This isn't a bad game, it's just not a game for me, or adults. I would call this a narrative/walking sim with some extremely simple puzzle elements, rather than a puzzle game. Easily more than half of the time you are playing is dedicated to painfully slow, simple conversations designed to be understood by a 5 year old (or younger). An example of the conversations in this game go something like this. "Hi …

Got the "happy ending" achievement on my first run-through. I liked the game; the setting is interesting, and the characters are likeable. Some of the decision-making sequences are a bit confusing because there is no back button, but at least most paths have a bailout option at the end. You can also just quit the game and continue from the autosave. The puzzles are very easy. For someone not accustomed to logic …

In a nutshell, it's a Japanese civil servant simulator. My initial expectation was this would have been a game where you must overthrow a dystopian society masquerading as a utopia. I was pleasantly surprised when this was not the case. The game is very sweet and some moments are absolutely heart-wrenching. Every chapter presents a unique conflict that challenges the protagonist's (your) humanity. The puzzle element …

The nonchalant vibes of this game's far-flung future are both cozy and melancholic. Sometimes, the story pulls back the curtain on the dystopia, but as things progress, utopia and dystopia become ambiguous concepts. It makes you think without overthinking. Dialogue is very concise, exploring plausible sci-fi issues, yet not getting bogged down by overexplaining. I highly recommend talking to every NPC to fully …

The puzzles feel similar to The Witness, except there aren't nearly as many, some of them don't *quite* make sense (later on) and you're forced to talk to a lot of boring people, slowly, all of whom are totally obsessed with themselves. It's probably part of the narrative, but so far it's been so heavy-handed that I expect there's a "twist" that absolutely everyone will see coming. I'll finish it out, but unless it changes massively before the end, I think it's going to be one of those games…

Disappointing. This game heavily relies on it's narrative and characters, and fails at using either to actually rope me in. I thought this would have been a more cutting story, one with difficult choices and compelling antagonists. This is not that. This is a walking simulator with a very vanilla and un-original take on the concept of the "Utopia". Gameplay is boring and repetitive. You wake up, do a series of 'puzzles', fix issues with utopia, get railroaded through easy black-and-white…

Captivating, Absolutely Japanese, and Fun. But Far From Perfect. I really enjoyed this game quite a bit. It also frustrated me just as much, so I was torn on rating it. I still think it's worth a play if you would enjoy mild philosophical ponderings of civilization and its morality. D-topia really carries you along a for a glimpse into one futuristic possibility of the human race's existence. Albeit the daily progress is rather down-to-earth, the game throws quite a powerful curveball later in…

A good & accessible game for children. Narrative for all ages. ATLUS's Persona minus the RPG elements. Gameplay is a life/social sim (mostly walking around and talking to others) + puzzle, similar to how Persona is life/social sim + RPG. Puzzles are almost non-essential for narrative progression and the harder ones are optional. The "end-of-chapter" reviews consists of questions with very obvious correct answers that honestly feels more like a literacy test to check if you've been paying…

The puzzles were nice, but the world/plot/characters all felt like a big missed opportunity! It could have been something heavy hitting. There was a lot of potential, it seemed. There were hints that this utopic dream was meeting an inevitable collapse, that there would be some drama and difficult decisions down the track, but instead the game always gives you a peaceful option and then suddenly ends

A cute, enjoyable, and extremely Japanese game that provides an intriguing idea of humanity's far future: far from perfect, but with an undeniably optimistic tone. The gameplay itself is pretty simple: there are several types of puzzles (some of the optional ones can be quite challenging, though most are fairly easy), there is a roamable overworld (including the 'block side' mechanic which I found very fun), and there is dialogue and affinity with a dozen or so 'main friends', including…

Not amused - it quickly becomes a walking simulator, where you have to talk to a lot of NPC's, and you feel like your going nowhere. The puzzles while fun in the beginning became a drag for me fast. So much in fact that I doubt I'll ever finish the game. Shame since I really liked the idea itself as well as the artstyle. If you must own this game, wait for a sale.

D-Topia is a nice little puzzle game, slow paced in a world centuries after today where humans live in some probably space stations controled by AI. When I saw this, I must say I expected a much bigger scope on what would be the story with this lore and what we see (D-topia : dystopia, AI control, we see quite early that people basically have implants that "trick" their senses to see, smell and feel things that doesn't exist in reality so that they are happy) which would be a huge ground for…

If you like story games and puzzle games, this is a game you may enjoy, for twice the price it should be. With being able to play the full game in less than 10 hours it makes me wonder how you can justify costing 20 dollars, and the puzzle aspect is uninspired at best with very little growth as you go through the game, new mechanics being shown... barely, you're better off going for the "sit on every bench" achievement honestly

I don't usually make negative reviews, but I felt I needed with this one. I wanted to like this game, but it has a good premise with really bad implementation. They have so many possibilities, but make a story with the depth of a puddle. The puzzles are easy and, ok, they don't have to be sooo complex, but they just feel...disconnected? And somethings really didn't have to be there for how simple it is. Like this brain meeting which looks like you're teaching logic to a 10 year old. And the…

Really cute game. Great aesthetic, fun puzzles, and neat character designs. You can tell a lot of love was poured into it. My only complaint: the end of the game is hard to navigate. There is no clear indication to the user when an event will be a point of no return, which really sucks when you are trying to 100% relationships. Also, it would be nice to have multiple saves.

A story-focused sci-fi adventure game about a utopia/dystopia. Very nice visuals, some cool ideas, the story and characters are interesting, although can be silly at times (the whole lore around clones was a huge challenge for my suspension of disbelief - and I'm a JRPG fan, mind, there aren't many people more deluded than us). There are puzzles, yes, most of which can be skipped, but the majority of gameplay is walking around and talking to people. Fun and well-made but lacks "something" that…

This is the type of cozy game I really enjoy. The puzzles are fun and satisfying to complete without ever being frustrated. But the real reason to keep playing is the characters you get to meet. I wasn’t expecting to get so many choices and possible branching paths in this game as well. The game is very philosophical, and I appreciate that the setting is leaning on the optimistic side of achieving a utopia for humanity, while still posing questions of what a utopia really means. Gameplay is simple, some puzzles are thinkers but not impossible to solve by yourself. It is a lot more slice-of-life than I originally thought, but between beautiful imagery, moral dilemmas and intriguing characters with evolving personalities, I felt myself roped in to this universe and played it exclusively (which is very rare for me) I loved finding the mice and solving their puzzles, and the balance between the types of puzzles kept it fresh.
