What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 186 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (3,266 of 5,513 positive).
Several reviewers find the final boss fight tedious and poorly designed, comparing it to the Marauder. [1][2][3] Some players appreciate the new Sentinel Hammer and improved difficulty over Part One. [4][5]

Not sure why this is Mixed for the reviews. It's nothing too new, but it's more of the same fun. If you Doom Eternal, you'll enjoy the expansions.

This final DLC to Eternal is an upgrade from Part One in many ways, but it still suffers from many of the same problems. But hey, at least I can bonk them with a hammer now! Part Two adds a new weapon to your arsenal: the Sentinel Hammer. This is easily the best new feature, as it finally adds a way to slow down combat for a few seconds and also to stun-lock many of the previous DLC's annoying enemies, as well as …

Doom Eternal is one of the best FPS there is. It is incredibly fun, awesome music, awesome map and everything good you have probably heard is true. With that said, this DLC is ♥♥♥♥. The first part was not so good but fine. This one is just BS. It adds more enemies that restrict what weapons you can kill demons (and also restrict movement), so it breaks the combat flow of the base game. And you know what? That would …

final boss is legit a reskinned marauder but bigger and just annoying. i love spending 5 minutes waiting for the boss to even TRY to attack me so i can daze it. it overall was not a bad experience, but the final boss and some of the enemy mechanics just do not make me want to recommend this part. escalation encounters were the only hella fun part. this was nowhere near as good as the base game but it wasn't …

What an absolute terrible let down of a DLC. Not worth the money, even on sale. part one is way more enjoyable. Spoilers: Everything builds up to you killing the dark lord, which is the last boss battle. The most boring, dogwater, mid, moronic design of a boss battle. He regenerates health if he hits you with melee, if you're not a 100+ hour eternal player, you will get hit. You have to learn his pattern to get him …

neutral · AI labelView post →Anyone else get bored once they reach the final boss?. For some reason as soon as I get to the "end" of the game, I completely lose motivation to play. This happened with DOOM: Eternal, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Paper Mario TTYD, Cassette Beasts, Shovel Knight, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate, God of War, Mass Effect... Pretty much every game I've ever played. It's like the fun part was the journey, and I've seen everything the game has to offer, and I just don't really enjoy the ending process. Feels like a…

Edit: Thank you, u/[email protected], and everybody else who gave some solid advice. >The problem is the drive is mounted with the noexec flag, which is why nothing on it will run. positive · AI labelView post →DOOM ETERNAL is not just the best Doom game, it's one of the best games ever made. Sleek, tightly tuned, unrelenting, and brutal as hell. Mick Gordon's soundtrack is all bangers. We will never see the Doom franchise hit this height again - and it never needs to. Happy 6th, DOOM ETERNAL.
positive · AI labelView post →I want to love Doom The Dark Ages, which I accidentally keep calling Doom Eternal. It's a much better game than Doom Eternal in every respect, but I think id took the lesson "a story should be happening around doomguy that he doesn't care about" away from "doomguy, THE PLAYER, doesn't care"

positive · AI labelView post →Additional Onimusha thought: While many have invoked Sekiro (and they're not wrong - it kinda feels like the melee of that expanded in all directions), the general structure and vibe of the game feels like a melee counterpart to Doom Eternal/Dark Ages. Same counter-heavy, push-forwards combat flow!
neutral · AI labelView post →Steam deck FPS game weapon switching. How do you prefer to do it? I find the weapon wheels to be way too clunky especially when playing games like Doom Eternal. I've been using the back buttons. Regular press for 1 2 3 4 and long press 225ms for 5 6 7 8. For some games a button chord for 9 and 10 but that's rarely needed. 225 ms delay seems like a sweet spot. It's short enough to switch guns quickly but long enough to make it different from a regular press. I think it would be even better…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun fact: this game has one of the most deranged fan crossovers. Because _DOOM Eternal_ released on the same date as _Animal Crossing: New Horizons_, fans leaned into it _hard_. Look up “Eternal Horizons” on YouTube. There’s a bunch of content like that. Damn shame they never did anything official on the _DOOM_ side. (_Animal Crossing_ couldn’t because of its lower age rating, but you best believe there are a bunch of _DOOM_ designs online, that you can add to stuff in-game.)
neutral · AI labelView post →I played on Ultra Violence, same as I did for the base campaign and TAG 1. I love the environments of this DLC, they're a breath of fresh air. A lot of other things that CAN be said dumb down to skill issue on my part. I personally wasn't a fan of the spirit and its buffs to the demon it possesses nor the screechers and their buffs on death, but I could just, y'know, get good. ...But what can be said with absolute certainty alongside everyone else is that the final boss is actual garbage to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doom Eternal is the only game to get OTs right unfortunately
positive · AI labelView post →It was going so nicely for a lot of its duration. It looks even better than the first DLC, starting off with a fantasy-medieval setting that looks lovely in contrast with the demon hordes, and closing with an impressive environment, before moving to a slice of Earth recovering from the recent apocalypse, and then a final showdown in Hell, which of course has some of the best setpieces. I honestly wasn’t bothered by the new additions to the enemy ranks, even if they are just recolors with…

Kids have had Spriggy debit visa cards for years and use them to buy Steam games (under some supervision) so it would be working as intended on that side. Doom Eternal, bought with a non-bank adult debit visa is still showing in the family library. Edit: Ok, confirmed this shit show does appear to be real. neutral · AI labelView post →the final boss is so utterly and unbelievably terrible, like 3 mins of playtesting should be enough for a functioning brain to go"nah this aint it, we need to change this". i cant believe, i cant wrap my head around, how a boss can even be this bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite possibly the most obnoxious boss fight I've ever fought. Not even hard, I beat it first try. But 30 minutes of fighting a marauder that only does the green flash once in a blue moon is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design. The marauders throughout both DLCs are also just really obnoxious to fight. Again, not hard. It just feels like its designed to annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it's vastly overhated IMO it's way better than Part 1 But yeah, the last boss (the only boss) was bonkers Why the hell did he need 5 health bars? Would 3 not have been enough? I recommend it, it's fun

That Big bad Demon over there? Chainsaw him, nuke him, run through his body with multile bullets repeatedly while around you there are tens of hundreds of other Demons waiting for the exact same fate. DOOM was fun, because it forced you to play in a way that was fun for you. You didn´t have to use the rocket launcher as an example, but it was an…
