The Fobia is short for repetitophobia. Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel is a puzzle horror walking simulator. And walking you will. While the game has a great atmosphere, mostly good puzzles and a nice story, it failed to keep me interested. You'll be walking and back-tracking the same hallways more than anything. The halls dont change. Enemies dont respawn, you just run the same hallway again for the dozenth time. Going …

Wow so I have a lot of issues with this game. Let's talk about the elephant in the room, the performance, this game runs awfully. My rig can run Monster Hunter Wilds on max with RTX at 100-144fps consistently but this game had consistent lagspikes on top of running at around 25-30fps during entire sections. this isn't acceptable performance. Next up the shooting is completely unsatisfying and flat, the bosses are …

Resident Evil, but Brazilian. It's got a great plot, great puzzles, great gimmick with the magic camera! The writing, voice acting, and graphics are often... not great, but the rest *more* than makes up for it. If you think running around a spooky hotel solving puzzles and scrounging for loot and occasionally shooting a zombie is a good time, then you're gonna have a blast here. An unpolished gem, but a gem …

A surprisingly good survival horror game Pros -Cool atmosphere, explore an abandoned hotel while u hear the storm outside the windows -Peak survival horror, backtracking, clever puzzles and resource management -A story that can be confusing but its still interesting, lots of documents to find and read -A time travel mechanic that makes the experience feel unique, and its done in a way that its easy to use and …

My review will be both objective and subjective. I would specify that I've beaten the game, and this review is spoiler-free. Fobia is a great game. Keeping in account that it was made in Brasil by eight people, it reaches the level of a company product: Detailed graphics, coherent audio, responsive controls and a dense complicated story. The atmosphere is very well made. The aspect itself sinks the player in an …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too many puzzles to the point it gets beyond repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not my kind of game. Too much: find the document that gives you the code that unlocks the safe that gives you the key to unlock the door.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely feels like the new RE games. I had the best time. 10/10. Combat could be better but that's not the point of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow this game turned out to be boring garbage. Went in with excitement as a Resident Evil franchise fan, I knew it was inspired by it and since it was made by indie team, I had my expectations in check, left lots of room to wiggle, but man you just can not make this boring game, you just can't. Fetching and backtracking is all you do, 90% of "puzzles" requires a code, 2 types of extremely bland enemies, no melee, which means, if you're not careful with the ammo, you might get softlocked.…

It is a ghost! Very scary, isn't it?" "Go Go check it, I promise there is no jumpscare" "HAHA GOTCHA! I placed the ghost there" Then, when you reach the 25% of the game: "Ghost? What ghost? You are so credulous, bro." "There are no ghosts or spiritual things in this game."…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just puzzle after puzzle in maze after maze. I like the atmosphere of games like this, but I hate when the dev drags a single hour of actual gameplay out to six hours of artificially elongated puzzle-fests. I'd rather play the hour hour, personally.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game tries to be so many things at once and delivers most of the things really bad. It attempts to mix Resident Evil playstyle with some RPG elements but it just doesn't work in my opinion. The total lack of melee means that you are unable to fight even bosses if you don't have ammo, softlocking yourself.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's immediately clear that the developers were inspired by Resident Evil. The game has good graphics, riddles, an interesting plot (if you read the notes), as well as good music and sounds. Passwords are not easy to find, and in some cases it is better to find them on the Internet than to spend an extra hour searching. To me, it's more of a puzzle game than a horror game. The monsters aren't particularly scary, and the bosses, in my opinion, are balanced.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost good, but not quite. I can understand why this game has so many positive reviews. It's a really solid attempt, and I'd hesitate to call it a bad game, but I just don't think I enjoyed enough of the 14 hours I put in to warrant recommending it. Granted, a significant chunk of those were spent running around and finding all the secrets at the end of the game. The puzzles are generally pretty good albeit there are a few pretty daft ones, and the combat is serviceable even if, the shotgun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horror? None. Inspirations? Based on GUI - Resident Evil All i experienced was a walking simulator and point and click mixture. Looked good, but visuals and audios are the only good points of this indie game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huge news, horror fans! 🩸 A.I.L.A is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S! These are the same devs who made Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel, so if you loved that game, you'll defo want to check this out 👀 #indiegame
neutral · AI labelView post →Fobia is wonky as hell, but I love it. It's very clearly inspired by RE7. The negatives, though, I gotta be up front about. - number one complaint is an incredibly tedious "forest" section of the game that feels like a more obnoxious "ship" section of RE7. It's much shorter to get through than the ship, but it constantly pushes a slow mo effect that absolutely kills momentum. It's infuriating. Even on my first playthrough I started getting ansty, especially when the cut scenes started. -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good : A Nice Amount of challenging puzzles, nothing too hard but not overly hand-holdy to make you feel walked in that aspect. The lore is abundant, lots of world building via audio and written logs. Well designed character models and Assets. The Whole Game oozes atmosphere (in a good way) lots of little things that can be interpolated via just the environments alone. The Bad : The game is mostly fetch quests with many hours spent backtracking to the same areas multiple times over. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a miserable, frustrating experience. I feel kind of bad for giving it a negative review but I did buy this game at launch at full price and I don't feel like I got my moneys worth out of it. I would not recommend this even to the most die-hard Survival Horror fans out there. Pros: + Great length (9-10 hours for a Survival Horror is perfect) + Decent graphics for an indie game + Boss fights were pretty fun + Scary, this game made me jump at least a dozen times Cons: - Combat is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not that it's bad, but it's not good either, its meh. I am a big fan of everything horror and shooting, resident evil games etc. but this is just not for me. It didn't click at all. This just feels boring, not particularly scary and the puzzles feel like a drag. You need to open every single drawer (and there are a lot), search every single inch. Take note of every single thing written on the walls. I mean, I get it, it's supposed to be puzzle based but I believe that there is space for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was therapeutic walking down these devastated hallways and rooms. What kept me going was everything BUT the horror. You'll definitely like this if you enjoy loitering eerie locations filled with suspicious statues, book shelves and paintings as you examine your items and fiddle with random puzzles. Listening to the odd creaks and bangs and howls and faint thundering. The oh and hmm inductions preceding eurekas.

neutral · AI labelView post →if you love opening dozen's of draws, searching for keys to open doors, to find keys to open other doors to find a safe with a key in it to open another door, then this is the game for you,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hate to give this a thumbs down because it's a good effort. But ultimately the puzzle design and confusing backtracking is too frustrating for me to keep playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good! Considering the size of the team and that it is a Brazilian game, this game is an extraordinary achievement. Great atmosphere, puzzles, graphics and animations, story is kinda all over the place and hard to piece, but it is not bad. Audio is also great and the double reality mechanics are always nice! The only real criticism that I have is a very weak combat component, premade death animations, no physics, no gore, no damage, no flavour at all. Bossfights are also pretty annoying…

I will need to wait for almost 2 weeks when I will be able to make a purchase. I have some ideas but I won't be sharing them for now 🤫!
neutral · AI labelView post →This would be a cool surreal puzzle game, but it is ruined by atrocious combat. Enemies keep coming, you burn through your miniscule ammo and it's over. Devs, poorly designed combat is worse than not having it at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Made a list of my physical PS5 horror games that I have not played yet. Anyone recommend anything off the list to play? I started Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel already so any other suggestions would be welcome.
neutral · AI labelView post →This is a great game for if you're looking for a resident evil type experience HOWEVER it is extremely janky and some of the puzzles (especially towards the end) genuinely suck. Still a pretty good game for what its worth, especially considering that it's on a pretty deep sale of 5 bucks at the moment.

neutral · AI labelView post →To many puzzles not enough horror. I dont mind some puzzles in horror games but these ones sucked. hard to find anything. you have to scan the entire room close up to see if its an item you can pick up. making it more annoying then fun. makes the game extremely tedious. tried it for an hour said screw it and im moving on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m not sure why this game is rated so positively. It does have good art design. Great monsters, spooky settings but it was not fun to play. Movement is so slow, guns are awful and the enemy ai is incredibly weak. The game doesn’t have any spooky moments after the first monster encounter. Overall I felt letdown. Just get a Resident Evil game instead.

neutral · AI labelView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! What a total disappointment this game is. Total lack of ammo. I restarted this game at about 15% of gameplay. I selected aim assistance and ammo assistance, but still i only received 1-2 pistol rounds when i found some. Then they give you one to two shotgun shells. The first spider boss fight takes about 30 shotgun shells, and 25 pistol rds. I could not proceed without downloading a infinite ammo cheat with rapid fire shotgun. The voice acting is pathetic. if you own or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With "Fobia" you get a great game with a nice story! The graphics are nice, the puzzles challenging enough to not be boring - only one needs to be VERY thorough in looking for weapons to not make the game too difficult for oneself. Just saw it is on sale at the moment - my recommendation: get it, if you like spooky games with fighting in it and do NOT give up if the solution to a puzzle takes a little bit longer. Perfect game for spooky time for gamers who also want a story in their gameplay!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only very slightly recommend this game partially because of what it tries to accomplish as a survival horror game. The puzzles are great and sometimes require cerebral thinking, there are also a lot of them particularly the optional ones. I also love how it immerses you to its setting, the lack of map really makes you invested in exploring every nook and cranny of the hotel. However, there are also many cons that severely downgrade your experience with the game. The very first one being…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. I very often struggle with linear single player games these days because they either fall short or try to do too much and I lose interest. However, Fobia does an incredible job, in my opinion, of meeting many criteria I look for in a game. Freedom of exploration while still guiding you a little so you're not completely lost; hidden/challenging extras to find; and even upgrades. All while scaring the poop out of me :) Highly recommend.

neutral · AI labelView post →At some point this game started to feel as a drag to play. The dynamic changed for worse: too much running around doing strange stuff, often pixel-hunting. In addition, some paths get blocked and you have to run even more. I liked most of the puzzles I encountered, many of them require you to find a key item beforehand. Where the key item is placed sometimes is poorly telegraphed, wasting your time just to find it. AI. If you don't try to experiment in enemy/boss encounters, you'll probably not…

(booking tips - ask for a knife) Key features Very similar to Resident Evil series, Great puzzles, Read this, check that, memorize one more thing... St. Dinfna Hotel has a lot, a lot of puzzles. It's the safe codes, hidden in notes. It's invisible hints, revealed only via camera. It's a special key, which you assemble gradually and then backtrack to unlock multiple boxes. And more! Solving the above is rewarding, as you get upgrade points, rare ammo and in other cases pressing…

neutral · AI labelView post →Probably one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life Terrible game design at every turn, terrible story, terrible VA, terrible horror elements. Just trash through and through Maybe the developers should focus on creating something cool instead of just blindly ripping off RE7 without understanding anything about what made that game work and hoping that it makes a quick buck But its "very positive" so I guess enough morons were fooled for a payday Avoid like the plague

neutral · AI labelView post →The overall experience coming out of this game is that its a competent experience that doesn't really try anything new. It wears its inspiration on its sleeve and it shows, that in and of itself is not a detriment but its what it does with it that I feel takes it down a few pegs and makes the game a bit more repetitive and predictable in its mechanics. There is alot of backtracking in this game where it adds nothing new to experience and just feels like a way to drag out the run time. There…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first, I loved everything about it, but when the combat was introduced I just couldn't stomach it. First enemy fell with two bullets, while the second one took seven and was still going, all of this while aiming for the weak spot. If bosses are as tanky as other people claim I couldn't find it in me to continue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has potential to be a cool outlast/resident evil mix but the amount of long boring ass puzzles really ruins the gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a well done RE7 clone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had already played it on console at launch, so now on PC I wanted to complete 100% of the achievements. I liked the game right away; it has a Resident Evil vibe in its mechanics. But, despite being a very good and complete game, it's not perfect... not even close, actually. You start the game with a lot of information all at once and, as you progress through the story, you understand more about the universe and what's happening. You also expand your inventory and improve your weapons…
