Degrees of Separation is one of those games that makes you go, “Oh, that’s clever,” about ten minutes in. And then it keeps doing that. Sometimes it impresses you. Sometimes it trips over its own feet. But overall it’s a pretty fun ride, especially if you’re sharing the couch with someone. The screen is literally split in two. Beautiful artwork, music, and story. However, solo players beware: There is a part at the very end of the game (Door 6) that is super, super frustrating (and likely impossible) when playing this solo. The mechanics are designed to where one player must slowly walk a cart across a stretch of land, while the other person has to walk in time with them. Great concept and a strong first hour, but the puzzles get repetitive and don’t really evolve. The slow pacing, lack of variety, and clunky controls make it boring pretty fast. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have finished it if I wasn’t playing co-op.

Game introduces new mechanics throughout but they get repetitive in every world. The characters feel quite clunky to control but the worst is the narrator that just won't stop talking and pushing their own narrative into the characters. Game would be twice better without her voice. Also world 5 is balls.

Loved the game, every level has its own mechanics, and while some are more interesting than others, they all help fill the story and tell the feelings of the characters towards each other. Overall the game has very interesting puzzles but simple mechanics, and tells a beautiful love story with both the bad and good of their own relationship. Played with my girlfriend and had an amazing time. Would rate an 9/10, especially if it is on sale.

I'm a bit divided by this game. I will finish it because I'm a bit perfectionistic with getting all the achievements in my games, but If I didn't care about achievements, I'd probably quit too. The idea is great, especially the cold and warm idea that they implemented. it adds a different component than other puzzles games don't have, The game itself is easy to understand (though some puzzles can be hard.). But the controls are at times annoying, and I'm not following the story at all. You…

I got this game to play with my girlfriend. After wasting 10-15 mins trying to connect to each other's game, we finally made it. We played only until the characters met each other and we quickly found out that the game is broken. My screen was black. Half of the lighting was either missing or black. Same with the textures, resulting in me not being able to see ♥♥♥♥. There was a rope in front of me and I just couldn't see it. We tried restarting it but we could not connect....AGAIN. Refunded.

When I finally managed to connect, everything was normal on my side, but on my boyfriend's side everything was dark. No shapes, no colours, nothing. A really interesting puzzle game with clever mechanics that keep introducing new elements throughout. Aside from minor gripes, (such as not being sure where to go in the hub world, one or two instances of solo controls being very clunky for the puzzle needed, and some cases of being unsure if the object is scenery or has collision), the game is great. I had fun getting all the puzzles and only had to look up the solution twice - in the first case I already knew what I needed to do but I…

DoS is a co-op puzzle platformer that has 5-6 big levels, each level has one exclusive gimmick to solve the puzzles differently. The point of the puzzles is to collect enough scarfs to open a gate to the next level. The castle is the hub area where all the levels can be found. There is a story and the narrator has a beautiful voice but we honestly didn’t care about the fairytale like story, we didn’t pay attention to what was being said. The draw of the game was the gameplay and the gorgeous…

Cute little puzzle game! I would highly recommend with close friends or partners. Just a tip, do not feel ther need to try and avoid looking some of them up if necessary, some are in dumb spot or require ridiculous ways to pick them up, and it will cause a lot less stress and tension if you just look some of them up lol. The music is gorgeous and soothing, and the ambiance and art of the game are lovely. Excellent little indie game for the price, worth it, even more so when on sale.

It is a really slow paced game, even the characters movements are very slow. It was a little fun at first...then it got frustrating. I really enjoyed the twists each level gave on the already great core mechanic. A puzzle game best played with two, but often playable solo. Light platforming that is often fine, except when it gets in the way. Puzzles that are often clever, but not usually unsolvably so. Different regions with special powers that seem out of order for their difficulty. Quite nice that you can skip a puzzle here or there, until at the end section they're all mandatory. Oddly, you don't have to beat the game to get all the achievements.

We started playing with high expectations but floaty movement and repetitive locations annoyed us enough to give up. The interactive objects/platforms blend in with the background so its hard to spot them sometimes, the puzzles felt like we solved them by accident and not by thinking, we weren't sure if we got it right or bugged the game. The lack of map was pretty annoying especially with the confusing layout of the levels. Also the constant narration was sounded unpleasant like a weak fanfic.

Unfortunately, in the current state it is unplayable for me and my LDR partner. In the first level, there's a section with two ropes that lowers a log platform. My LDR partner uses a Switch Lite and I don't know whether it's due to the netcoding on the Switch or the ping, but on my partner's side the ropes glitch out, making it impossible to progress. Very pretty local co-op puzzler/platformer, which reminds me a bit of the Trine games. The puzzles are smart and use very novel mechanics, such as using the screen separation as a platform for example. Enjoyed this game with my wife, it was a cute and fun little adventure. Took us a little over 8 hrs to complete and chase down the the last few achievements. Very fun to blow up and launch your partner.
