What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 67 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (267 of 289 positive).
Players praise the game as a classic WWII RTS with improved graphics and engaging tactical gameplay. [1][2][3] Some note it is very similar to Phase One, essentially adding new missions and factions. [4][5][6]

Reskinned copy paste of first game with tiny bit of features added, way overpriced and worth a while to buy it for 3 euro if you liked the first one but still you won't see many of the features from first part. 3/10

This game is basicly a DLC of phase one. Virtually everything is the same (game mechanics, graphics, ...), just new missions. It is quite a bit shorter than Phase one as well with +-20 missions (compared to about 30 in P1). As it is virtually the same as Phase one, you'll enjoy this one if you enjoyed the first one as well, like I did and do. If you haven't played Phase one, just buy that one instead.

This is how you make a sequel. Amazing fricking game - Great gameplay - Great story - Great cinematics - Great graphics - Great replayability Overall 9.4/10

Codename: Panzers, Phase Two—the second installment in the three-part Codename: Panzers franchise—is an old-school, traditional World War II RTS typical of its era, with updated graphics. It's very enjoyable and if you're a fan of WWII RTS games, this is a must-have. In my experience, this sequel is a bit harder than the first: you'll need to put more effort into beating it, especially to complete all the optional …

I played this game first before steam even existed it is better than the first on graphics an enjoyable game.

neutral · AI labelView post →It is a classic strategy in 2 parts. Phase 1 almost equal to Phase 2, the only thing Phase 2 have done is new missions and Italy + Yugoslavia. Story is very well written, panzers themselves are good realized. Infantry is a bit sucky (it always so in classics). Despite being released in 2004, the game is good alternative to that Company of Heroes 2 shame. Campaing is more interesting, game is harder (if you choose hard mode your losses will be unrestorable) and it doesnt want you to buy stuff…

There is this scene where an englishman and italian chat about tea while everything around them is shot to pieces. The combat though, is far from nifty. In fact it doesn't pay when you avoid of the scripted path. The scenarios I saved are fun to play but if you find some online watch out there are a few that are bugged and wreck the game so you have to reinstall. Wish developers made scenarios still. Too bad the company was undercut (from what I've read) and sold out. Just reinstalled on new computer.

Anyway, I prefer this part over the first one. The game is honestly more difficult and the unit selection is larger due to it having part of them from the previous game and new factions. The cutscenes were much better done here. They even have animated faces this time and a tad bit better voice acting. The pathfinding is still a bit of an issue…
