What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 157 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (1,346 of 1,766 positive).
Players find it a fun, casual puzzle game that scratches an engineering itch. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game feels dated and has inconsistent physics. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the lack of realistic physics and frustrating trial-and-error. [7][8][9]

This game might be fun to tinker with but it ignores simple engineering physics. I'm a civil engineer and this game refuses to acknowledge load physics. It will not equally distribute load across members in certain ways and will instead load one member at a time until each fails.

If my first year engineering statics course was like this I might've gone into civil engineering all those years ago. Of course, if civil engineering courses were like this lots of people would be dead. It's good casual fun, build, crash, strengthen a part, crash, realize you're out of budget, try random designs until it works. Yup, that's the design process for you.

The game was so good it spawned 5 sequels based on the same general concept. Each putting a different spin on it and in turn making the original look barebones and dated. My main complaint is that there are too many levels that require insane amount of trial and error and only have very limited amount of possible solutions. Some levels have solutions that are completely absurd and make no sense whatsoever (looking …

Build bridges, you can play with your kids, your parents even with your grandparents. It is ok.

Decent light-hearted sim that provides all that you can expect. It is not a masterpiece but can easily scratch engineering itch and can be challenging if you try 100% it. Recommended for people who like casual puzzles. Pros: - Good optimisation; - A lot of levels; - Cartoony art style; - Intuitive controls; - Good difficulty curve; - Cons: - Inconsistent physics; - Mediocre soundtrack;
Summarised from 34 of the 196 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 12, 2026. How summaries are made
Players who liked Bridge Constructor talk about fun physics puzzles that are addictive and casual; those who didn't talk about physics are inconsistent and unrealistic. Which matters more to you?

It has been a month since the last one, and I have gathered once again lots of content to read. Doing these once a month is much more work than I thought (and the interest in these is a bit low for now), so I think I will be switching to irregular intervals between issues. Maybe even do small ones…

neutral · AI labelView post →It is a flash game from 2013. It plays like a flash game from 2013.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game consists of building bridges with a set of available materials while keeping to a tight budget. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game fares well to what you expect from the short description I've given. Sadly, there is no explanation to how the physics of the game work besides "triangles are cool" or whatever. This leaves me oftentimes going online looking at real-life bridges and methodologies to build them, just to realize that most of this is not properly implemented into the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A glorified mobile game on PC, with questionable realism for building bridges. I was really liking it at first and then the missions got more crazy hard very quickly. Asking you do seemingly impossible and restricted setups. I kept seeing crazy builds on this game and even the most basic normal bridge doesn't always work lol. Even the guide makes no sense, asking to build in a way that doesn't work? Weird. But for 50p it was amusing until the end
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a logic to the madness like in Bridge Constructor Portal than I could recommend this. I played Bridge Constructor Portal and all DLC maps, I have 100 + hrs and videos on YT. Really had fun with BCP. Bridge Constructor aka this game is crap. Everything feels bad. The menu looks awful, constructing feels slow, the cars are slow, there are no real PC options, the game play is extra boring. I could go on but I will stop here. If you want to have fun with something similar to this game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overview: 'Bridge Constructor' is one of many construction games where the player must build a bridge sturdy enough to carry a variety of vehicles from one side to the other while keeping within budget and without the bridge breaking. You play as a bridge engineer as you build your way through 5 islands all of which are in desperate need of bridges because for some reason roads are paved but blueprints for bridges are left unaddressed. You go from building simple and straightforward bridges to…

neutral · AI labelView post →Poly Bridge, with zero QoL, and clunky and boring as can be. There's no speed up function, which makes it instantly unplayable trash. Too bad, I wanted this to be good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The levels are repetitive, they don't have variety in goals or solutions. The physics feel off, and you are not allowed overbudget, not even for a reduced reward or even just to mess around and it's a mindlessly simple game until you unlock the Tanker Challenge mode which, when combined with the restrictive building capabilities and reusing of the same levels, has such ridiculously tight restrictions without being fresh or interesting. UI is awful and clunky. I bought this at 90% off, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the Poly bridge series has spoiled me. I miss having the redo button, stress indicator, copy/paste, sim speedup and keyboard shortcuts. The controls also are very wonky. right click stops building but also deletes pieces so many times you accidentally delete something when you try to stop building. i 100%ed the game and its very difficult for the heavier vehicles. the game felt like it wanted a specific solution for each level and did not have the room for me to experiment and try…

positive · AI labelView post →most of the bridges don't really work that well and real math wasn't applied to the logic of making a bridge stick, on top of all this it doesn't have any gravity defying mechanics which make it feel like a real life project
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible controls and physics seem a bit odd and unreal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a bridge constructor it's okay, it does what it needs to. My main problem is whenever a game forces you to complete a game on X difficulty to unlock XX difficulty, then having to fully replay the game in the XX difficulty to acquire further unlocks (or in this case achievements). Dark pattern behaviour to force more playtime unnecessarily. Completionists beware. Average gamers enjoy.

[11/20⭐, 21h🏅, 4/5💡] Context Bridge Constructor is traditional bridge construction game, currently including several free DLCs that largely improve playtime. I bought the pack a few days ago because I wanted a game like it, don't get me wrong I enjoy it but it is incredibly mediocre and I only like it because it scratches a very incredibly specific itch on my back.

My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels more like a 4,99 app for the phone/tablet. They just copy the app to work on the computer and raise the price to 8,99€ It has so many bugs: The biggest one is the water bug where the bottom of the game is missing. On the lvl The Ridge - Bridge: 1 - 2 - 5 Eastern Mainland - Bridge: 2 - 4 Tamassee - Bridge: 2 - 4 Slope Mania - Tiltin North - Bridge: 1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played through the first island and there's a lot of things in this game that are frustrating for no reason or could be easily improved. 1) There's no consistency on the availability of building materials. You unlock steel cables, but you can't use them on this level... or this one! Ha ha! Even the final bridge of the first island was wood only. Complete BS. 2) The UI is very clunky. You click on the button for wood or steel and half the time it plants a node right next to the button and…

BCP is a pain to play on my phone, but I have a new tablet coming that should make it easier for my fat fingers to play.
neutral · AI labelView post →It is a passable builder mostly because of its simplicity and ease of use. It comes across as a cheap mobile game with the templated menus and all that and the Java game style en masse advertisements of other games. The building physics are silly and seem to favor building beams and "triangles", essentially being about figuring out what shapes the game treats as durable and building them almost exclusively. I got this game from a Fanatical Mystery Bundle.
