Man, this one hurts cause there is genuinely a lot to like about the game. The animation is amazing, the writing is charming, and I enjoy the characters a lot. But honestly the gameplay just is not there. It's very slow, which isn't inherently bad, but the game feels like it wants to be fast. A lot of enemies and bosses have really quick tells that are just really difficult to react to. There also is the issue of …

Really, just 240 reviews? Considering the animation quality, it's a crime this game went under so many radars. I mean, sure, the core gameplay doesn't have much flexibiliy to offer, and a few quests are far from obvious. But I've enjoyed the story, the style and the attitude, and encountered very few bugs in the process. So it's two thumbs up from me!

Edit: Well ♥♥♥♥, they actually came back to fix a lot of complaints I and others had, so I'll bite the bullet and say I was wrong about them dropping the game. Though no matter what, unless they change the entire game, a lot of my complaints stem from how the dull the combat is, how annoying the quests are, and how empty the ending of the game felt. So, while I still probably wouldn't recommend it at full price, maybe, if you see it on sale for less than $20 if I'm being nice, $15 if I'm being…

I really wanted to like this game, the Billy and Mandy era Cartoon Network design, the writing that's very Saturday morning cartoon, but my god does the combat just feel so STIFF. Like, the first power up you get is a massive finisher any time you attack an enemy that's going to be downed and it just leaves you open to get damaged. And it's just kinda all like that it just feels sort of unpolished and stiff and really not all that fun unfortunately. I don't really want to continue from where I…

Getting the obvious out of the way, the game is gorgeous, the 90s and early 2000s cartoon vibes and themes are on point, and the animation is so smooth i want to die. The game knows this, so one of the few developments to your gameplay, of which there aren't many, is just adding different animations to your actions (battling, that is). Gameplay wise, the game is focused on puzzle solving, exploring, and some action battling using a couple of acquired tools, treating some of the fights as…

While I do recommend this game, I only recommend it to fans of early 2000's cartoons. Reasoning being that the game play is fun, but way too simplistic. There's a difference between simple but good versus simple and but unchanging. The runes you get for your weapon don't change your damage output, just your finishers. The tools, pencils, and bombs are the only things that you receive that change how you play, but only by a little. Good game, but nothing great or groundbreaking.

As many have mentioned before me, the art style is superb, especially for us, Cartoon Network generation. At first, I loved the gameplay too, but maaan does it get repetitive after a couple of hours... Not to mention the bugs. e.g. I cannot complete 2 of the sidequests, even though I have the quest item. Then there are the hellishly tedious main quests where you are looking for 8 pieces of quest items and you have to backtrack and re-scan the whole area multiple times... the buggy main quests…

After playing the game on and off. Revisiting it to see if eventually I'll enjoy it. I honestly got to the point were my cynical eyes couldn't take it. Take away the animations, we end up with a game that has a lot of surface level appeal. The characters looks great, the trailer looked pretty fluid and for cartoon fans, it seems like another dunk for american animation but it totally deceives the viewer. Fundamentally, the game itself doesn't get a lot of complaints. Maybe some hit detection issues. The roll not giving you I frames means you gotta kite enemies around so you don't get surrounded by a bunch of them, which doesn't happen often, but it still happens nonetheless. Plays like eastward and other classic zelda inspired games. This is a very pretty game, and the animations and characters are what got me through the entire game. That said, the game has a lot of issues. Many instances of having to exit the game and restart because I soft locked or due to some other bug. I´ve fallen in love with this game as I saw a video, highlighting it´s animation. And yes, the game is a joy to look at. You can tell that a lot of love and effort went into the design of the characters and the city as a whole. But sadly, the gameplay is just not there to match it. So few reviews for this beautiful little gem is a bloody shame! I do think the combat could have a little more depth, but I think it's fine overall. It doesn't do anything special or innovative gameplay wise, but it's good enough to not hinder my enjoyment of the game in any way. What does set #Blud apart from other games, is it's absolutely gorgeous and fluid animations, reminiscient of classic cartoons with an extra helping of violence for good measure! I was blown away by how many unique…

Pros: *Unique animation. *Funny story. *Satisfying action gameplay. Cons: *To much repetitive battles. *Noticed that sometimes enemy hit boxes are lager than animation. *Few times got lost how to progress story (that just me). *In two free DLC locations enemies didn't die but reset by exiting location fixed that.

I'm not gonna lie, the game is not perfect. Combat is repetitive, it has some annoying bugs, I don't like that there are some collectibles that you can only get in specific chapters... But the animation of the game sells it. It is heavily inspired by 90s and 00s cartoons, filled with creative attacks, special animations for selfies with every NPC and every villain. This game has a lot of hard work and soul poured into it. I recommend it if you enjoy animation.

I overall recommend this game on the condition that you really need to be into the art style and animation. Otherwise, as a video game, it falls short. Especially in the second half of the game where you encounter a good deal of really frustrating game design decisions and dungeons. That being said, I would have watched this cartoon for sure as it has fun characters, charming writing, and gorgeous animation. However, as it stands, the game has very little in the way of quest design or…

Thumbs down from me because of the STUPID Auto-save and not giving the player the option to save for ourselves. WHY you ask? Because PC crashed and the Savefile got Reset and Steam Auto-save Cloud Synco with that save file. SO, even the backup is GONE. Fun game but got some of the worst enemy designs such as Wait for them to do something to kill them kind of annoyance. And I would loved it if we get teleport immediately after unlocking all the shortcuts rather than go to the sewers in this…

An incredible artstyle and interesting concept overall brought down by irritating combat, tedious backtracking and tiresome quest designing. As was said in another review, to paraphrase: "A game with a great artstyle and animation but with bad gameplay is a bad game. There is no excuse". I will try to go through and list the pros and cons part by part to give you the best idea I can. PROS: - Artstyle and animation clearly has time and effort and love put into it (however I imagine due…

DEVELOPERS, PLEASE FIX THE HIT BOXES! This could be an awesome game - funny, well animated, well written, with neat dungeons. But it has the worst contact detection of any game I ever played. Even trying to pick up an object requires me to go over it a couple of times. Fighting enemies is a big pain, and not in a good way. Falling in pits when the player seems to clearly go around them is so irritating, especially when the animation to get back is so long. If you are unable to make a game with…

I'll write a more detailed review later, or might change up my opinion, but so far the pros that I'm getting from the game is that the story, world-building/dialogue, and the animation is really good, and I absolutely love the 2000s cartoon feel they were going for, absolutely love it. But in my opinion, I feel like the gameplay, and the fight music is pretty lacking... Disregarding the music though, the gameplay is just uninspired in my opinion, which sadly outweighs how good the game looks.…
