Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
Developer Purple Lamp
Epic Mickey is a 2010 platform game developed by Junction Point Studios and published by Disney Interactive Studios for the Wii. It was released in November 2010 in North America and PAL territories. The game focuses on Mickey Mouse, who accidentally damages a world created by Yen Sid for forgotten characters and concepts and must save it. The game features Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a character created by Walt Disney… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 195 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,638 of 1,739 positive).
Players praise the remake as a beautiful and polished upgrade to the original Wii version. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game retains fetch-quest-heavy structure from the original, which can feel repetitive. [4][5] A few players criticize the lack of manual saves and inability to revisit areas for collectibles. [6][7]

As a remake, this game isn't bad. I welcome many of the changes added to the game, albeit some less than others. The game's graphics are superior to the Wii version. However, this game fails in almost every capacity as a remaster. The devs take the artstyle in a new direction that neither succeeds on its own nor preserves the spirit of the original. The aesthetic of the remake attempts to emulate the style of …

This game is amazing. It's an upgrade to the Wii version in nearly every aspect, and both versions have some of the best music I've ever listened to.

By no means is Epic Mickey Rebrushed perfect, however it is truly a great reimagining of the original Wii release. The gameplay is good. The controls feel fluent and easy to understand, and understanding what you need to do most of the time is easy. The main issue is how much of the game still retains its roots on the Wii. Almost the entire game is just a large fetch quest. 99% of the game's quests are: "Go to this …

This is easily one of the best remasters i ever played. It doesnt just sharpen the visuals, it brings the whole world back to life with nice colors, smooth controls, and so much charm!! I truely love purple lamp for already killed it with the spongeBob remaster, and I really(!) hope they keep going because they clearly get how to revive these classics.

Wow where can I start, such a talented development team they really did an immaculate job remaking a well rounded title. Every aspect of the game really does reel you in like no other. It is such a casual adventure game with great side content/collectibles to soak in the true Epic Mickey experience. Though the artwork and contrast of colors do differ from the original title, it is a sight for sore eyes to sit back …

Players who liked Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed talk about beautiful graphics and polished remake; those who didn't talk about repetitive fetch-quest gameplay. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Epic Mickey received "mixed or average reviews" according to review aggregator Metacritic. IGN gave it a score of 8/10, criticizing its camera, control issues and lack of voice acting, but praised its charm, story, art design, and lasting appeal for the players. Australian video game talk show Good Game's two presenters gave the game a 6 and 7 out of 10. They compared the paintbrush abilities to that of the water jet pack from Super Mario Sunshine and found it frustrating how the levels reset back to their original state after leaving. On a positive note, they said it "isn't as 'dark' or 'adult' as the hype made it out to be... I guess it is a kid's game after all, but at least it's an…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, but I have to NOT recommend it for one sole simple reason: once something is done, it's done. You can't go back. There are no multiple saves. No manual save. Made a mistake? Star a new playthrough, it's the only way to try again. If there is one thing that I cannot, ever stand, are things that are not respectful of my time. Without at least being able to roll back to ONE previous save, this game is worthless to me. Edit: there is an angel of a person that uploaded several…

neutral · AI labelView post →I think the quality of the remake is nice. Mickey feels nice to control, it's visually appealing. But the game fundamentally seems designed to screw you over, especially if you are trying to collect things in this collectathon. Outside of the Choices that close off rewards, countless sidequests and collectibles will be locked off from access permanently just by progressing, with no indication. Nothing happens to these places that indicate they would or need to close, they just do. For…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never thought game subscription would take of. The entire concept is stupid to me. Pay per month to *acces selected games but not own them? Take into accoumt 90% of people will play at most 25% of the catalogue. Let's do some math if PS Plus Essentials, where you get 2-4 random titles per month is taken, which costs 9€ per month which if you play down to 25% of the catalogue goes up to 36€ per month (that is you basicly pay 36€ to play that single game which was chosen at random and you still…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Disney Epic Mickey" is such a weird name for a game. I have no idea what the game itself is like, but what in the world is that name? Imagine if other companies followed that format. Nintendo epic Mario. SEGA epic Sonic. Namco epic Pac-Man. Feel free to add more stupidity.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just finished the game, and I'd like to start by praising the originality of it. The game takes place in Wasteland, a world that is a home to Disney characters and concepts that were either forgotten or left in concept arts, never making it to final products. That alone is already an original, unique idea, but the gameplay does not disappoint in the creative factor.. Without spoilers, the core mechanic of the gameplay is that mickey has a brush and can either erase or paint things in the…

Finished **[Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/disney-epic-mickey-rebrushed-switch/)**! I had already completed about three quarters of the game, so spent the whole weekend to finish it. I didn't collect everything, and accidentally failed couple of side quest since I didn't realise there are…
positive · AI labelView post →When this game originally came out, I was an edgy teenager. I wanted to play it so bad as someone who was growing up on Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Unfortunately, it escaped and I eventually forgot about it. Until I caught it on sale for $10 yesterday. Like I said, this is an opinion of someone who never got to play the original but wanted to. That being said, I am almost 10 hours in and it has been such a treat to play. It has its issues but you can clearly tell this was someone's passion…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Outside of some minor additions like a sprint ability, the game is largely identical to the original in gameplay, with some QoL stuff added to help with 100%ing the game, such as being able to replay previous Projector Levels (Side scrollers) The game itself, its a charming and twisted take on Disney's world, with a setting of a ruined land made for forgotten and scrapped cartoons, so older players might get a big nostalgia hit from this, overall the setting of the game is great.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very cute, simple game that brings nostalgia to those who played as a child. I don't have that connection, so I give this a 6.5/10. I enjoyed it, but there were times where I was kind of over the gameplay loop.

I thought I was near the end but there was tons still left to do. Finally finished it though. Overall, quite a good game, but feels very dated in certain aspects. neutral · AI labelView post →The remake itself is super polished as usual with Purple Lamp. The problem I have with it is the very fetchy quests, but this is how of the original game is structured. If you are fine with it go for it. If not their Spongebob games are way more fun imo even if you're not an absolute fan of the franchise
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the name of the game suggests, this game is indeed very Epic, and thus I have nothing else to say. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my childhood favorites, and knowing that a game I have always wanted a remaster for was worth the wait and even more beautiful than the original version, it puts a giant grin on my face. If I had a nickel for every time a dark gothic aesthetic 3D platformer released around 2010 was killed off from having a third installment due to their greedy corporate overlords neglecting and killing off the franchise entirely and leaving us with only two games in their respective IP's as a result, I'd…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is unacceptable that several controls (such as literally movement) cannot be rebound). I refunded this game previously and bought it again because one of the developers on the steam forums said that the controls could be changed. i also had issues where if i bound things to certain keys the game would refuse to do the action even when the key was pressed. Playing with a controller makes this fine, but i did not want to play with a controller at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was my childhood favorite, and to be honest, now it's become an adulthood favorite. Epic Mickey will always hold a place in my heart for the way it inspired my artistic and creative mind with its beautiful art style and unique settings. Thanks for remaking it <3

So many ideas, an incredible world, and innovative gameplay like I’ve never seen in any other game. I enjoyed every single moment. I even did side quests—the movie sections add so much and suddenly break up the gameplay in a great way. It’s an amazing addition, and you can really see they did an outstanding job…
