What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 187 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,120 of 1,186 positive).

Not for me. First, I want to take a moment to appreciate the immaculate pixel art, the incredibly smooth animations, and the high-energy soundtrack. Let's recognise the labour that went into this game—it's clearly a work of love. Then, the bad part : this game proposes short levels and only offers any challenge if you choose to engage with its optional 'Flawless Medal' system. Said challenge relies on a tightish …

It's a pretty neat platformer, as a fairly decent platform player I needed about 5 hours to 100% it with not only 100% achievements but also finishing the bonus levels (which are not needed for any achievements. Smooth controls, catchy soundtrack, nice hidden stuff and somewhat challenging but never unfair gameplay. It could be longer but apart from that really not a single thing to complain about.

BZZZT feels like a love letter to classic platformers from the 16-bit "SNES era", with a modern twist. It strongly reminds me of Mega Man, mixed with the fast, retry-heavy design philosophy of Super Meat Boy. Tight controls, fast restarts, and challenging level design make every run feel fair and rewarding. It’s one of those games where you fail a lot, but instantly want to try again. The retro-futuristic pixel art …

The levels in this game teem with high-resolution, elaborately-animated pixel art that'd probably seem busy in any other genre—but since everything in this game serves the same basic function of "kill you if you touch it," it ends up working out. Somewhat paradoxically, that ends up being the most memorable aspect of it—certainly more so than the actual main characters, who are comparatively small and indistinct and …

I released 3 free content updates with 24 new stages, 10 secret areas, and a new difficulty mode. The game was also localized into 11 languages and finally released on Switch. Happy Birthday!

neutral · AI labelView post →Recently a game developer by the name of Ko.Dll has been receiving flack for not supporting Chinese in their latest title: Bzzzt! More specifically, the game is getting review bombed for the game not supporting the Chinese language. This is a pretty bad precedent to set for indies. #gamedev

neutral · AI labelView post →This was my entry for the BZZZT art contest on #Newgrounds!! Bzzzt is a criminally underexposed indie platformer developed by @ko-dll.bsky.social with charming pixel art and challenging, fast-paced gameplay. 🤖 Check it out on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1293170/... #indiegame #bzzzt

neutral · AI labelView post →Completely unfun and to be honest I'm not even sure why. Playing through the levels is frustrating. The mechanics and traps feel artificial, as if they were created to look pretty but not fun to actually play with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it has a lot of things I dislike about platforms; long levels, unnecessary obstacles, and indestructible enemies. The pixel art is nice but the enemies really kill this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not necessarily a bad game per se-just a completely unremarkable one. The art and soundtrack are both solid, but everything else is extremely average at best. The runtime is extremely short (the game took me less than an hour to beat), and most of the additional challenges are neither particularly interesting nor entertaining to partake in. Considering the extremely short run time and uninspired gameplay, the price tag is just absurd. In a world where you have a countless amount of fantastic…

neutral · AI labelView post →I picked up this game in a bundle for just a few bucks, mainly because of the screenshots and some YouTube let's play videos. I managed to get through almost the entire story on normal difficulty, even though I usually don't enjoy action arcade platformers. But this game has something special that makes you want to play a few levels and feel satisfied. So, the biggest advantages of this game are: You can adjust the difficulty level anytime; The graphics are adorable, and the level design is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like this game gets overlooked a bit because of its focus on speedrunning. BZZZT is an incredible platformer with tight level design and great character control. It's short, but you’ll keep coming back to improve your runs #indiegame #indiedev
positive · AI labelView post →This is the first I've heard about the reaction from BZZZT - which is a shame because I thought it was a cute game. In any industry customer feedback should be taken with as much grace as you can manage. You don't want to alienate your community even further. Then again, with a solo developer and the sort of people this industry attracts, I'm not surprised to see an emotionally driven response to negative feedback. I've dabbled in game dev, and I have to say that - especially as a solo…
neutral · AI labelView post →I picked this game up on sale mainly to support my local indie developer, and if it wasn’t for that, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up. It is a mediocre 2D platformer, but it certainly radiates the author’s love for it, and I admire that. The most exceptional aspect is the pixel art — it’s bright, playful, and fits the cheerful tone of the game perfectly. Every level looked great, and I was honestly amazed that this game was made by just one person. However, the most important thing in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of hard platformers and pixel graphics, I expected a lot from this game. It is very well made and the gameplay is pretty good (although not as good as, let's say, Celeste). My major problem with this game are the levels. A lot of them are way too long, making it more infuriating then fun. That's why I can't recommend this game. If the levels were shorter, the game would be perfect imo. Now it's just frustating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here’s a fanart mockup of this game of the year that ranks up with Bzzzt. Made in Aseprite in style of Astro Boy Omega Factor (Sony was involved on this GBA title). This game brings me back nostalgia. #ドット絵 #pixelart #aseprite #mockup

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BZZZT, developed by KO.DLL and published by CINEMAX GAMES, is a standout platformer that masterfully captures the spirit of classic 1980s arcade games while infusing it with modern precision and design sensibilities. From the moment players jump into its world, they’re met with a finely tuned challenge that demands careful timing, strategic thinking, and relentless perseverance. The game’s tight controls and responsive mechanics ensure that every jump, dash, and maneuver feels intentional,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes you can have localisations for 11 languages but Chinese, because you said you were short on resources(when there were players providing completed translation for free but got humiliated in your discord). The controls are “tight”. Deep in my bones, i know it’s my fault. I am the drilla. I am the weakness. I am un œuf, trembling rn. Visually? It's like surströmming. Truly. Noticing new details with each passing 0.1 hour, like a man eating a blighted jollof. The soundtrack will be playing at my funeral. What I admire most is the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its funny because the game is so cheap (when on sale) that i thought why not. But yeah, its not worth your time i dont think. The art is pretty good and the music is good (i dont like it but i can tell its not bad) but is not a good platformer. Like, you can't sprint. On a platformer. Not refunding because it was cheap and it feels like they do want to make a good game but yeah
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good, tight gameplay. Perfect for fans of timed platformers like Neon White.

neutral · AI labelView post →KAMGUSTA'S MINI REVIEW A hidden gem! It's a pixel perfect platformer with 76 fast (from 2 seconds to 2 minutes) levels. Graphics is nice, reminds the game "Jetpack Joyride", with also humorous sketches. Music is spot on. Easy first levels and hard last levels, as it should be - and you can also change the difficulty. In these types of games it's important to have 100% control of your actions, and there is. It may be a little on the short side, but if you manage to get it for 5 bucks, it's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The music is lovely and why i bought this game. The art is pretty The gameplay is incredibly simple and the level design is pretty mixed. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bzzzt. Wrong. If it hurts republicans, it's good. This is a zero-sum game and has been for a long time. The only way we can make progress is if we first stop the MAGAGOP.
