TL:DR - It's a game made by middle schoolers, padded to the extreme, and unfortunately throws aside an interesting premise to tell fart, urine, poop, and sex jokes so frequently that the voicelines often will overlap and cut each other off. It's an okay game, but is grating to play and I am VERY much the target audience for crude humor. Not even worth it on sale. Conceptually, it's interesting. While there are …

I tried guys. Look at the playtime, I genuinely tried. I love games like this, especially when they have storylines. Survival crafters are my jam (I have over 200 hours in subnautica) And yet... I wasted 17 hours just in hopes that eventually the game would hook me and start being fun. I read a lot of reviews when it first came out and quite a few people said they hated it. Because of that it sat in my wishlist for several years until the other day when I finally bought it. I ended up absolutely loving it! Once I started playing, I couldn't put it down and pretty much binged it from start to finish. I'm surprised by how much negativity it gets because it's a great game. This is not subnautica in space. It isn't even really a survival game in space. It masquerades as that in the first couple of chapters, but quickly gives up on the concept and becomes a linear task driven game with largely irrelevant survival and crafting elements required to progress. So long as you understand that, you might enjoy it. My advice is don't get too invested in building and crafting. It's a bit of a …

TL;DR: Buy it on sale, get mods, don't try to finish it The early game is subnautica in space, with a story less mysterious and much more tedious gameplay. I installed a mod that gave tools infinite durability, because you have like 8 different ones that you'll never no when you need them, I got bored of having to go back the crafting table to unlock another arbitrary lock. Middle game is more exploration oriented, I hope you like the second degree humor, because it's always on at 120%, with…

So I actually liked the concept of the game and even the humor. I liked the expanse feeling of space, and construction process. It was a little slow to start, but eventually the ugprades made it fun to play. Until after 15 hours of playing I lost a huge amount of loot from my base. I had two suitcases full of hard to get items that just dissappeared. I tried multiple attempts at recovery, but my saves also did not have my loot and I just didn't have it in me to refarm the materials. It…

If you're reading this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE BAD REVIEWS, THEY'RE RIGHT. Watch the videos and it looks great fun, but that ain't the game - 2 hours of bs grind to get some paint that's simply too far away, and then there's the glass which is supposedly even further, but I can't be bothered. Another unbalanced grind chore - why do people think grinding craft rubbish is interesting? And as for the tools... "Yay, built something... what do you mean I need to keep…

I received this game for free, but a review is meant to inform about the game, not about the circumstances in which I got it, so I've tried to not let it influence my opinion on it. I'm reviewing this game with the premise of "Would I encourage you to pay 24.99€ for it?", and the answer is no. Props to the devs for the promotional giveaway. Very honorable method of promoting the sequel. The following is probably a bit disorderded, but I'm using this review to vent some of my frustrations, so…

Game had far too much in your face crude humor for me, particularly the constant alerts with it. Gameplay seemed promising, and it was funny when it attempted other kinds of humor, but it hardly ever used other forms of jokes. Sadly just turned me off the game too much to really get a good experience.

I read the reviews prior to purchase and thought maybe people were being picky, but no. I regret purchasing this. This is a game made by artists, not game designers. The art and music are fantastic! The actual gameplay is terrible. I'm constantly frustrated by lacking mats and having to google trying to figure out where to get certain mats and finding out I've completely missed certain mandatory items/areas that are completely unmarked? Re-visiting the same area over and over because…

I've never gotten this lost so soon into my session. I spent 30 minutes in the tutorial because they decided to focus more on jokes than actually explaining anything. What an awful experience. Played this before years ago and dropped it after you reach first goal around 1,5 kms away from the starting point, when its revealed you have to suffer through more of this. Now i wanted to see if it was worth tearing through to the end. It wasnt. The developer of this game thought that by making jokes about mistakes the genre makes it gets you a free pass to repeat same mistakes. And the same jokes. For over and over and over again for a dozen of hours. There are…

I've tried three separate times to get into this game, to no avail. Between the juvenile sense of humor and a lack of quality of life features such as storage options being easily accessible early-game (apart from the initial cubby on your ship), this has been an absolute slog just trying to get comfortable survivability established every single time. This hinders exploration, which is unfortunately the main thing this game is otherwise poised to do pretty well. The mechanics of resource drain…

I like exploration and crafting but hate tamagotchi elements, so most survival games aren't for me. this drew me in with its scifi/space setting, presentation and humor, and I appreciated the separate game mode that doesn't only disable hunger and thirst but the oxygen requirement as well. unfortunately, it was still not enough for an enjoyable experience, though I did see it through to the end on epic, hence the low runtime. and while saves are compatible progress-wise, there must be some…

I have had fun in this game, but the more I progress, the less fun it is. What has driven me to drink is the AWFUL durability on most of the tools. I have no issue with the oxygen and food/water, but the durability on tools is ridiculous. They do eventually give you a non-degrading scrapper, which is good, but they need to do that for ALL tools. I gather this game eventually has a base building element. I got fed up before I got to it. What I saw of the game was exploration and some very minor crafting. Unfortunately, it has some oxygen mechanics which severely penalize exploration. The main issue is the oxygen replenishment stations. They require fairly rare resources to build, and it's easy to run out. At one point I thought I had soft-locked myself because I'd run out of the resources I needed to build them, and I needed more…

Say what you will about the execution of humor and in-game quality of life and balance mechanics, but when a developer provides a window where their first game is free shortly before their second game hits Early Access it let's you know that some of their ideas are definitely on point. Painfully slow progression ruined this one for me. What little direction I got has not been very helpful. I spend most of my time desperately floating back to my ship to refill oxygen. Managing my oxygen supply is not fun. The crafting UI is not great. It's irritating to navigate. Menuing in general is irritating. I like the art direction. The game is relentless with its annoying humor. One of those "funny" games that has to inject humor into every sentence, every tooltip, every instruction. It gets old real fast and doesn't stop. Breathedge overwhelms you at the start with interactable objects and a horrendous tutorial that barely explains what you are trying to do or how you can do it. Similar to Subnautica in concept only. It's confusing and grating from the start. Do not play this game.

I got by with it and still found enjoyment. Noticed a lot of backtracking between base areas in Chapter 2... Okay, I still got by it and dealt with it. One of the first things you craft is literally a useless item that they joke was done to waste your time. Sort of like Subnautica in its aim, but really misses the mark. There are three huge problems with this one: resource locations, oxygen, and distance. Resources are all scavenged. There is no infinite source for anything, meaning you'll have to locate…

So long as you understand that, you might enjoy it. My advice is don't get too invested in building and crafting. It's a bit of a shame really because that aspect is somewhat interesting and has promise, but…

Subnautica but in space with Borderlands humour, but like more on the troll side. Playing to the end and its overstaying its welcome. Speed running. Huge time sink with not a satisfying payoff. Glad I got this cheap.

Breathedge is like eating an onion. It has many layers and despite of one might want to believe that next inner layer is juicier and sweeter they are prooved wrong time after another. After 17 hours of morbid belief that things do get better I need to write this review and put this game in the unfinished section maybe for the end of days. Breathedge does some things right and leans bravely to in its own ideas and atmosphere, but cruel reality is that they may not be the virtues that most of…

This game will highly depend on your sense of humor and if you can vibe with the games delivery that literally everything in this game is wrapped in. Even if the jokes arent for you its still a good space experience to progress through - the narrator will just be extra annoying..

Game reminds me of all those old point and click games where nothing makes sense and there's zero real world logic to the puzzles. There's nothing wrong with that type of game, but I just don't think it works well as a survival game with an oxygen timer.

Starts out as the normal survival experience. Having to scavenge resources in space, build tools, explore spaceships and build your base was an excellent premise. Feels like lightweight version of Subnautica at times, but then starts to feel more and more like a slog. Then it adds a bunch of bloat and points in your face and laughs "look at all the time we made you waste, we're soooo funny, lol" Just felt insulting at that point. However the endgame is even worse, as it involves excessive…

Rating: 2.5 --- Mediocre ------------------------------- Multiple elements of the gameplay design are there solely to waste time, over and over again. Watching bars constantly refill, crafting the same items over and over again because of low durability, and a bad inventory system means so much time consists of repetitive boring actions. Humor can be subjective and it wasn't for me. I wanted to like it, but was wore down by tedious design. I would stay away.

The humor gets in the way of gameplay at times. Being tongue-in-cheek is one thing, but some instructions are given in ways that are too non-literal. I'm not having fun. I'd rather this game took itself seriously.

Breathedge is a whimsical pseudo-survival game set in space after some kind of cataclysmic event involving chickens, coffins and AI-enhanced space suits. You play a doofus. Your goal is to build stuff and follow loose-plotted check points. The strongest asset Breathedge has is the design of its environment. The quality matches the level of Fallout. Great care was given to all aestheticism in the game models. Unfortunately, it did not translate to story-telling, nor the survival aspect of the…

Another game on Steam that's free for a limited time! 🎮 Breathedge: Survive in Outer Space 🧑‍🚀 I personally don't know this one, but sometimes these giveaways have helped me to find something interesting that I would otherwise have probably missed. 🛍️ store.steampowered.com/app/738520/B...

The game is kind of fun but very tedius to play. You have to yoyo back to your base constantly. You have space for nothing. You have storage for nothing. You have no air capacity. You always need something you don't have. But.. if you endure chapter 1 the game opens up a lot more. In Chapter 2 you get a "motorcycle" and can zoom around and explore more. I actually really enjoyed chapter 2. Then comes Chapter 3+ which turns the game into a linear (and still tedius) RPG. Aside from some fun…

I played this game when it was still in early access and also when they "finished" it. There was great promise in a really cool Subnautica type game in space. However, it has none of the charm that Subnautica has and even more grind. You will find yourself frustrated with the amount of time it takes to do anything due to small oxygen supply, limited inventory space, cost to craft, and sheer distance between anything remotely interesting. The points of interest that you find (if you do not get…

Just play Subnautica. Basically the same gameplay loop as this game, except Subnautica is less tedious.
