Cate Blanchet's character in Borderlands is a recent and particularly obvious example. In the movie's trailer she is shown holding and aiming a rifle like someone who clearly never held a gun before and my understanding is that her character was supposed to be a highly competent gunslinger. Someone coach those actors for crying out loud.
