Many players find the game enjoyable but note it feels like a mobile game port. [1][2][3] Several reviewers criticize the high price for a game available on mobile platforms. [4][5][6] Some players appreciate the nostalgia and modern take on the classic franchise. [7][8][9]

Played less than 5 minutes of this and requested a refund. Really, really disappointed with this. It's literally a mobile game that they've put up on Steam for nearly $40 (with the DLC). What a shame. If you want to play it on an iPhone, they have it in the Apple Arcade... Been waiting for decades for a new Carmen Sandiego game. It installed in seconds and flashed a Netflix logo. I had a hunch at that point that it …

Carmen Sandiego is one of the first games I played as a kid in the early 90s. I also watched a ton of the TV show. Have tons of nostalgia for this franchise. And this game just... falls flat of what I'd expect in 2025. The original game had 30 locations. This game has 15. That kind of sums up everything wrong with this version of Carmen Sandiego... it's just less and worse than a game made 40 years ago. Impressive …

If I could give this game a sideways thumbs I would. I dont think it deserves a thumbs all the way up, but it doesnt deserve a thumbs down. It's meerly meh. I was very excited for this game to come out. I bought it and downloaded it as soon as possible on launch day. Once I started playing, it just felt like an "okay" game. The graphics are good. but the game play gets a bit stale after a bit. Overall, I'll keep it, …

LOVE this game!! If you played the old games you'll like this imo. It's very much like the old PC games with some modern mechanics mixed in. Very educational still; you learn multiple facts in every location you visit, and even every time you visit (I've gone back to multiple locations and keep adding facts to the almanac). Apparently you can play it on mobile? I hate playing games on my phone though, especially a …

Look, a solid half of the enjoyment of this game is nostalgia for all us 80s/90s kids who learned a weird amount of geography from a woman in a red hat. If you don't have that nostalgia, a lot of this game is going to lack the kind of punch that it does for us. That said, it's a solid puzzle game. There are a ton of mini puzzles on each caper that are repeated across the capers but not in their solutions, just that …

neutral · AI labelView post →Total rip-off. This is a port of the “free to Netflix users” game. This is even free in the google play store. 30 bucks for a mobile game and 25 for a DLC that gives a skin, music, art and one single caper with Carmen as the bad guy like the old games? Not worth it. I played less than 10 minutes of playing. 100% NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. Might be worth it though for people who do not have a Netflix subscription… but to me this is just a mobile game port that’s being overcharged for
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember when Google Earth introduced a Carmen Sandiego game in 2019 that I pointed out was the only Carmen game officially "in print" and playable? And the Google Earth account responded to a comment that was skeptical about how long it'd exist for? That game quietly broke in an update in 2023.

neutral · AI labelView post →I played this game for 30 minutes before asking for a refund. I wanted to love it, but it plays more like a visual novel. Which is fine but then why not advertise it as that? You're not playing as Carmen in most scenes it's just text, and after leveling up it became repetitive and a little obvious that they were recycling the same cities for every mission. Plus on top of all of this, the game is available for free on your phone. I didn't even realize that until after I'd refunded. Just get it…

neutral · AI labelView post →Let's get one thing straight, i LOVED Carmen Sandiego games as a kid, but this, wow, its got some beautiful level design within the game but it's utterly squandered. I also can't co-sign Carmen being the lead - Carmen is always the enigmatic villain who drives the game forward in a way for us to be compelled to catch her, with that reversed, the game just loses its exciting bite. As such the game just feels a bit aimless and childlike Otherwise, the gameplay is a serious issue. Some of the…

neutral · AI labelView post →The 'tutorial' vs the first level of this game feel very different. The graphics were 3d-ish for the 'tutorial' section, but then the first case is pixel art. The game just feels misleading and misrepresented. Also, as others said, mobile game feel for A-list game price. Disappointed, and returned/refunded.

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm not sure if this game is actually "finished" - it seems incomplete. Also, WILDLY overpriced for what you get. There is very little gameplay - can do the whole thing in a few hours or less - and, like I said, it feels like an incomplete game. I wanted to love this for the nostalgia factor but, at this price point, it's absolute crap.

neutral · AI labelView post →I like Netflix's Carmen sandiego a lot, but but gameslop studio did really bad job there. The game has some bugs like you know where the VILE operative is, you narroved down the possibilities to 2 guys, but you flew too fast to that city, did not discover that one random person in mexico that knew that Vile operative was afraid of the dark, so you loose, because the warrant was not ready, and you have to replay the whole mission. EDIT: it turns out that if you file warrant on wrong person,…

Like many other players, I was also excited to play a revamp to the Carmen Sandiego games I grew up with and I did not read through the reviews before I purchased. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, the final chapter of the primary case - which is distinct from the "archived cases" you can also play in that only the primary case includes animation,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is pretty good remake of Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? The only problem with this game is that it seems to waste your time in the beginning to unlock next missions. Even if you solve early easy missions successfully, you still don't get enough points to proceed to next mission, so you need to replay the mission to get the required level. Later missions become more challenging (geographic facts, English skill, QTE events, puzzle minigames), but then the progression seems to solve…

neutral · AI labelView post →I'll be honest here and say that I bought the deluxe edition of this game more because I really liked the show than for the game itself. Even so, I can't recommend this at the price it is set for what is offered here. It boils down to finding small clues in a guessing game of "Who is it, and where next?" Whether you get information or not for an action is based on some common sense guessing, such as trying to cut someone off by running on top of a bullet train being a bad idea because it's too…

neutral · AI labelView post →I have enjoyed this game so far. It has a lot of the feel of the old Carmen Sandiego but with the modern puzzle solving look. I can see myself finishing this game. Only thing I wish is that some of the older games (like Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego) could get incorporated into this sort of game.

positive · AI labelView post →Really not much to do here. I don't really understand how they managed to take away the fun from the really fun Carmen San Diego books. The "puzzles" if you could even call them that are not just linear but non-dimensional in the sense that you don't even have to do anything since everything is pretty obvious. They really managed to take the fun and excitement of looking for the suspect in the Carmen San Diego books. Good animations and graphics really are not everything for making good games.…

It is a simple puzzle game that follows the same logic of the older 'Carmen Sandiego' games. You fly to a city on the world map. find clues on the stole object, fly to new areas based on clues, rinse and repeat until you make the arrest. My biggest problem is the game play is not very engaging. This game was developed by Gameloft, who exclusively makes Mobile games and ports of major titles to Mobile devices.…
