What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 181 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (5,789 of 6,881 positive).
The story and dialogue are widely criticized as atrocious, cringey, or forgettable. [1][2][3][4] Some reviewers note the game is best enjoyed on sale or as a budget alternative. [5][6][7][8]

Looks like it should be incredible, giant mechs and anime styled fights like a possible variant of armored core but once you start playing, the excitement fades fast. The combat feels floaty, the missions blur together and the story sounds like it was written by an ai that just discovered what cool means. There’s no real sense of impact or progression, just endless noise and flashy explosions masking how shallow it …

You play the game for 3 minutes then suffer though 10 to 15 minutes of terrible dialogue. Bosses go immune just so they can yapp for an extra 2 minutes. The dialogue itself is atrocious and everything is either vague or about characters I care nothing about, because there's like 40 of them and none of them get fleshed out over the course of the game. Spare yourself the suffering and just get an Armored Core game.

It’s basically diet Armored Core with anime aesthetic. It's basically a watered down Armored Core game with a totally forgettable story. Not a bad game by any means though. DxM is by far not a bad game, but the story is atrocious with WAY too many forgettable characters and dialogue that's cringey even for anime fans. The gameplay itself feels like if AC4 had a baby with God Eater and Monster Hunter and queefed out …

I was searching for a diet Armored Core 6 and Mechabreak for my potato, and recommendations led me to this game. And this game is AMAZING. It really scratches the mecha itch without demanding too much from my microwave. Dialogue is on God Eater level (if you know what I mean), but I'm here mainly to fly and shoot down other robots and I get what I'm looking for. Customization is less crazy compared to MASS Builder …

pretty peak, but the gameplay can get dry and the customization is limited. if you want a high quality mech game, go play armored core 6. but for the poor man? this game is pretty great. 7/10 would recommend. PS. its on sale on CDkeys for $1.99

positive · AI labelView post →Banger OST time! This is one of the mission themes in Daemon X Machina! This track is tough 😤 the guitars and drums steal the show on this track, their energy levels are through the roof! The synths do a fantastic job of backing this sound up as well, it's a bumping track from an awesome game!
positive · AI labelView post →Banger OST time! This is the theme for the mercenary group West VII in Daemon X Machina! All of the mercenary group themes in this game slap 😤 the main instruments present are the guitars and drums, both of which are unrelenting and tear it up! The lowkey vocals that are mixed in are a nice touch!

Piloting a mech in the game was a blast, air and ground combat was a ton of fun and felt intense! The Colossal Immortal battles were also so crazy, I loved em 🥹 it was a fantastic game!

neutral · AI labelView post →Surprised people are complaining about what games they showed at the direct. New Mario Kart, Exclusive FromSoft game, Kirby Air Riders, Daemon x Machina, new Zelda, open-world Donkey Kong game is a very strong lineup for a new console. Console launch periods almost always suck.

positive · AI labelView post →Daemon x Machina : Titanic Scion is gonna be so slept on I feel like. I've really been enjoying the demo. It feels like a really super ambitious AA game, something that I feel isn't as common anymore and I love it for that. It's got like the DNA of multiple things in it but it somehow works lol.
positive · AI labelView post →I just beat the main campaign for Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion And bruh. This game is now among my top 10 favorite games of all time. This game has SOUL.

neutral · AI labelView post →This track is called "Panzer Crown"! Daemon X Machina is still one of the coolest games I've played this year 😤 tbh it's pretty underrated! The game makes piloting a mech feel so cool, and the battles are so thrilling! Still need to get to the sequel tho 😅 it's on my shortlist of games to play!
positive · AI labelView post →Hey folks, as someone who love Armored Core and worked on Armored Core 2, I super strongly recommend Daemon X Machina, my favorite Coreslike game! Kenichiro Tsukuda, long-time former producer of the AC series (yes, he produced AC2) worked on it as did other former AC devs. It's super great!

positive · AI labelView post →the demo for the new Daemon X Machina game is much more extensive than i would've expected and while the game itself certain needs a little fine tuning i am, BAFFLED by how much fun i've been having with it. And im gonna say it. Its kinda like Anthem

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm so torn of if I actually like this game or not. It's like a 6/10 at best and the writing for all but like 2 characters is abysmal. The gameplay has ideas that are just not thought through at all and it confuses itself alot. Femto is a resource you can spend doing 1 of 3 power modes, all with upsides and downsides. However, I never used anything but the speed one for occasional traversal because that same resource is used for a shadow clone that fights independently and takes aggro for…

neutral · AI labelView post →Even by Anime standards the writing, dialogue and characters are atrociously bad. The graphical presentation is kinda nice, but the gameplay is really simplistic and gets stale very fast early on. I honestly don't understand how this even has positive reviews.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →give it a chance on a discounted moment. The game is entertaining but don't expect any real challenge, balancing of guns and awesome story.... I am half way thru and that's the summary o_o
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion is coming to Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this September!

neutral · AI labelView post →Monthly Art Challenge: June Video game: Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion I recently got this game when it was on sale for 80% off, I had alot of fun with this game! one major difference from the previous game is that the arsenals are now exo-suits instead of mechs, but the gameplay is still awesome!
positive · AI labelView post →Daemon X Machina Is a solid C- The Why? The Good: The gameplay is clean, with a lot of customizable options for your mecha, weapons, and designs; very much true to its genre, and if you're a fan, you're going to like this part of the game. The acting is good. If you like anime, there's a ton of talented actors and some famous voices. The Bad: The story; what I found confusing throughout the game was how it seemed like you're just a passenger. It's a jumble of lines just strung together.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The worlds most shallow mech game I have played. Extremely dry game feel, hold 2 buttons to win gameplay loop and unsatisfying feedback. The story is also incredibly cringey, and the characters never stop talking.

neutral · AI labelView post →Honestly I don't really have an issue with the writing as in there's far far worse, but it's not good either. I basically got this because it scratches that looter shooter itch without as much time commitment as AC6. AC6 is probably better but it's also harder by a mile and sometimes I just want to shoot stuff without needing to sweat yk?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This kind of stuff was what turned me off the Armored Core "Spiritual Successor" game Daemon X Machina. So many fights involved scripted foes where it wasn't obvious they were scripted as undefeatable until I'd burned out half my ammunition.
negative · AI labelView post →Story and dialogue is just horrifically bad. Passable shooter if you like mechs and skip everything they say.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As other players have said, the character don't shut up, the gameplay loop is tiresome and the voice-acting and story are drier than a bucket of sand left out in the height of summer. I really tried to like this game with the time I put into it, good thing I bought it on sale.
