Some players find it a decent bite-sized Deus Ex experience if bought cheap. [1][2][3] Many criticize it as an unfinished mobile port with a cliffhanger ending. [4][5][6] A few appreciate it as a preserved artifact of early mobile gaming. [7][8][9]

Wow, I was not expecting this game to be good based on the reviews I saw, but it actually blew me away. The story and setting are so good and tie in with Human Revolution very well, so you'll understand the premise easily if you've played the previous game. The graphics are top notch considering it's an 11 year old phone game, and the controls are not that bad either. I saw only one bug throughout my whole …

The reviews lied to me. This is a solid bite-sized entry in the series. Based on its reception, you'd think this game was a complete disaster, and yet it plays like Human Revolution, just with less verticality (no jump button) and no physics. So you can't throw environmental objects to create a distraction, and you can't move unconscious/dead bodies; they just vaporize after a few seconds instead. This makes for a …

You will not survive this fall. Short, on point, lacking, story not finished product that call it selft Deus ex. If this game had the ending I would gladly gave a positive review because its nice prologue material for Human Revolution. Sadly it will leave you hanging on with no conclusion. This is more like devolution.

Overall, this game really isn't as horrible as people say... I think the story is interesting, the characters are decent, and the aesthetics are classic. If you love Deus Ex Human Revolution, and the aesthetics for that game, then I'd say to give this a shot. It's like a free sample they give you at the food court in a mall (however, in this case it's not free). And the current listing price for this game on Steam …

A port of a mobile game that's heavily derivative of Human Revolution, using a lot of its same mechanics. Unfortunately due to mobile platform limitations it had to be heavily simplified (smaller locations, no box stacking or jumping, a lot jankier controls including way too high aiming sensitivity), also random glitches like clipping through the floor when trying to take cover. The game is also unfinished in terms …

The crowd is split on Deus Ex: The Fall: 86 recommend it, 95 don't. Which camp are you in?

Critics, per Wikipedia

The Fall garnered a "mixed or average" reception according to review aggregator site Metacritic, which gave it a score of 69 out of 100 points based on 43 reviews. TouchArcade acknowledged criticism that the game was published on iOS rather than PC or console, but described it as a high-quality and engaging experience: "it reeks of 'console quality' in terms of story, production values and visuals, and it's just straight-up fun to play." Eurogamer's Christian Donlan gave the game a low score, citing game-crashing bugs, awkward combat and controls, repetitive graphics and shaky story and voice acting, but still praised the touchscreen functionality and general atmosphere. He concluded that…

More serious journalists need to play video games so they can connect the dots between Elon Musk’s obsession with Deus Ex (he keeps a fake gun from the game by his bed), and his obsession with a malevolent AI killing everyone if he doesn’t make it first to placate it.

DK Bananza is a superb videogame, damn. Proves my thesis that the Mario team is the true carrier of the Deus Ex torch. The scale, verticality, the THREE DIMENSIONALITY of this game is so far beyond everyone else. I have no idea how their toolkit looks, how they MAKE these things???

Thinking about it, the original Deus Ex may be the king of choice in a game with a story, because your choices are significant, linked to gameplay and unforced. From the very start, for instance, whether you use or avoid lethal force against the “terrorists” determines something about you.

Not as bad as its reputation if you take it on its own terms as a mobile game ported to PC back when devs thought that developing console-like games for android was a viable option. Real issue is it's just the first part of something that was never completed. Worth picking up for cheap at the very least as a relic of its time and it being an extant Deus Ex game for now, we never did get the GO version of Deus Ex on steam at least.

First playthrough review time. Deus Ex: The Fall is not a strong game in the series. It was made after another game in the same series became successful. The company wanted to grow the series and also make mobile games. This game first came out in 2013 on mobile devices, then later on other platforms. The version made for computers is not done well. It has no updates to make it look better and sometimes does not run properly. Even though it is old and made for mobile, the world and setting…
