Players love the smooth, satisfying grappling hook movement. [1][2][3] Many find the game addictive for speedrunning and chasing better times. [4][5][6] Some reviewers dislike the difficulty spike in the final levels. [7][8]

Starts off super fun, tons of freedom you don't have to follow the path etc and then the last few levels are "If you aren't within these confined spaces at all given times you cannot win and also the fun has been removed" last section killed the game for me.

Cyber Hook is basically a grappling hook and a lot of momentum. At first it feels messy. You miss platforms, panic grapple and slam into walls. But after a few levels something clicks and suddenly you're flying through sections that felt impossible a few minutes earlier. The whole game lives from movement. Swing, release, adjust in mid air and hope the next platform is exactly where you thought it was. Levels are …

A fantastic game with smooth controls and brilliantly satisfying movement. The satisfaction and dopamine rush of going incredibly fast to skip half a map or whipping around the corner at mach 27 to land in the goal hasn't been beaten for me by any other game. It is one of the only games I bothered to 3 star every level of because it didn't feel ridiculous to do it, it was just fun the whole way through. I love it to …

I really enjoyed Cyber Hook for most of the game. The movement is fast, satisfying, and surprisingly addictive once you get into the flow of swinging, jumping and blasting through levels. It was genuinely a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the last few levels completely killed the experience for me. The difficulty spike felt less like a fun challenge and more like pure frustration. Some levels, like "Hover", were …

Its fun, but not like amazing. Its super bare bones and I like the going fast part of the game I just would like to see some variety in the environment and I want to see some sort of mechanic switch up. I want to experiment with something and I think the grappling can get stale. I dislike the dialogue in this game and I skipped it all. Get this game when its cheap (like single digit numbers), and if you like …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love grappling hooks in games, and one of the most fun games I've ever played is Cyber Hook. In a game physics course I'm taking, I felt inspired to make my own grappling hook game. Behold, an early prototype of Grapple Arena! #gamedev #indiedev #gamedevelopment
positive · AI labelView post →Personal Rating: Very Positive (80%) I mean... it's decent, but it does what it wants do to pretty well. It's a platformer speedrunner game. If you games like Neon White, this is similar, just a bit more simplistic (and with neon theme) While the game plays fair, some stages feel too difficult (talking about 3-stars) You can fly past 3 stages in like 10 minutes, and then there's one random stage that you'll take 20 mins, and then there are easy ones after it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →P. S. If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240 A crooked neon thing Cyber Hook is built around the mechanics of a grappling hook, speed boosts, shooting from the finger (though there's very little of it in the game), and slowing down time. In theory, it should all come together for some thrilling movement, but in reality, it feels pretty average. The visuals go for a retro-wave, 80s…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolute blast if you love speedrunning! The grappling hook feels amazing, the movement is smooth, and nailing a perfect run is super satisfying. Local and global leaderboards will keep you competing for better times.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, one of the best grappling hook games, but to finish the story you have to buy the DLC. Upon finishing the game, it just sends you back to the homescreen, that was kind of disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game, lovely movement mechanics, and fun levels. The process of learning and improving feels rewarding and is very entertaining. There is a story to this, but it's so minimal that it wouldn't make a difference for the game to not have one. I would like for the story to be expanded, and I know it will be once 10k people beat the game. I personally really appreciate that they have the "training grounds" before going into a level just to practice or play around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good game love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that lets you make a fool out of Spider-Man and Nathan "Rad" Spencer. Tldr; The coolest game you'll find about swinging. 3 levels are awful, but the rest is pretty good Pros: + The coolest swinging mechanics I've ever seen in a game + Fast-paced, exciting, and I'd be incredibly surprised if you didn't pop-off at least once screaming "YEEESSSS" + Plataforming is responsive, and the controls are tight, making for a smooth swinging experience + Most levels are reasonable and fair, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this from March 2021 Humble Choice. It's a lot of fun, swinging like Spider-Man but instead of being graceful and elegant, there's a lot of crashing into objects and resetting... for me at least. This was a lot of fun, though while you can swing like Spider-Man and double jump like Scout from TF2, nothing matches the speed of just running. In fact, in the "in-between mission playground area" there is essentially a track where you can run around in circles, well squares actually, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those game for people who like to restart the same level 200 times just to beat it .5 seconds faster and be top 1000 in the world. People like me. Pure speed running fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fire prolly the best speedrunning game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's really fun, the only reason i stopped playing was to write this review. i got the game for a little over $2, and i'm definitely getting my money's worth. the movement in this game is awesome, not clunky at all and sets a really fair, but challenging pace for the user. not to mention the game itself looks pretty good graphically, i’m digging the whole vaporwave-esque, sort of retro vibe they’re trying to do here. cool colors make for a cool experience. highly recommend, especially when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly an amazing game. If you like physics based games, speedrunning games and route optimization, this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is made by people who don't play games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3D-Platformer with grapple mechanic. The controls feels solid and well-rounded. There is a feature allowing you to slow down time too. The game doesn't really incentivize it's use elsewhere, as the in-game timer keeps going at a normal pace. This is a good thing. The only use it has aside from slowing down time is an extended grab range. There is only one level that seems to have required this. If the intended use of the mechanic is primarily for newcomers, then it's fine I suppose. It felt…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The rush of adrenaline you feel when you're stuck on a level for 30 minutes and beat it just to see you got a 3 star time and never have to touch said level ever again is absolute drugs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game feels absolutely awesome to play! The only part I didn't like was "The End" as it becomes a massive difficulty curve that doesn't really work in favor of the game. I'd recommend getting this if it's 10 bucks or less for a great 3 hours of play!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good fun, great to play repetitively while listening to something
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is there a part of your brain that loves graple hooks but regularly that part doesn't get scratched the right way? Do you miss the old Spiderman 2 game swinging mechanics, but want that dialled up to 1000? Would you sacrifice your wife, to implant her soul in a graple arm? If you said yes to any of the above, get this game. It's as simple as that.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really an underrated game with a too small playerbase. There are not many games out there with this unique hook-mechanic and also the shooting and slow-mo is really cool. Art style and graphics are also nice, overall defenitely recommend it. Worked flawlessly, no crashes not much pressure on GPU and CPU.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finally checked out Cyber Hook last night, as per your recommendation. It’s awesome! I only have about an hour of playtime into it so far but I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for the recommendation.
positive · AI labelView post →Amazing game, feels amazing to play and it's rewarding to grind out new best times. I still boot this game up and run through it again even though ive played all the levels a bajillion times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes you just stumble upon a game and you fall in love with it. For me it is Cyber Hook! Absolutely great movement game, great fun and pushes my competitive side ❤️ What's the last game that has hooked you?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was on my Wishlist for a while but I never pulled the trigger cause I wasn't sure the idea looked fun enough to put it over other games I wanted to purchase at the time, but I bought it about a week ago or something and good God am I glad I gave it a chance. First off if its on sale for 2 bucks like I did its a no brainer, the game is extremely small file wise so it wont take up room and it has tons of levels. The whole grappling hook idea is WAAAY MORE FUN when actually freestyling…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game but the finale was completely unplayable for me, i kept respawning inside red damage blocks over and over. Strongly recommend the rest of the game but don't bother with the level 'Him'.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont play this game it will ruin your life if you dare touch it you will expolde bc i sucks so much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kinda crazy how much fun this is found myself redoing the same stages over and over again, not because i had to but because i wanted to beat the target times. i dont have a single complaint 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games very fun when its fun but is grueling when you're stuck. Also not a fan of the precise double jumping segments. Beating all of the levels sends you to the home screen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game is not finished. The story does not have an end. I read you'd need to buy the dlc for that? If thats true thats even more bad than just not being finished. The game runs very smooth, the gameplay is very quick and fast and its definitely fun. Very hard, if you want to collect all the crystals from the levels though. I wanted to finish the games story and try to get all the crystals afterwards, after having gotten more skill and having gotten used to the controls. However, if the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad! The story is extremely perfunctory and the fact that there's only one music track is maybe not the best, but the movement feels nice and most of the levels use it well. The last set of levels is dead set on making you do things that are not very fun, but it's ok since you don't really need to play any of them to finish the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great speed-running game. Good visuals, good level design, SUPER satisfying physics. My only real gripe is that the final boss in the DLC is frustrating and kinda bugged out, but in my opinion that's easy to overlook when the rest of the game is this fun. If you like time-attack games, 100% pick this up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →steam wanted a review
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love every single part of this game. The movement mechanics, trying to figure out the best swinging angles and how to use momentum to take shortcuts to trim down time. Very fun game... My only complaint is the very last level which is a boss fight (level - "HIM"). For what COULD have been an a fun little fight that incorporated all of the various mechanics and things like the speed tunnels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my favourite game. This game introduced me to the world of synthwave parkour and I am just addicted to it. No other game comes close to the level design, vibe, soundtrack and the mechanics of this game (not even Titanfall 2, my previous favourite game). Thanks for the music. Thanks for the wallpapers. Thanks for "Try Harder", "Master Airbender" and 'One more time". Thanks for the great time!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Built around the grappling hook and letting go of the swing at the right time to keep that momentum going. Different colour blocks have different attributes and the stages are short enough to not become stressful. Short, but there's a lot of replayability if you aim for rankings. The DLC bundle is cheaper than the standalone game btw.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really good if you love grappling hooks and parkour
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TBH, this game is dreadful. Decent movement mechanics, but truly terrible level design. Literally had fun for zero seconds. Graphics are bad, music is awful, and the menus suck. The indie trifecta. Also, the robot is extremely annoying. The writing and sound effects related to the blue robot need to be deleted. The dialogue is unskippable and seems to have been written by a child. Made me want to gouge out my own eye.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LOTS of bugs, i have to restart the whole game after every level to see my gem progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is one of the greatest games I have ever played the movement is immaculate and I am almost addicted it is so fun to find a level you like running and just trying it again and again until you get a high ranking world wide I love it and to anybody who likes fast paced movement based platformers would have a great time with this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i bought this for 1,60 euros bro like this was the peakest bundle ever frfr anyway buy it if you want sure but expect that this game WONT update this game is dead now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine if you were Spiderman but not depressed. And also if you were trapped inside a synthwave wallpaper. And also if your finger was a gun. Is a good game, play it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Watching my nephew play Roblox and this game looks genuinely amazing. It pains me to see the effort gone into this game only for Roblox to make all of the money. Like this reminds me of Titan fall 2 speed running or Cyber Hook, without the hook.
neutral · AI labelView post →This is actually crazy fun! I think they could have afforded a second music track, but that's my only issue. Very cool and fun dynamic gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fast paced, non stop fun... really enjoying this game.. would recommend if you like fast paced platform games like ghost runner
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun, fast paced, linear platformer game with great hook physics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and challenging game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I just started playing Cyber Hook and holy moly what fun movement A playground of momentum and elasticity ... oh, and there's the actual game levels, too So fun, would recommend
positive · AI labelView post →I need more top tier non-AAA games (because my library isn't already huge and dusty 🫠) Taking recommendations - currently back to Cyber Hook
positive · AI labelView post →First game finished in 2024! Here we have Cyber Hook, a super fun fast paced first person platformer that answers the question nobody asked...what would the offspring of Spider-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog be like? profsmash.wordpress.com/2024/01/28/g...
positive · AI labelView post →nice, challenging and nice
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is just so perfect. It goes with the best grapple mechanic, tbh I've never seen anything better than this hook, the sense of momentum in this game is fucking unmatched!! If you ever notice the game goes on sale, just PURCHASE this masterpiece!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little speedrun game. If you're into those, you'll enjoy it. I bounce off of them pretty hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun to speed run and I feel like it is def worth picking up on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game deserves more recognition. The movement is incredibly fluid, it can get really difficult, but in a fun way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Felt so cool playing this. The aesthetic is superb and I absolutely love how much freedom of movement you get in the levels, The controls, movement, and gameplay are for all intents and purposes, completely smooth. An incredible 7 hours well spent. There could have been more with regards to the enemies and stories, but that's ofc not why you're playing so it's fine. I actually kinda like the tongue in cheek-ness of it. The skill progression is also perfect. I like how they have the open…
