I wanna like it, but the mandatory internet is required to launch the game every time is a huge deal breaker. Yes, EVERY TIME. Sure, you can launch the game then turn off wifi but good luck doing that when you're outdoors with no internet or in the middle of a car ride. This is not a "just launch it once every few days and you're good."

I'll cut to the chase, if you're looking for some mindless Musou-style mashing fun with Fate characters and are wondering if you should get Fate/EXTELLA first, don't bother and just get this. While EXTELLA Link is something of a direct sequel the plots of the games are almost entirely standalone and do not factor into one another. In truth, EXTELLA Link is pretty light on narrative in general. This one improves upon …

Fate/EXTELLA LINK is the sequel to Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star. Mechanically, it improves on its predecessor in nearly every way — except the story. Graphically, it looks great. The soundtrack is strong and the voice acting is good. The musou-style gameplay feels far more refined from the previous game. More variability in attacks, mystic codes (items), and enemies make it a more enjoyable gameplay loop. However, …

Very fun horde hack-and-slash. Astolfo is in the game. You can juggle enemies in the air and keep them in the air for a considerable time like DMC. You can play as Astolfo. The story is honestly not super great, but it has its moments. You can equip a bikini on Astolfo. I haven't played as many of the characters, but the ones that I have played feel smooth. You can play as Astolfo. You can also commit vehicular …

FATE/ EXTELLA LINK is a sequel to the first FATE EXTELLA game. While as a Sequel it is a Great game, a huge improvements. However there's a tons of issues here and there and Im gonna show you why. PROS : -More Characters to play as, a lot of new characters which you probably know from Fate Grand Order. They are all unique, play differently, each had their own special moves and builds. All you can unlock by simply …

Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received a Metacritic score of 75. Writing for IGN Spain, Elias Sampayo awarded the game 8 out of 10. He praised its expanded roster, visual improvements, story, and overall amount of content, describing it as a significant evolution of its predecessor. However, he argued that the game was aimed primarily at existing fans of the franchise and noted that its combination of visual-novel storytelling and musou gameplay would not appeal to all players. Writing for Kotaku, Mike Fahey praised the game's reinterpretation of historical figures and described its combat as enjoyable "hack and slash popcorn". He highlighted the large cast of Servants, battlefield action, and character…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me, the main positive about this game are the more detailed character models compared to Fate/EXTELLA. I find the rest of the game somewhat mediocre. The story is far shorter than that of Fate/EXTELLA and feels more superficial with less emphasis on individual characters. However, my biggest complaint with this game by far is the always-online DRM, on top of Steam's DRM. This game refuses to launch if Steam is in offline mode and/or there is no active internet connection. I got both games…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally I think this is the best Musou-style game to ever exist. There's so much more combat variety and quality-of-life features compared to most other Warriors spinoffs and games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fate/Extella Link is basically nonstop anime chaos in the best way. You jump into huge battlefields, mow down hordes of enemies, and swap between flashy Servants who all have their own over-the-top moves. The story is light but fun, especially if you’re already into the Fate universe, and the combat is super easy to pick up. It’s not the deepest game ever, but if you want fast, stylish action and a cast full of fan-favorites, it’s a really good time.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a mindless 1vs100 beat-em-up game with simple mechanics, enough for you to have fun after a long day. Pros + Lots of characters to choose from, even the last boss. + Simple 1vs100 beat-em-up game. + You can be incredibly overpowered and clear missions easily, even on the Very Hard difficulty. + No Multiplayer Achievements even though this game supports multiplayer. + There’s an achievement that requires you to unlock all Install Skills, an equipable orb that grants you stat bonuses. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pick it if you liked SenRan Kagura gameplay or if you like Musou in general Despite being thecnically short and repetitive, it's a fantastical game that add tactical territory management to the standard Musou formula making it frenetic even without time limits or timers putting pressure on you. Speaking of time Missions can last from 10 to 15 minutes, making the game perfect if you have little time in your life. The multiplayer side could be a nice eSport however it suffer of the same…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I believe that another fate game like this would be better than Fate/Grand Order. Most of my favorite characters are there and the fighting is pretty nice, the story is short but nice and simple.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astolfo makes me question my sexuality.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hack and slash. And Astolfo (seriously, he is so fun to use).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jiggle physics! We were robbed! Imagine what would've been this game with the level of jiggle physics we had in the first Extella. Other than that, great game! Huge improvement from the first one, except for the lore...and jiggle physics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't leave reviews at all, but I want to be absolutely genuine now: this is my favourite Fate game ever. I played this for the first time time ago and it introduced me to the series. Did I understand something? Absolutely not. Was it utterly fun? Absolutely yes. Even after entering into the deep universe of Fate Stay/Night and playing that steaming money eater pile of garbage that is Fate Grand Order, the Extra verse still is my favourite of all time. For me all games from this universe like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite some minor story problems (that includes the Umbral Star story continuity) it is what you would expect from the next installment of this Musou type game of the Fate Extella series, the developers improved every aspect from the Umbral Star (previous game) gameplay wise and you can see it in the combat. They also included many quality of life changes with how you can level up and get gear/money/skills etc.. way easier! A very good game to pass some of your free time especially if you are a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Warriors formula near perfected. If you are a FATE fan and want an excellent action game to play while you listen to podcasts or watch vids, this is definitely the one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tbh i bought it for astolfo, but i'm having fun :) probably not going to 100% as it looks quite grindy, but the game itself isn't hard (even on Very Hard)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my top 4 characters in gaming 💙🎮 Saber also counts as a video game character, Fate/Stay Night was originally a VN but the screenshot's from Fate/Extella LINK, aka my favorite Fate game I'm also gonna mention 2B, Kay Vess and Lara Croft bc they're also cool (I also miss Aloy ngl, need to play HFW)
positive · AI labelView post →don't mind me, I'm just missing the 🥥🐐 but fully aware of how evil the gacha system/Genshin's monetization is... if only Genshin had a non-gacha game like Fate/Extella Link, then I'd be able to see how strong Ganyu really is, that girl can (and did) take on entire armies IN A FIGHT, YOU SICK FUCKS

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ll be honest here. The only reason why I bought this game in the first place is because of Astolfo and the memes. But besides from that, it’s actually quite decent. Definitely should get it when it’s on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm more sad because the story length is short more than the story itself, umu.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so during the power outage I had today (it's back on now), I wanted to play Fate/Extella Link on my Steam Deck, and I learned that the Steam version of the game is ONLINE ONLY for SOME REASON AND GET THIS: I also have it on the Switch... IT WORKS FINE OFFLINE TYPE MOON, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
negative · AI labelView post →We won't get an Extra record any time soon (never), and Samurai Remnant is too pricey. Fate/EXTELLA LINK is a good option to have some fun in Fate Universe, by actually playing as a Servant. A lot of improvements for gameplay since OG Extella, the only letdown is the story, yet you can enjoy it. Solid 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saber was in fact a video game character first, before being in many different anime series, and then MORE video games, including Fate/Extella Link as seen in my screenshot below (she's stupidly OP as she should be lmao) did you *really* expect me to choose anyone else tho?
neutral · AI labelView post →It fun to play but it too easy to clear the game. (Except achievement.) Right now some PC have bug when in game the screen will shake when your servant walk for some reason. It little annoying but still playable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a yes but also a no in some ways. This game is an improvement upon Umbral Star in many ways, mainly its combat. However in turn it sacrifices many of the best parts of Umbral star as well, mainly the story. So while this game is far easier to play and replay, you will likely end up skipping most of the story as it is pretty bland.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astolfo got me questioning
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an okay Warrior game, very flashy combat but also very floaty, maybe the floatiest combat within this genre. Whoever says this is an improved Warrrior formula must not played any Musou game within 15 years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a blast! The special attacks system is definitely the highlight for me—it really spices up the combat. I’d love to see Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors take a page from this and add something similar in their next games. It makes everything feel more intense and satisfying. That being said, the game is a little short. Once I hit level 150 and maxed out all the bonds, there wasn’t much left to do. I had a solid 36 hours of fun, but after that, the game didn’t really give me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Repetitive gameplay and the dialogue is kinda boring but still fun with various playable characters and awesome special moves.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the only downside is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drm meaning you cannot play this offline at all. which is annoying asf. the games fun asf regardless and it looks good. some would even say FGO Arcade at home. 🙂↕️ (cap your fps to 200 or whatever your monitors refresh rate displays at so the game wont spaz out) FGOArcade is on pc now lmfao!!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could give a mixed review for this but I cant with the options I have I still 110% recommend it but man its crazy what this game COULD BE. this game is potential to the max I really do hope they make another multiplayer fate but instead of locking it to extra and friends. just have servants from all the different series even from a money point if they decided hey lets make the new characters pay to play or lets add 5 billion skins either way its money and we can finally move on from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Both Extella's titles are great, but each one has one dominant side - while first game is more story focused with not so polished and great gameplay, the second title absolutely rocks with gameplay, which they improved a lot. Sadly, the story in the second game wasn't having much impact like the very first one. The main sellout are improved servants from previous game + 10 additional, with better effects and it feels like you are really dealing an heavy damage. It feels very refreshing to see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sequel from umbral star... The gameplay is step up form prequel. Love the graphic and lot of new playable character. Recommend to play it AFTER!!! you play the prequel so you can get the gift and also to understand lore 🐢👍. Highly recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →honestly game is very bad in most aspect compared to the umbral star -Story are very short like ur D -Very Repeatitive Musou game, i know most Musou game are repeatitive, but this game is on another level, yes it about based on novel story when you need to choose some dialog then make different outcome, but not for this game, that different outcome only change a lilbit , the battle stage are mostly same, just different yappers ,boring ----Artoria and some character have BAD face design , ofc…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →is this a bad game? depends on you. it gets a no simply because, for me, it was frustrating....why? I didnt remember owning this game. saw I had played it for 100 minutes, but only completed day 1. wondered why. installed it. and realized this is one of THOSE "games".. a visual novel that occasionally gets interrupted by a GAME! I am not surprised I only beat level 1 in almost 2 hours because theres like 90 min of cutscenes for every 20 mins of gameplay. I absolutely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fate/EXTELLA LINK feels like a fast, arcade-style action game built around mowing through huge crowds with flashy Noble Phantasms and over-the-top combos. If you like the Fate universe and want something that focuses more on pure action than long cutscenes, this entry is easier to enjoy moment-to-moment than the previous game. The combat is the main reason to play. You pick a Servant, dash into a zone, and start chaining attacks while juggling mobs and tougher officers at the same time. It has…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PEAKKKKK!!!!!!(btw i love astolfo rahhhhhhhh)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected a Fate Musou. I got a Fate Musou. I'm happy. Honestly, the only complaints are the expected ones for a licensed musou, namely "Hey, why's my fave not in here." so I won't hold that against them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a musou game with Fate/Extra paint slapped on. If you know what a musou game is like, you already know what to expect. The game is very repetitive, braindead, and consist of spamming the same moves over and over. Even spamming the dodge to move from Sector to Sector is faster than normal means. The biggest issues with the game is the lock-on and camera issues. The lock-on will unlock-on when you knock your target away, most of the times your enemies will be off-screen, and you're just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →need more dlc servants waiting for fgo arcade to release to steam
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is even better than the first game. The dialogue cutscenes are shorter compared to Extella's really-lengthy cutscenes. Graphics are OK, (I'm more on gameplay over graphics) music is kinda better than the first game. The voice acting is as excellent as ever. (Of course, is there such thing as bad Japanese voice acting?) Controls are a bit tricky (I use keyboard) but fully customizable. Once you got the hang of it you'll do just fine. My only complain is that why does this game have to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have finished every story stage in Fate/EXTELLA LINK and my final thoughts are this is a really fun musou for a non-KT game but this is one of the most Nothing stories ever why is there a flowchart with three endings this game has like 2 entire plot points and every cutscene feels the same
