What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 194 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (670 of 836 positive).
Players enjoy the unique vampire theme and dark humor, comparing it to classics like Theme Hospital. [1][2][3] Many note bugs and UI issues, but find them manageable with reloads. [4][5][6] Some reviewers find the game short and lacking content for the price. [7][8][9]

TLDR: I would not recommend this game until they fix all the bugs and make it playable. It was the first game I played out of my Steam Summer Sale haul and it doesn't feel like it was worth the amount paid. As a longtime fan of management games and supernatural things I thought I found the perfect game. However while it had a lot of potential it also had a lot of problems. - UI is a little clunky. To assign rooms …

In Blood Bar Tycoon, the Great Master Vladimir de Laligne recruits you to establish a chain of vampire bars across Crimson City -- and also to serve unsuspecting humans up on tap. While this quirky indie game has its share of unaddressed bugs, it's still a solid tribute to classics like Theme Hospital and I laughed out loud the first time a waitress tossed an exsanguinated body down the sewer drain. Gameplay + …

I absolutely recommend buying this game. It's good and one of the better "tycoon" genre games I've played. The interaction with the NPCs actually affecting game play is a neat concept. But keep the following things in mind. 1. I'm a big fan of the vampire theme. 2. I bought this on sale. 3. It is very short. I was at less than 20 hours when I completed it. There are only 5 scenarios and then free play. 4. It does …

This is one of those games that can be a lot of fun but tends to be overshadowed by its frustrating elements. As a disclaimer: I have not played the Elder mode. This review is solely based on the normal mode, which took me more than 20 hours to complete with all stars. In its essence, this is a management sim with a very macabre twist. You are the owner of a vampire bar where your human clientele also becomes your …

Short Review: – Silly management sim with vampires – Dark humor – Two difficulty options, plus semi-sandbox – Fairly simple with moments of chaos – Decorating is cute but limited – Got repetitive quickly – Overall fun if you like this kind of game! Full Review: It’s a silly management sim, but this time with vampires! That’s really the gist of it. I don’t play a lot of management sims anymore, but I did as a kid. …

60 of 246 · most liked firstNot uncommon for this genre it tries to hide the shallowness and lack of stuff to actually do in the game behind having to start over each level. A Tycoon manages multiple places simultaneously but each level has zero affect on the next you start from scratch again just like the old theme hospital games. on this the only challenge part is getting your place setup in time before things go wrong once it is setup, there is nothing left to do the place will run itself mostly fine and you will only…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ripped through the first part of the game and then suddenly, really struggled, assumed it was a skill issue and attempted this one level SEVEN different times getting more and more frustrated as no matter how i approached the level my vampires would kill in the open grinding the game to a halt. Googled it to see if there was something I was missing. Turns out in 2024 play testing there was a bug where certain vampires didn't get served drinks. Tried the level again and low and behold. An hour…

neutral · AI labelView post →Really tried to get into it. couldnt seem to stay afloat financially in the game at all. seemed impossible. also dont understand why the vampires and humans mixed in the main room, the vampires kept eating the humans and it would freak out the whole room and then the hunters would come and i ended up having to shut the bar down to get it under control then i would lose a ton of money. i played for a little over 3 hours so unfortunately cannot get a refund. super annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a decent concept that quickly sabatages itself by its own premise. The biggest threat is getting detected by hunters or running out of cash. Both happen when people panic and cause a scene. You can easily solve the issue by setting logistical zones for where people are allowed to operate. Only workers operate in worker zones, only vampires go to vampire zones. Problem is vampires are 100% allowed to go into human zones and cause endless problems because a waiter took longer than 5 seconds…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of a "Neutral" review, but Steam doesn't have the option for those. Stylistically, it's interesting. And it plays like the old Bullfrog games (Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper), or Evil Genius. Though weirdly, it really feels like I'm playing some sort of Sims mod. One down-side I'd say is that the difficulty isn't controlled by a slider, but by dialogue options. And if you say... dislike a character. Like a certain evil sleezeball... well, you're now playing on the harder difficulty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Times like this I wish there was an ambivalent option. It's an okay game but it has so many minor things that just annoy the hell out of you over time. Forced Tutorials: This could be the game's subheading because there's so many tutorials and hints that are useless that you can't turn off. Every new section of the map is basically surprise! more tutorials. The hand-holding in this game is annoying as hell. Can't directly control minions: Sometimes minions do whatever they want and then your…

The game features a quirky art style and dark humor, offering a unique twist on the tycoon genre. You assume the role of a vampire entrepreneur aiming to transform modest establishments into thriving blood bars. The gameplay involves managing resources, customizing bar layouts, and handling various challenges like human…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool concept, poor execution. Full to the brim of bugs - I've had several huge issues where my staff with "Conceal" don't actually conceal, causing mass panic. Multiple, repeated issues of staff getting stuck standing still doing nothing. Bar counter ends don't actually match up when you rotate them specific ways. The lag gets pretty bad, but that's to be expected with a game like this. The game also keeps giving me side missions that are impossible to complete, but I'm unaware until I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blood Bar Tycoon hits the ground running with an incredibly cool concept and a visual design that drips with style, but it unfortunately lacks the mechanical depth to sustain that momentum. While the initial hours of managing a vampire den feel fresh, the gameplay loop quickly becomes repetitive as you realize "progression" is mostly just unlocking new skins and machines rather than meaningful new features. Between the lack of complex mechanics and a handful of frustrating bugs, the experience…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I generally enjoy the game, but one bug keeps recurring and it's making playing a map long time nearly impossible. Basically when you have a large number of guests in a bar, the staff refuses to serve some vampires, and the vampires attack ordinary people. The Devs know this bug and haven't done anything, and I doubt they ever will.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is good! It's a tycoon game which keeps the player busy and offers a lot of expressive possibilities. It incorporates a lot of aspects of the vampire power fantasy. By the standards of its genre, it does several things unusually well: - The visual novel segments star individuated mascots that have a lot of charm. - The zone-switching mechanics mean that you play the earlygame a lot, and you rarely have to scale the micromanagement mechanics past a single bar. - The…

positive · AI labelView post →I want to recommend this game, I managed to 100% this game before the last major update, but trying to get the rest of the achievements on the new hardest difficulty has been so frustrating. The bugs are all over, and the AI need so much work it makes it very hard to maintain a high level bar because the employees just...don't do what they need to do. It's kind of like playing the old Sims and the Sims won't do the most basic stuff like go to the bathroom or make themselves food without you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In its just state, I just can't recommend it. TLDR 1. Littered with game breaking bugs 2. Very light on content 3. Money/research point making is completely broken 4. efficiency too high, costs too low 5. Prestige cap is a joke 1. The bugs are just dreadful, trying to accompllish missions and it just decides to stop counting. The staff just stop being autonomous at any moment, they can't decide what to do half the time thus neglecting everything. ESPECIALLY the blink skill. They blink…

positive · AI labelView post →Game get permanently gets stuck in pause if you switch menus fast, to the point where you have to start the level all over again with all progress lost. This has happens no matter which level and becomes frustrating to start over. On the other hand, the game feels too easy and more of a waiting game for your NPC goons to finish their tasks. Even when you tell them what to do with the same mechanics as the Sims, it feels buggy, and sometimes their tasks don't even get picked up by your clicks.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Achievement hunter here. It was a challange. I really enjoyed it. Well-balanced gaming experience. There are some (for me) gamebreaking bugs. I just went back to the map and reloaded the district. Worked every time, except when there was puke in the water in the last district Elder level. I had to start over from scratch because the minions were all standing around with questionmarks because they couldnt get to the puke. No replay value. Worth it at full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lets just say that the devs in their infinite wisdom decided to spend time silently nerfing one of the vampires clevage instead of fixing the 100 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs that make this game near unplayable. despite claiming to fix bugs a lookthrough both reviews and discussion boards show no, no they havent.

Interesting enough story. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. A lot of fun. I appreciate the accessible difficulty options. I used them lol

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute idea, but way to simple executed. There are games like Two Point out there, showing, that tiny simple tasks and rewards can hold your fun for a long time. Even easy management system can be fun. This isn't one of those, at least for ME. I can see, that you can have fun with this game. But I played to many simliar games. From random gamebreaking bugs to little glitches - it is still a bit messy. I had to play sandbox, because I got stuck with a gamebreaking bug at level 3. I know the…

Building and expanding blood bar, managing resources, and keeping customers happy is both challenging and rewarding. The art style fits the atmosphere perfectly, and there’s always something to improve or optimize. If you enjoy tycoon and management games with a fresh twist, this one is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden gem in plain sight, like a true vampire. When I first hear about this game, I was like "Oh, it's the same concept as MachiaVillain". In MachiaVillain, you trick human into your abandoned house, and collect them for resource like bone, meat, and brain. The game is fun, but a lot of bugs happen like it is unpolished. But Blood Bar Tycoon look a lot of better. It look polished and nice, this time you open the bar for human to collect their blood for your vampire customer who also sit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid game but it doesn't feel very deep. I played for around 5 hours before I started getting bored with the mechanics. If it's ever on sale or if they add more depth it's worth picking up. The only reason I do not recommend is the price seems way too high for the depth.

neutral · AI labelView post →Conceptually interesting, let down by mediocre gameplay - it's work, not fun, with little reward worth investing your time in for anything but a short term fix. Also being left handed, having no keybind options gets an instant downvote on that alone. I particularly disliked the build function, placing and creating walls and rooms was frustrating and annoying. Graphically, it's mediocre at best. The UI is rudimentary, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but here it looks like placeholder art…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Evil Genius with Vampires, but the AI works a lot better in my opinion. Manage humans and vampire tastes, styles of bar, entertainment, research and production of specialities with sanguine flair. Keep your profile down while attracting niche markets of customers, as hunters coming and staking your staff can cause a major panic and quickly spiral out of control. Some good sandbox tycoon management, so far I'm about halfway through the main campaign and having a lot of fun, though I'm…

If you’ve ever dreamed of running a bar where the drinks are literally to die for, then Blood Bar Tycoon is the game to sink your teeth into! This game takes the classic management sim and gives it a bloody good twist—turning the mundane into the monstrously fun. From the moment I started, I was hooked faster than a vampire on a neck. Managing my own vampire bar, juggling minions, humans, and thirsty customers, felt like a fresh breath of (night) air. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blood Bar Tycoon is a cheerful little World of Darkness-inspired management game where you run a series of blood bars to feed the local Vampires. Every vampire minion gets ONE power, and if it's not Blink, Hypnosis, or Mindwipe they are trash. Reaper's wait until AFTER it's too late to strike instead of attacking the moment they go into non-human rooms, and Conceal NEVER works properly. Hypnosis is mandatory to even play the game, without it you have to rely on passive traps which the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a fan. Not interactive enough. A lot of set it up and watch it go. The vampire feeding is clunky and, at least at the beginning, you want to avoid entirely. Just didn't engage me.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a few bugs and I'm not a fan of the UI. But neither are deal breaking issues. The game is fun and has captivated me for hours. Would definitely recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →March 22, 2025 - It took me 16.5 hours to get all 5 levels done at 3 stars. That was also 65/71 achievements. I didn't read the list ahead of time or I might have gotten even more achievements in that time. A few times I did have to reload a level to get things unstuck. There were a minion or two that sort of forgot they had jobs and just stood around, a body I couldn't interact with, and an issue where setting a room to a different type said there was no door even though one was present.…
