A roguelike dice-building game focused on strategic decision-making with each roll. The core gameplay is genuinely strategic and interesting, with different character runs offering meaningful variation and forcing you to adapt your decisions each game. However, the lack of meta progression made the experience feel hollow over time. Even though individual runs are well-designed, there’s little long-term structure to …

+ quite exciting on low difficulty - The more difficult it is, the less opportunity there is for tactics and the more it depends on randomness. The enemy is cheating, and the right dice are always at hand. Your random is limping on both hooves, you roll a die 3 times and the same number three times. 6/10 It's exciting for the first 5 hours while you figure out the mechanics. And then the game starts to get frankly …

This is a top-notch roguelike. You get 6 unique challenges for 6 unique characters, it's hard to get bored with so many unique things to see. The gameplay is all pushing risk vs reward and it works so well, it provides the rush of gambling but you have so much control over the situation you're able to be pretty consistent once you know what you're doing. Chipzel's OST fits so well. The writing is fun AND skippable! …

A rogue-like dungeon crawler up-ended with changing mechanics depending on the dungeon and/or which die you play as. Adorable graphics (seriously, if you ever make a plush Baby Squid, I'd be there in a heartbeat), challenging but not frustrating puzzles, can play as long as you wish and a bouncy soundtrack that totally slaps!

Liked Slay the Spire? Slice & Dice is the best dice-building roguelite to date. I can't believe I slept on this title for so long given how it has a free demo. As a Slay the Spire fan who has also played Monster Train, Indies' Lies, Pirates Outlaws, Dawncaster, and a bit of Dicey Dungeons, I was utterly and immediately gripped. It is so well-done with a snappy, responsive UI and turn action, and it's just as excellent on mobile as it is on PC. I feel it solves UI issues in, and has way more…

It's close to good. There are some things that are good. But it misses the mark. Player agency and build variance are too low. Some characters are fun and dynamic enough to be interesting: the last three you unlock (and I'd argue only the last one, to be honest). The other characters are not interesting. Your character's ability to either do a lot of damage in a turn or the ability to status lock the enemy are the two deciding factors in winning a higher difficulty run. And a lot of abilties…

Firstly lets go over the good: The game has a lot of character and charm, that much I cannot deny as while it does choose to be more comedic about its approach it is very upbeat and whimsical. The music and art are quite good, and plays well into the charm above. The class gimmicks are enjoyable, I do think every class plays different in ways I do…

You know how rougelike games have those moments where you either get incredibly lucky and steamroll through or crash and burn at a crucial moment all because of RNG? Well this game is all about the original RNG: dice rolls. This is an interesting rougelike that focuses on attacks being based on the dice roll and managing a weapon load out that can may or may not have synergy with what you're going for. The concept is nice and the music is funky. The gameplay doesn't get boring as the character…

You just have to google Loud Bird to find that tons of other players have had identical issues. It's entirely possible that the game is using as true a random number generator as a computer can run, but when an enemy has a 72% chance of succeeding, and it nails the roll 10 times in a row, you start to think the dice are rigged. If you can stomach the game requiring more luck…
