Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 188 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (752 of 1,402 positive).
Players find DARK a janky but fun stealth game with a mediocre story and comic-book art style. [1][2][3] Some reviewers praise the stealth mechanics and vampire abilities, while others criticize clunky controls and poor design. [4][5][6] Several players recommend it only on sale, noting it is short and rough around the edges. [5][7][8]

Dark is an action stealth game. You play as Eric Bane, a newly converted vampire with amnesia who must drink the blood of the vampire who converted him or the blood of an elder vampire, lest he become a ravenous beast. To this end, he moves through his city, killing enemies and trying to find blood, all to prevent his inevitable demise. I’ll be blunt. This is a dumb game. It has some of the worst writing and voice …

It genuinely pisses me off, so many design flaws it's not even fun to play. First chapter starts with a super easy tutorial-like area and then every other area past that is just crammed with guards where stealth is not fun(you gotta wait for minutes at times just to see the pattern/dispatch of them). The most basic skills(stealth attack, etc.) are locked behind skill points/level ups, so you start handicapped …

Not bad at all, it reminded me a little of Dishonored's franchise because is stealth and one of the powers/abilities called shadow leap among others that you have. You play as Eric Bane a newly turned vampire, you have plenty of abilities, during the gameplay you get points so you can spend them buying new abilities/power or upgrading them. Dark 8/10 Heisen.

DARK is a Vampire based stealth game released in 2013 that aspires to be like a lot of the other great stealth games out there, but doesn’t met those ambitions. The game itself is average, but seems to be bug free and actually has a working stealth system, even if its basic (I’ve seen AAA game make stealth sections worse than how its portrayed in this game). Even on hard it’s not difficult, but if you want a …

I read lots of harsh, negative DARK reviews, even "professional" ones from places like Game Informer where they call this game one of the worst titles of the generation. I'm nearing the conclusion that I'm living in a different universe because I don't understand why this game gets so much flak. For me DARK was good in almost every aspect - the level design was awesome, the game mechanics were good (sometimes …

Players who liked DARK talk about stealth and vampire abilities are entertaining; those who didn't talk about story and voice acting are mediocre or poor. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Dark received "generally unfavorable" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. Much of the game's criticism was aimed at the poor melee combat, camera, script, and lack of interest in the game's protagonist. In a mixed review, Jon Blythe of Official Xbox Magazine UK stated: "DARK is frustrating, because that initial feeling of being a zippy blur of a vampire in a world of neon-lit night never leaves you. It's just swamped in frustrating design decisions, a script that lurches from passable to laughable, weak enemy AI, and a vortex of a lead character who's impossible to like or hate." Dan Whitehead of Eurogamer stated that "low-budget games can be delightful…
