I really want to be able to recommend this game. I loved it a lot as I was playing, but there is a feature in this game that is antithetical to everything I found fun in it. I don't consider this spoilers, but if you're particularly cautious you might not want to read ahead, but this game has a time limit. perhaps that doesn't seem so surprising, after all your sister is missing and who knows what might happen to …

From apothecary to alchemist in 3 years - the game Atelier Ayesha is the first game in dusk trilogy originally released in 2012. It introduces new characters and world. Like all other Atelier games this one is similar but has its differences as usual. You play as Ayesha, an apothecary who synthesizes medicine for townspeople. Her sister gone missing, assumed dead and Ayesha come to her grave to put some flowers when …

The first game in the Dusk trilogy and imo the perfect starting point for the Dusk games. It really makes you appreciate all the small nods to the previous games when you play Escha & Logy afterwards. Musically the game is gorgeous with amazing tunes for any situation: Be it combat, emotional scenes, area music, it all just fits so well. It has one of my all-time favorite OSTs of video games. I also think the …

It is unfortunate to see something as unique as Ayesha went somewhat off the radar by JRPG fans. It's certainly one of my top 3 Atelier games of all time and it's one of the best JRPGs I've ever played too. Everything about this game seems to have been made with passion from the team; from its music, stories and characters all the way up to gameplay. Most other Atelier games have very shallow plots and storylines …

- Amazing soundtrack - Great story - Memorable characters - Multiple endings - Great voice acting In Atelier Ayesha you have a 3 year time limit to save your sister Nio. Some won't like the time limit but for me it created a sense or urgency, fitting nicely with the story and immersed me into the world. Its plenty of time as long as you register items/bombs you made at the shops for easy restocking because time …

60 of 264 · most liked firstAll I'm asking for is a game with basically the same framework as the "Atelier" series circa "Atelier Ayesha", except instead of a teenager with a cottagecore travelling workshop you're a thirtysomething burnout doing grey-market transmutation from the back of a van. Is that really so much to want?

neutral · AI labelView post →Good game, but a really bad port. Constant stuttering and very unstable framerate when doing just about everything. Also don't open the manual from in-game, it will make you unable to get back into the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →oh.. i didn't know Atelier Ayesha have a time limit D: game ends when you take too long which is a problem cuz i like grinding collecting items, killing monsters, leveling up, doing quests... > o < having to do all of that again is discouraging :(
negative · AI labelView post →thanks to a friend; i can change the date in Atelier Ayesha game using cheat engine so i can play the game without time limit!!! i'm so happy 💖
positive · AI labelView post →Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk DX Highly Recommend! My 1st Atelier game & it was so much fun. A cozy JRPG with a very silly (endearing) protagonist. Has a good, but not too high stakes plot. Very lively cast of characters & nice art. Will definitely be playing the rest of the Dusk trilogy 🎮

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My metric for how much I like an Atelier game is strangely linked to how long the dresses are. Atelier Ayesha? Heat. Atelier Marie? Adorable. Atelier Shallie and Sophie? Really good! Ryza? Sexual harassment, not even in the conversation
positive · AI labelView post →Seeking the truth about Alchemy with Atelier Ayesha. Follow me as I revisit a video game I previously misunderstood, Atelier Ayesha! Will I find the truth about what this game actually wanted to do? Will I finally enjoy it, despite its quirkiness? Or... did I replay this to no avail? Only one way to know...

The setting and a few of the…
neutral · AI labelView post →Atelier Ayesha is my favorite Atelier game, I have played many Gust's games, and I love the Ar Tonelico series; Atelier Ayesha is the game that comes closer to AT than any other. From the themes, music, and characters all gives Ar Tonelico feelings that I don't get in any other atelier game. It also helps that it's a good game overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah. After playing Sophie and falling in love with, i tried Ryza. And i really dont like the path the overall design was going. So, i tried to go back and play older atelier games. This is how i got into Ayesha. To be honest, this game gives me somewhat mixed feelings. The setting is great, the companions and people you encounter in your path to become an alchemist are fine and overall presentation of the game, including the intro, videos, art and the OST are amazing. Its kind of hard to put…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed Ayesha's journey to saving her sister! And have witnessed the true ending. Seeing her grow and interact with other characters was heartwarming, and all the characters were great. The alchemy and the turn-based combat were fun too! Ayesha & Wilbell are so cute and funny together. The music and the world were beautifully crafted! Note that this game has a time limit so everything you do must count but it's not too hard.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I ran into serious technical issues, rendering the game all but unplayable. Once you enter combat once, for the rest of the play session, certain essential menus (e.g. taking an order) display only a black screen. Quitting the game completely will resolve it... until you get into combat again. Checking the forums shows that this issue was reported years ago, and not addressed. Apparently you can workaround by playing in windowed mode, but I'm not going to spend time testing to make sure that…

The game is making me really hope we get a 4th Dusk game someday. Atelier Wilbell (we still need to meet and contract with the Earth Spirit!) or Atelier Ayesha 2 needs to happen 🎮

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm placing this review down pretty late, but relized I never made one and wanted to. This was my first Atelier game I ever played, and a great introduction to the series for me. I absolutly loved it. The characters and writing are all fantastic. The whole game feels like a really well made slice of life story in a fantasy setting, with some occasional serious stakes and personal goal seeking around the main plot and a couple character side storys. The ost is also all around fantastic.…

Incredibly fun and polished. I loved Ayesha, and I personally loved how Hard mode actually made the alchemy harder. Hard difficulty is genuinely tough if you don't try to break it. While I didn't have time to do the true ending, I'm excited to do a second playthrough for it. My blind Hard mode run was down to the wire. A point of clarification because…

positive · AI labelView post →I love Ayesha and the Dusk setting, its characters and charming (yet confusing tbh) alchemy system! I plan on replaying the whole Dusk trilogy! Huge plus for having the goated Hidari in it! Koei, Dusk 4 when?? Wilbell/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished playing Atelier Ayesha earlier in the week, and it had me really wanting to draw these two. I feel like all the interactions between Ayesha and Nio in the postgame: Nio meeting all of the friends Ayesha has made, Ayesha fretting over Nio, and so on, are what really made the game for me.
positive · AI labelView post →❗Status 100% Complete 🎮Played On Computer Primarily ⏱️Game Length I played with Japanese VA, often reading the text and skipping to the next bit, which made the game speed up a ton. Reading at my pace for dialogue put me at 36 hours completion, and making a save right before the ending to reload and see another ending. 🔄Replay Value Low; If you can finish the game in one run, there's not much of a reason to replay this, and any time you want to listen to the music or look…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ayesha is a tough one to recommend, but I'm going to do it anyway because at the end of the day...it's still an enjoyable game. Let's start with the positives! As always the characters in these games are it's lifeblood. Some are more fun to be around than others, yes...but I wouldn't say anyone in this cast is bad. Even grumpy old Keith will grow on you after a bit. This is helped further by Himari's beautiful character design. One of the reasons I even got into this series was because I loved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk" is a 2012 game that was ported to PC in 2020. However, be aware that despite the page stating the port supports both keyboard and mouse and gamepad, playing without a controller can lead to constant freezes. Therefore, prepare a gamepad or download an emulator. Personally, I used the Vjoy emulator, and it worked well. Atelier Ayesha is a JRPG with a focus on turn-based combat, gathering, and crafting. To get straight to the point, I didn't find the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ayesha is probably my favorite game out of the dusk trilogy series. It is a very tough comparison, because all the dusk series games are so good. Pros + The highest difficulty out of the dusk trilogy alchemy games. + The alchemy items require intricate item planning and depth in player alchemy knowledge to create. + The strongest DLC boss is challenging and it will fight toe to toe with the party until most of your 120 items run out. + Beautiful world and scenery + Amazing soundtrack like -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such an amazing game and atelier game! Ayesha is a really good protagonist, the story is interesting and I really appreciate that the game doesn't follow a linear path, instead you need to solve the mystery by your own with some help of Keithgriff. The alchemy is really good! I didn't understand it at first, but you get some skills as you level up that make it really fun, the way properties and traits are separated compared to the mysterious trilogy also made my experience better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think Atelier Ayesha has exactly the most QTE in a turn-based RPG that feels acceptable to me. It would slow the game down way too much with a pause for all of them, it's very easy to know which options will appear and they're always the same button, and it influences positioning in a fun way.
positive · AI labelView post →Within the World of Dusk Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of the Dusk Earth is the first entry of Dusk Trilogy; it is also my first game of the series. It tells the story of a young herbalist turned alchemist, Ayesha Altugle, on her journey to save her long-lost sister within the world in a perpetual state of decline. Such is a world entering the age of Dusk. Atelier Ayesha introduces one of the more unique presentations of a dying world, with how the aesthetics often hide its darker premise.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid entry that marks a bit of a different approach than the Arland series. Only real complaint for me is the fact that you cannot craft, or even buy your weapons, as they are ALL monster drops. Story is good. Barrel.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game of the Dusk series. You play as Ayesha Altugle, an Apothecary that decides to go on an adventure to learn more about Alchemy after a strange man told her that it could potentially save her sister. It took me a bit to start enjoying this title. It felt very monotone early on and the writing didn't feel that great, but it felt like it slowly improved as time went on. Too many interactions didn't really make sense or were simply awkward. I also wasn't too big of a fan of the OSTs…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my first JRPG game, though I did play Skyrim and MMORPGs in the past. It's also one of the very few games I played without a guide, no tips, no online references apart from the in-game manual. I don't have any knowledge of the mechanics of the game when I started. I managed to complete the main storyline in 76 hours, or more like 70 if you discount the idling time. Part of this long playtime could be attributed to me listening to all the spoken dialogues. It actually took me a couple…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play Atelier Ayesha, you know having a great time, awesome game, and out of nowhere Kyle boasts about how he sexually harassed women or Ayesha asks Marion, a woman married to her job and figurative daughter bodyguard, if she wants to marry a man and have kids. Also uh, Glide... exists.

neutral · AI labelView post →Atelier A14 has, for me, the best soundtrack in the entire series. Even after all these years and so many new Atelier titles, nothing has quite captured the same atmosphere or emotional weight. When I played it, I could really feel the effort and passion the developers put into it. Every track and piece of art drew me in those alone kept me playing for hours. It’s an older game, so it has its rough edges. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive, and on PC there’s that annoying stuttering issue…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been torn about trying the mainline Atelier series. I've played some of the spin-off games before, but the mainline games have always had me wavering from a distance and not pulling the trigger on investing into one. On the one hand, I really like the idea of an alchemy RPG, I am always here for dense and overcomplicated crafting systems in games. On the other hand, I just feel so strongly that these games are made and marketed for a specific kind of person and I am definitely not that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have enjoyed several different Atelier games in this series and I enjoyed this one the most. You play as a young woman who is on a journey to save her younger sister who she assumed to be dead and you will be meeting many different characters that will help you to reach that goal. The crafting which is the selling point of the game is very fun and you will probably sending the most time trying to make the best equipment and items. There is a three year time limit in the game but its pretty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a little hard, but I just got sucked into the world. I like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An Atelier game with a drastically and unique world and atmosphere, one of small hopes in the midst of despair. A more serious story when compared to the previous Arland series, though still retaining the light heartedness that make this series so comforting. The time limit in this game is super generous, making me question whether there is a point to time management at this point. The characters are great, the events are fun and the story is gripping. This is a definite recommend.
