Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 109 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (115 of 137 positive).
Players praise the game for capturing the MMO tanking experience in a single-player roguelite format. [1][2][3] Many note the game is fun but lacks content and polish in its early access state. [4][2][5] Some reviewers find the aggro mechanics and controls need significant improvement. [6][7]

NOTE: Actual playtime is closer to 2 hours, I played the demo for a while before buying the game to see if the release version fixed the issues I had with the demo. It does not. This game fundamentally fails to capture what it sets out to capture - a recreation of MMO tanking. There are several ways it misses the mark, but instead of listing all of them, I'll describe just one that will most likely show anyone …

As someone who has put WAY too many hours into Star Wars: The Old Republic as a tank main… Don't Lose Aggro instantly clicked with me. 😂 The moment NPCs started roasting me for being the tank, I knew this game understood MMO players. It genuinely feels like the developers “get” tank culture — protecting the healer, managing chaos, trying not to wipe the party while everything falls apart around you. At first, it …

As a tank main in many games (RIP New World), this game really scratched that itch for me. The mechanics for taunting, kiting, and defending allies are well-implemented. Graphics are good and the game ran well on my lower-end PC. The voice acting for the party members is spot on and downright hilarious. Although the game was fun for an hour or two, the lack of content quickly became apparent. I unlocked and …

A Love Letter to MMO Tanking If you've ever spent years holding threat in Azeroth, this game will feel like coming home. It captures that classic pull-and-hold rhythm perfectly, shifting the MMO tanking stress into a satisfying solo roguelite. The talent system is the real hook here—finding synergies that turn you into an unkillable walking fortress is genuinely fun. While the game is currently a bit thin on enemy …

Very fun game, it's a bit janky and low on content, but it's a 6 euro early acces game, so that's about to be expected. The game does really deliver on it's premise. The combat feels good and meaty, both the sound effects and visuals really help to give you the tank experience. Atm there's 3 game modes and 3 classes, with a seperate skill tree for meta progression. I hope to see loot added in some form eventually to …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First impressions are really good if you like Rogue-like progression and want something a little bit out of the ordinary. The game does exactly what it promises to do. You take on the role of a tank, fighting through a dungeon. The game offers a good challenge from the get-go and the power growth is satisfying as you get new abilities along the way. There's a bit of meta progression too that I haven't dug too deep into yet. Graphically, it's consistent and looks good to play. The UI is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review is real 50/50. Huge phat but on this thumbs up. I like the game. I really do. But it just needs a lot of work. It is missing the things that makes tanking good. Things that really show the skill gap between you and the dumb ass DPS players who stand in the fire. Some of the abilities just feel ass. Taunt also seems like it is entirely necessary, and taunt spam is the most boring type of tanking. Chains goes pretty hard when you get upgrades and shield toss is awesome for sure. I'd…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still needs TONS of work before i would consider this a fully playable game. this is more of a proof of concept for the genre
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We got something really solid in the making here. This is a corner of the roguelite genre we've only seen a couple times, but I've had the most fun with Don't Lose Aggro. Would love to see a roadmap soon of what's going to be added. Good job devs! https://youtube.com/live/ZNdyfO1BoZk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: Less than a week after I posted this, a new massive patch was released that addresses many of my concerns as well as added multiple things I hadn't thought of but love the sound of. Unfortunately I don't have a chance to play again for a few days. If anyone in the store sees my review and thinks ill of the game because of it, know I'm leaving it as it is right now for posterity of a sort. as well as a demonstration that it is an *actively* developed game that is taking player feedback…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are 3 main issues I saw during my time trying out this game: 1) it's quite rough, 2) it has limited content (even for an EA roguelite) and 3) I think the appeal is super niche. 1) The UI and targeting need work. I couldn't see the health bar of some tall bosses, meaning I couldn't track when taunt would expire on them. The action targeting obviously isn't precise, tab targeting doesn't always select the mob you want, and for traditional targeting there are often too many mobs on screen.…

One of the rare cases where the devs are actively listening to player feedback. You love to see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCoy2gY5j0Y https://youtu.be/Xj7vdSAIB24

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall the game is pretty good and I enjoyed it for the first 3 hours. It's still definitely early access, little rough around the edges. Visually it's not terrible but it's also not great. The mechanics and feeling you get though I think fills the niche very well. The aoe damage on taunt with the third weapon unlock might be a little busted though imo. I haven't really used anything else because of the permanent damage scaling it has. I'd definitely like to see more abilities and synergy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has a fine premise. But monsters ignoring paths and simplying flying in straight line across any and all terrain to your companion is just too annoying. Fix that, and you get a nice gem
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ignore the "Early Access" tag for a second; if your idea of a good time is tanking a room of mobs while your healer yells about how their grandma is a better tank than you, this game has exactly for you! Jokes aside, the roguelite loop has definitely kept me entertained. It’s easy to get into and I liked trying different builds between dungeons, switching shields and companions, and going for another run. Notice I didn't mention *clearing* dungeons because the game's challenging and I've yet…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little tank simulator for when you simply don't have the time to jump into mmo's anymore. As of right now a bit barebones in terms of content, seemingly only two viable specs but i did enjoy my few hours with this game and excited for how it fleshes out! edit: Runs perfectly fine on Linux without any changes to the used Proton version, forgot to add that

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to go easy on this game because it is early access, it is only $10 before discounts, and it does have potential to be a good game BUT… The “Chains” mechanic in Boss Rush was too big of a glaring middle finger to ignore. The problem - there is no realistic way for you and your ally to not both lose 2/3 of your health when it procs since your character moves about the same speed as a toddler trying to put their shoes on and the chain is quite long. For anyone wondering, the chain makes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played for about 1.5 hours and really enjoyed it. It was fun, the gameplay feels great, and the art is pretty neat. The shield throw skill was my favorite! I always play tanking in MMOs and it feels the developer put a lot of effort and thought of actually mimic the experience of tanking in MMO into a single player. I did run into one bug in the city where I got stuck in a wall and had to restart, which was a bit annoying. The game is also pretty hard, at least for me, but not in a too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this but it's more for what it can become rather than what it currently is. The idea of this is spectacular. Right now though? Once you play it for about 2 hours you've experienced pretty much the entire game and that's if you slowly take your time like me. Having tanked high M+ keys, Savages, Ultimates, etc. this doesn't really feel like any of them in it's current state. The aggro from pulls feels more like a boss with a threat wipe on a 5 second cd so this game is pretty…

neutral · AI labelView post →Game is fun for my tank heart, however I could do without the timer mechanic. I would love to be able to jump in and take my time tanking on my own without a clock looming. Also the controls could use some polish All in all a fun game I am hopeful for the future of
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I would like to love this game... I feel like it can be hard to keep aggro at times especially with the priest as a companion who is screaming at me to keep it. :v The whole using a shield as a resource to take less damage is cool, but when comes to spending abilities it feels weird. Like there's points where you of course could run out of resources because you don't manage it correctly which oops especially when trying to keep aggro and your healers heals out gain "threat" on a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The DPS companion is Russian and sometimes does damage when they're not flaming you and telling you he's uninstalling after you lose aggro.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decided to playtest this game due to me being a long time Tank on World of Warcraft and I can say that despite this being very early on it is an EXTREMELY Fun Experience and Concept So far! I am very excited to see what Oren Does with this game!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →had a blast in the EA, and hoping to see it keep improving
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Healer just looks at you sometimes very realistic... Runs like ♥♥♥♥ tho interesting idea super early access
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very short. i mean like about 2 hours of gameplay and that is pushing it. Not much in the way of monster types too. I know its a early build but even the town doesnt have but empty areas. The build types are limited to about 2 builds. Kind of upset as i was excited for this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a forever tank in MMOs, this game is right up my alley. Biggest inspiration for this game is quite clearly WoW, you have a lot of the same abilities and often even the same names. Classic-style talent trees as well. Needs a ton of work still, of course, but if you are itching for your tank fix but dont want to deal with people (or not currently playing an MMO), this is something to keep an eye on. The low price helps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the games I wish steam had a "Meh" button. Its not terrible by any means, but it's also not good. There's a lot to be improved on, so I'm hoping updates come with more than 3 weapons, maybe character customisation, better nameplates for enemies would rank quite highly for me. I will say, if you're someone who enjoys tanking in MMOs then you'll enjoy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don’t Lose Aggro, developed and published by Oren Koren, is a roguelite action RPG that takes a surprisingly narrow but distinctive concept—tanking—and builds an entire game around it. Instead of treating aggro management as a supporting mechanic within a party-based system, it elevates it into the central challenge, reshaping how players approach combat, positioning, and survival. The result is a game that feels immediately different from most action RPGs, even if its focused design also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat concept for the genre. Game doesnt have much content atm, but the foundation is there to be GREAT. Once this game gets more classes to play and for your party, more skills, more levels/modes and more enemies this game could absolute rock and become very popular. Ran well and had what seems very little in the bug department from my playtime. Its such a cool concept and hopefully the devs keep watering this plant. Probably a 5$ game in its current form, but this game could grow to be an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you need a tester let me know, cause clearly there's no QA done AT ALL. I've tanked in just about any game that allows it and this doesn't represent how any of those games play, this would be a very bad point of reference. Here's a very rough draft I cooked up in my miniscule amount of playing, I wont refund this but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does it need work. Bad starting keybinds Can see model drop into world + so sudden Sound very loud White box stuck on screen no whirlwind vfx Not gaining aggro on a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently purchased this game, I have nostalgia for tanking in old school WoW and other MMO's over the years, it definitely felt very similar to the feeling of tanking for a dungeon, not quite at the level of a raid but I'm sure that is to come in the full release. I wasn't aware how quickly the current content would run out, and so I will say while enjoyable it probably isn't worth the full $10 price point, so catching this on sale would be my recommendation. Consider this if you are looking…

The game is honest. For the price you are paying, you are buying an idea. You are investing in something you believe has potential. And that is exactly what made me want to write this review. An Idea That Works Don't Lose Aggro is clever in its concept.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of potential. It's also very short, especially for experienced tanks. I was able to 100% the game in just about 2 hours. However, I did enjoy the gameplay as it stands. The abilities felt engaging enough to be entertaining without feeling overwhelming. The dungeon rewards speedrunning, and you have a lot of ability to keep yourself alive if (when) your healer can't keep up. There's some basic interrupt mechanics, and some basic telegraphed AoEs, but outside of that it's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a Tank enjoyer, I liked this a lot, I feel it does encapsulate the Tanking fantasy very well, and also comes with different game modes. It does feel barebones at the moment, though, but I was already expecting that with the low price and early access tag, hopefully it grows into something great with more content and the current modes more fleshed out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →stuttering and slow mo in high settings. FPS is capped at 60 as developers have instructed. slow mo in medium settings. works fine in low settings capped or uncapped.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking really good, gonna wait for release though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty great. Still room for improvement, it's EA after all, but no bugs, everything works, movement is fluid, looks nice. Solid game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For someone who used to tank back in WoW during BC/Wrath, i have a massive respect to the tank class and how difficult it is to keep your team safe. This is no different, Keep your support alive, Take the aggro, be a good tank! Best tanking simulator lol

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s very early access but the bones are there enough to see that this is gonna be THE game for MMO tanks who want a break from other players. I’ve had a very good time in my short gameplay and have been keeping an eye on this game since news of it went public. I will definitely be updating my review with each content patch

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not play MMO games all that much, though I have tried a couple every now and then. I never played a Tank in those times that I did play MMOs so this was a great was to check out the experience. I have to say that Tank gameplay is pretty awesome. This is still an Early Access game, and more will be added obviously, but I am having a great time with what is here. There are some rough spots with enemy AI here and there, and some mechanics did not work right initially, but aside from that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a wow tank, I love this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s still early to judge since it’s in Early Access, but it feels really unique. I don’t remember playing anything quite like it. You can tell a lot of love went into it, and it has great potential. I also liked the references to World of Warcraft and similar games, and I can relive my past Wow trauma with this thing safely without annoying my guild crew or getting shouted on. Well the NPCs actaully do shout at you so maybe that's not accurate.
