What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 168 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (6,067 of 6,777 positive).
Players praise the game's humor, writing, and crafting system. [1][2][3] Many reviewers note the game becomes repetitive and grindy, especially in later biomes. [4][5][6] Some players find the combat mechanics and enemy targeting frustrating. [7][8]

It's quite funny, but the grind is unbearable. To give you an idea, only 10% of players reach the end of the game. There are three biomes where you're forced to repeat the exact same steps: you unlock the saw in that biome, you unlock the shovel in that biome, you unlock the fishing rod in that biome, you unlock eight factories in that biome. And then you start all over again in the next biome. The only difference …

This game is a masterpiece in the top down RPG genre. With infinite inventory and simple but entertaining combat, combined with hilarious writing and funny art design, this game is a gem. While the story is fun in its own right, you can easily spend tons of time messing around gathering thousands of logs...to build a giant wooden house (enemies won't attack your structures). Or not. Or you can grind tons of gear …

Crashlands is a fine grindy children's game. It is clear this was a mobile game, not tailored for a full PC experience. The game is the baby level version of "Don't Starve (2013)". There is no loss or consequences, no stress or actual survival. Just grinding, crafting and combat. The Writing was fun and the game visually looks good. While the combat is very basic, it was elevated by the various mobs and bosses. I …

Played the game at initial launch on my phone. Came back to replay for the launch of the second one. Crashlands is easily one of my favorite games I've played. Calming, rage inducing, sarcastic, hilarious, and so enjoyable. Now to spend to much time playing it for the hardcore wins

Crashlands is a delightfully quirky and engaging game that shines with its humor, creativity, and robust crafting system. The seamless blend of exploration, resource gathering, and storytelling offers players a refreshing take on survival gaming. Its intuitive design ensures accessibility for both casual players and dedicated gamers, while the endless inventory system eliminates the frustration of item management. …

Awards, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences nominated Crashlands for "Mobile Game of the Year".

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept and ideas here were really cool but poorly executed. The grinding is painfully long right off the bat which immediately soured my experience. If the gameplay was more fun and rewarding, then the grinding wouldn't be as tedious, but the combat wasn't fun enough to justify the sheer number of materials needed for all the base building and item upgrading.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the full story on Ludicrous difficulty, unlocked all story achievements, and ended with an endgame megabase after ~68 hours. I actually played this game years ago on my phone using a pirated/modded version when I was still in high school. At the time, my English wasn’t great, so I didn’t fully understand the humor or dialogue. Funny enough, this game ended up motivating me to learn English better, which later helped with my studies and exams. So yeah..sorry for pirating back then. I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had bought this years ago and had difficulty playing due to lack of key binding options and my missing a limb. Ended up returning it. Happy to say that they have updated key bindings/accessibility and I'm able to play easily now! I don't think I'm very far in yet but having a blast. The base building options are fun/cute, the hack/slash combat style paired with mob AOE makes you have to strategically move, and the snarky characters are great. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since I don't wanna say Terraria all the time, I'll say Crashlands! I've really enjoyed it, it has a fun game loop, crazy NPCs and isn't taking anything seriously. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't have much replayability.

neutral · AI labelView post →The simple fact that you need to click on an enemy to focus it in order to attack and that the focus drops constantly, even when constantly moving in circles close to the enemy, makes this a failed game mechanic and drags the entire game down, They should add an option to 100% focus enemy even when not on top of them and click off of the enemy to lose focus or make it so clicking attacks. Requiring focus that constantly drops just does not work.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a trip to a mutated alien Florida. I came into it a skeptic and it's boring for the first 5 minutes. You begin by escaping for your life after your spaceship is destroyed by an evil alien. You're then told you need to build your way out of being stranded on this alien planet. The hunting and crafting loop is intriguing but been there, done that. The real hook comes in when you realize that you're in fact not alone and this planet is inhabited by hilarious aliens and that you can…

The crafting is fun, infinite inventory space is great, I liked the NPCs and story, and there is plenty of diversity with the mobs. But the further I got, the more it just turned into a grind fest. I played on normal because I wanted a somewhat chill experience with some challenging bosses/mini-bosses. Instead I am getting 1/2 shot by elite…

The progress in game is pretty cool and can get really intrigate but you don't need to follow the generic story line. it's all open world. If you can get over the clunky combat that is a major part of the game but love grindy game, this is an amazing game. Otherwise, stay away. Long review: Interesting game. positive · AI labelView post →i really enjoyed my time, beating hardcore on ludicrous difficulty took some patience but still was overall a high stress but satisfying experience. story mode doesnt drag on too much, and it can be a bit slow getting into it at first (getting distracted can be very, very easy with the procedurally generated areas) one thing some negative reviews mentioned was the target losing focus and mouse combat, in my experience the combat is pretty smooth with so very few random interactions, you can…

It visual design was consistent and thoughtful, clearly purposeful and…
