this is worse than the original port in most aspects. the sheer amount of visuals that they broke in this version is astounding, basically every frame of the game from start to finish has something either wrong or missing. yeah they added some stuff but a poorly-scaled starfish on a window hardly makes up for significantly lower quality water effects (if they aren't just outright missing lmao). the audio quality is …

I am Frostee and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a consumer not entitled to a complete game on release? No says the designers, we need more time to fix the bugs. No says the publishers you need to buy the season's pass. No says the shareholders, you have to wait for the next game. I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose to play something else entirely, i chose the impossible, i chose Bioshock... A game where the player need not fear the loot box. Where the player would not be bound by…

DO NOT BUY THE REMASTERED VERSION OF THIS GAME. It crashes constantly, has horrible issues across the entire game, and 2K refuses to even acknowledge that the 2007 version RUNS better and with no issues. I spent over 2 hours just TRYING to get this game to work, guess what? It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible that I couldn't even make it to rapture. I must have seen the stupid plane intro like 12 times. They added a binding arbitration clause in the EULA at https://www.take2games.com/legal/en-US/ so in effect they stole my game from me since they changed the terms of the sale after everything was said and done. More and more game companies are doing this and I would highly recommend installing what games you can before binding arbitration EULA's are everywhere.

ENG/ITA Bioshock is a unique fps set in Rapture, where you can use a vast variety of weapons and special "abilities" called plasmids. The gameplay is quite fun, especially when you beat your enemies up with a wrench, 10/10 only for this, jk ofc :) It's quite dystopian, with an atmosphere that can create a sense on tension especially when a Big Daddy smacks the ♥♥♥♥ out of you or charges at you. Overall, the graphics are quite nice. I really enjoyed the story, especially the plot twist and the…

I bought this amazing game, developed by an American company calling itself Irrational Games. I haven't played any of their other games (and apparently there aren't that many), so I won't be able to judge it. But what they've created is amazing! The idea of a 1950s-style underwater city is truly amazing! Everything is pleasing: the details, the atmosphere of the gray, dark city of Rapture, the gorgeous monsters, some kind of mutants ready to jump at you from any direction. Speaking of which,…

Bioshock is an amazing game, but play the original with mods that make the game look better or quality of life, this remaster crashes too frequently and you can lose hours of progress if you are not saving often, even then, the game decides to wipe your save as well, so make different saves. cant even do the challenges without crashing even faster, buy and play the original, not this garbage "remaster"

This game is one of the greatest games of all time. However, this version of the game is ridiculously buggy and crashes so much you can't play it. That's why the basic achievements a player would complete just by finishing the game have such low accomplishment. Nobody can make it to the end because they eventually can't even do anything in the game without it crashing.

Honestly? Didn't age super well. I have fond memories of it, but it's a game I enjoy thinking about more than playing. The first half of it is... okay. The second half just throws wave after wave of the same, like, four incredibly tanky enemies to waste your ammo while you go on random fetch quests to extend the playtime. I genuinely love this game's story and setting, but every time I play it I like it less.

Game is good but some of the problems were not addressed with the remaster. Good - the setting is unique, an underwater city full of creatures who are in-between a normal human and a monster. The gunplay still holds up. The story is interesting. The bad - unfortunately you can't shoot and use Plasmids (something like spells) at the same time. In effect this means you almost always stick with either Plasmids or guns, never both. The game can sometimes crash. Alt+tab sometimes causes the game…

I decided to skip the game since I already played the original, but it doesn't take from the fact that the game slaps. Too many bugs in this remaster. Audio repeating for no reason, lights glitching in and out, NPCs getting stuck on nothing, I had an entire miniboss fight with the enemy just standing there glitched. Some of the Big Daddies and Little Sisters just standing there staring off into space for an eternity. And one time I had to reset the game because an object was lodged into a crawl space making it impossible to move through until after reset.

When it first came out back in 2007, Bioshock was widely hailed as a masterpiece. Why? Because it's the embodiment of games as an art form and an incredibly deep and enjoyable game in its own right. Set in the 1960s, you play as Jack, the lone survivor of a plane crash in the middle of the Atlantic. He finds himself marooned at a mysterious lighthouse and a curious vessel takes him down to Rapture, an underwater city that has descended into chaos. Why is Rapture breaking apart at the seams and…

the ocean outside is silent but the city inside never stops speaking in collapsing philosophies and broken men. "A man chooses, a slave put's a negative review" kind of thing! haunting, elegant and self-aware, a amazing game that watches you as much as you watch it.

One of the best atmospheric games I’ve ever played. The world feels unique from the very first minutes. Rapture is beautiful, creepy, and unforgettable at the same time. The story kept me interested all the way through, and the audio logs made the city feel alive. Combat is fun because of the mix of weapons and plasmids, and every fight can be approached differently. The remastered version still looks great, especially with the lighting and art style. Sound design and music are amazing and…

A man chooses, a slave obeys. Bioshock Genre: Immersive Sim FPS Tags: Rapture - Player Freedom - Atmosphere Bioshock is a masterpiece in game design. Plain and simple. The Irrational Games project led by the now legendary Ken Levine is precise in its length, certain in its aesthetic, and confident in its depth (no pun intended). It delivers early halo level enemy AI, a profound message about agency in the face of evil, and peanut butter thick atmosphere that is on the level of a Fallout or…

Solid gameplay, the story is not bad with a nice twist near the end, the idea of an underwater city is a cool and a scary concept. Plasmids are fun however I just kinda used 2-3 of them the whole game, it's mainly the weapons that will do most of the damadge, especially the The Crossbow which is incredibly overpowered and satisfying to land headshots with leading to most of the time 1 hit kills. I really liked the Big Daddys, since I thought they would just attack you on sight, but it's…

One of the Most Interesting Lore I've Ever Seen Bioshock is probably the first game where I craved to learn more about its world like nowhere else. Rapture is a magnificent underwater city with the most fascinating history and ideology. The foundation of Rapture's ideology is Ayn Rand's objectivism – a philosophy of rational individualism. The game reinterprets this ideology and shows how it would function in the real world, exposing its problems. Bioshock reveals the history and lore…

This game had been in my backlog for almost 15 years, since I played 2. I finally got around to it, and I feel like an idiot for letting so much time pass, it is that good. The story and the tighter structure compared to the sequel work really well even today. The only things I might dislike about it are how you have to switch between plasmids and guns, and that the guns can sound a little quiet, but I think that’s just a sign of its age. And of course, the fact that a huge chunk of the game…

✅ Pros: Masterpiece narrative and unforgettable Art Deco underwater setting (Rapture), brilliant combination of Plasmids & gunplay, upgraded high-resolution textures and lighting, included Museum of Orphaned Concepts and director's commentary. ❌ Cons: Lack of significant gameplay improvements or FOV slider options, audio bugs and occasional save file corruption. 🏆 Rating: 8.8 / 10

Bioshock is a profound horror game classic that belongs in any genuine horror connoisseur's library. It's a Steampunk styled FPS that takes place in the Oceanic city of Rapture beneath the waves. You are a plane crash victim that stumbles into the city and must learn to survive in the decrepit, crumbling and drowning ruins of a once magnificent pantheon of human ingenuity. Rapture was meant to be a Libertarian heaven, an entire society built and raised underwater and completely devoid of…

I just played (and finished) this game for the first time. Loved its mood, gameplay, story. Even though it's an old game, the remaster is beautiful and it makes it still enjoyable in 2026. BUT. It did crash quite a lot of times and I have lsot many hours of playtime. Almost gave up at some point. You should keep that in mind if you are easily pissed at such events. If you are patient, then feel free to buy the game and have fun.

I prefer the original, but for some reason it does not play on Steam Deck well. So, this one will have to do. Replaying it is fun.
