What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 175 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (505 of 625 positive).
Players praise the game as a fun, nostalgic beat 'em up with deep combat. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the game for cheap difficulty and visual clutter. [4][5][6] A few players note the game has glitches and a mobile-game look. [7][8]

Too much BS for a thumbs up. I had originally given a lukewarm "ok but..." but after playing a bit more, I just have to revise that rating... Be warned that the game gets really cheap really fast. The game-play then boils down to spamming your 8 specials (4 which are character-specific, 4 shared between all your roster) in turn, then running around until things recharge. At some point, I've had no less than 8-9 …

This is a great homage to the side scrolling, character-swap, and 2 player co-op beat em ups that started way back with the Double Dragon arcade machine. This isn't to say that CK isn't a fully modernised version of such games. You can buy permanent skill powerups for each of a myriad of characters from the Netflix tv series and customise each of them to play differently. I Tried the Cobra Kai path briefly first …

Is this a great game? No. But it's fun. Love the gameplay and the actors voice acting. The story is dumb, but what could you expect. If you have any doubts to play this then... QUIET. Go play it now (you'll need a controller for it. I mean you can try with the keyboard but the layout is annoying). Good luck. COBRA KAI NEVER DIE (blegh).

Very nice game and totally overlooked by many. I played all side scroll beat em ups since Double Dragon on my commodore 64 and even Streets of Rage pales in comparison to this game combat wise. Loved the Karate Kid movies when I was young, I did not really follow the Cobra Kai series but I'm guessing it's as cheesy as the movies, if not more. There is no lack of cheesiness in this game, that's for sure. Beat 'em Up games also give me those nostalgic feelings of back in the day when I used to play games like; Golden Axe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV, Fighting Force, Double Dragon and Streets Of Rage to …

Not even the quality but audience sentiment dropped off (but yea also the quality) Frozen peaked from the start and fell off a cliff The lesson should've been "more bold creative originals"

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straight off the bat, very enjoyable game. Now onto the review I find myself in a position where I have to make a gaming apology. Upon the initial reveal trailer for the game, i immediately trashed the graphics, assumed it would be a horrible shallow cash grab game and probably some other irrational statements After spending my first few hours with the game, I find the graphics have grown on me, the voice acting matches the TV series, the game play (beat em up double dragon style not normally…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Many of the enemies start to glow red which means no matter what you do their next attack is invincible. This isn't so bad at first but soon after the first level is over it seems like the devs just spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of this and it's REALLY annoying. The graphics aren't that great either, kinda has that mobile game look to it. The soundtrack is also very generic. Best to stick with SoR2 and 4.

And what I found was actually quite the let down. The hit box is very bad, while the camera doesn't help either because sometimes you advance but can't go back to get an item that a enemy droped on the floor, even though its quite in sight, some basic thing that reminds me of the old double dragon on sega master system, but that was in the 8-bits era. neutral · AI labelView post →When bad idea meets bad execution Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues tries to piggy back from the popularity of a TV series but fails miserably. While the TV series focuses on passion to a very real sport, that traverses not only generations but also walls of a dojo, the game somehow managed to add fire and ice magic, physics breaking jump kicks, unblockable special moves and temporary invulnerability. If that wasn't enough, it went out of its way to show as many colourful flashes and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fascinating case study in how to do a technically competent job of building a game while failing to make it fun. The pacing is off (it took me over half an hour to finish the tutorial level), the fights are slow, the hit detection is too fiddly, the fanservice inaccurate, the experience as a whole is tedious. I suspect that I'd be less offended if I didn't like the IP as much as I do. I just the strong feeling that the creators aren't fans of beat 'em up games, and they're not fans of the…

neutral · AI labelView post →I love th tv show, but this game is fun at times but it is really a test of your willingness to keep doing repetitive things over and over again. You are constantly fighting 5-7 enemies who continually do attacks you can’t stop.
