're gonna enjoy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after getting all achievements (playing on old school difficulty) i can say this is the HARDEST game ive played. minus all the bs and hard as balls levels, this was great. wanted to play this for a while and it is most definetly not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ♥♥♥♥. highly reccomend if you want a great platformer and something to get you pissed off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it wasn't a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that sucked ass it was peak
