Players describe it as a short, fun retro shooter reminiscent of Blake Stone and Wolfenstein 3D. [1][2][3] Many note it is very brief, with playtimes around one to one and a half hours. [4][5][6] Some reviewers criticize bland enemies, uninspired level design, and technical issues. [7][8][9]

I bought this in a bundle with Zortch since this was pretty cheap and has good reviews. I beat this game, but the lack of enemy variety, dissatisfying combat, cheerful soft-core MIDI soundtrack, and uninspired level design left me with a bland experience. It's a first-person shooter, but most sections of the game don't give you a lot of ammo, so you spend a lot of fights trying to stab enemies with your knife that …

A nice and short "Boomer-Shooter" in the style of Blake Stone and Wolfenstein 3D. Mostly I wish there was a minimap but overall its a fun and short expierence.

You get what you paid for. You get 6 weapons, none of which stand out, about 7-8 enemies including the final boss, none of which stand out, I finished the game one minute short of 90 minutes, and there's nothing in general that really stands out about the game but its not offensively bad either (aside from the final gun being a disappointment, the chaingun is the real superweapon of the game.)

the only real criticism I can level against this game for the price point it's at ($3, though I got it for half that) is that it's short even for the price point- one hour! that's not much. it could use a free expansion to double that or something, but I know the developer has already moved on to other games. as for the game itself, it's what I'd call the missing link between wolfenstein 3D and blake stone. it's got …

I’m giving DOSman: Space Aliens in Space! a thumbs up, but I liked DOSman’s other games, like Reaper and Reverend, quite a bit more. This game doesn’t really do anything wrong, and for the $3 price tag you’ll get about 1 to 1.5 hours of playtime, your money's worth, which feels fair. The enemies are a little bland, though still serviceable. The levels also feel somewhat uninspired in their design—many share the same …

Enjoyable enough for a free title, but for a paid game ... maybe get it on an 80% off sale. Some things to note: - You'll have to edit the config file if you want to play in a resolution other than 720p, but this can cut…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, my husband @daglassman4797.bsky.social has been working on an indie FPS game called Jurassikill. He showcased it to the DOSMan server before the direct, and the reception was overwhelmingly positive. I'm so damn proud of him!
neutral · AI labelView post →If you're looking for a relaxing FPS with aliens, this game might be a good fit for you. While the aliens look similar to each other, the mazes are decent, and the keys are typically located near the doors, making it easy to progress without worrying memorizing anything. The gameplay feels much easier compared to other DosMan games, and there's only one boss at the end. I managed to beat it without any issues and didn't die once throughout the game. It's alright for $2.99.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty basic, not as many bugs as I expected but a few, several key features missing, patience-demanding level design, very short. But you know what? Buy it. This studio started a project, finished it, and RELEASED it. That's more than most rookie devs do.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perhaps DOSMan Games can help publish your obscure boomer shooter, or your weird flex on a car combat game that visually is like Slipstream but plays like a Twisted Metal Black arena or something more obscure. But ya these guys are fucking cool. Videogames! #indiedev #boomershooter #rawr

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent little old school fps. Weapon sounds could be much better though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bright, fun little game with great music, good humour and heart. Doesn't overstay its welcome You really can't go wrong with DOSMan
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It took me exactly one hour to finish "DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space!". Have to say, it's much better than DOSMan's previous game (Reaper). Also, DOSWoman is hot!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's a throwback! Did you play DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space? One of our earliest titles, this Blake Stone-inspired game pushed our games in a more narrative direction!
neutral · AI labelView post →Cute little boomer shooter made by a single developer. Don't expect anything on the level of Dusk or CARNAL, but is entertaining and visually pretty well done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kill aliens and get the huzz
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It didn't cost a lot and was an hour of fun. Visually impressive, balanced guns and enemies. Dope soundtrack. Yeah easy recommendation. 9/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Video: https://youtu.be/N6pUXy45h6Q DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space! feels slightly misleading as a title. I guess technically you are in space, being on a planet called DOS. But, the game consists of being in various places on the planet and then inside an alien spaceship that is also on the planet. Anyway, silly title aside it's a fun FPS. This gem of a FPS is made with Easy FPS Editor, a surprisingly good game creation tool that results in games that are somewhere between Wolfenstein 3D…

neutral · AI labelView post →Man, I tried playing a bunch of these cheap FPSes from this publisher called DOSman Games and all they've done is convince me that the Easy FPS Editor (that every game they publish uses) is a massive pile of shit that should never be used by anyone.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So happy to see new life in the (very) dusty "Blake Stone" corner of retro shooters, this felt very good. Sometimes I just need to shoot the guys, and this gave me exactly what I was looking for. I also adore the alert and death sounds of the first enemy introduced

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space! is a deliberately stripped-down, retro-styled first-person shooter that embraces simplicity, speed, and nostalgia as its defining traits. Developed and published by DOSMan Games, the game positions itself as a playful throwback to the era when shooters were built around tight corridors, readable enemy patterns, and the simple thrill of blasting through waves of foes. From the outset, it’s clear that the goal isn’t to modernize the genre or layer on complex…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it works on steam deck but every time you turn you FPS drops to 30 to like 2 FPS its horrible not to mention there's no option to select a difficulty at the start and Ammo and health are hard to come buy so the game can be hard to come buy which can make the game challenging it is a cute boomer shooter but needs improvement
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I’m not kidding" This is an incredible indie game and part of The graphics are vibrant, the performance is excellent, and I believe the developers rolled their own engine, because in a world of choppy Unity Engine games, this one's install size is a scant 80 megabytes. The sound design is very charming, and the varied weapons give you just enough ammo to make sure you're always prepared, if you're…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And my latest DosMan Games LP has gone public - DEAD TRASH! A cool game so far :) youtu.be/QZld-EmN4p4
positive · AI labelView post →This isn't a homage to old shooters; It's an insult to them. No sound effect when you pick up ammo, a keybinding for a reload button that you never seem to need to press, & if your game has a crouch button, and you haven't needed to press it by level 2, then it has no reason being there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn, that's a lot. Although that being said, I'm friends with DOSMan Games who put out bitesize boomer shooters, and they're going through a phase of developing and publishing a game every month right now. Wow.
neutral · AI labelView post →A short but really satisfying retro style FPS that reminds me of Blake Stone. I found the art design to be really fun, decent enemy roster, level design was well made ,weapons felt fun to use. The story is very much like something from the DOS era I.E simple and cheesy. Can be beaten in under an hour but was very fun.

positive · AI labelView post →Man, I tried. The previous DOSman releases were at the very least, decent. This one is particularly heavy with enemy spam and, to be honest, I've tried and failed multiple times to finish the game, not because of difficulty but because of tedium. Reverend had a fun knockoff Cultic vibe, and it was my favorite of the DOSman games that I've played so far. I'm gonna uninstall this game and never return to it, but I will continue to work my way through the DOSman games that have been…

In "DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space!" you shoot aliens that have invaded the planet, and they stole one singular chick. She has big boobs, you save her at the end (thank god). "DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space!" gives you a standard array of weapons, and each weapon is represented with lovely sprites. Even the enemies have received the lovely sprite treatment. My biggest complaint about "DOSMan: Space…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the shorter games of DOSMan but also kinda fun. The artstyle fits perfectly with the ost (I was vibin while playing) Yea I readed often that there are plenty of doom mods which are better and for free.. But let me tell you something, guys: considering this is a single-developer indie game, I think DOSMan brings a unique vibe to his games. It is something that really hooks me personally and makes me want to support him in his other projects. YOU FOUND ME!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good short fps! Not the best one from Dosman games nor the worst! Approved
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short boomer shooter style FPS. I enjoyed the retro throwback, reminds me of Blake Stone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An ok short boomer-shooter that seems to be inspired by the likes of Wolfenstein 3D, even though this game does use freelook and it's using stairs and blocks, so it's not a single-height game like Wolfenstein 3D. Maps are fairly short and I never really got lost even though there's no automap available. Took me less than 80 minutes to beat. Enemies aren't too threatening and it is a fairly easy difficulty game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What even IS a DOSman? DOSman: Space Aliens is Space! is a Retro FPS game developed and published by DOSman Games, Running on the EFPSE engine. It follows the titular DOSMan as alien invaders have invaded his home planet of planet DOS and does the most logical solution as a Retro FPS Protagonist. A retro FPS, situated roughly in 1992, halfway between Wolfenstein 3D and Doom in terms of tech. Thematically it feels like an homage to Blake Stone if anyone can remember that. Level design is decent. The rest of it is just so so but somehow it manages to be fun, in part because it does not overstay its welcome at all. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"DOSMan: Space Aliens in Space!" is another "boomer shooter" from DOSMan... basically another GzDoom kitbash, think of this as a mod/TC for the original DooM (which you can play for free, where this is a paid product... that is not as good as DooM... you can see this is a problem). I will say this slightly comedy themed shooter is one of the better DOSman boomer shooters, in no small part because it's basically a complete ripoff of Duke Nuke'm 3D (but again, not as good). Aliens invade,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great casual entry in its genre with vibrant visuals, simple but satisfying gameplay, and plenty of old school charm. It is also very affordable and comes in a lot of bundles...so there's really not too much going against picking this one up and trying it out, especially if you see it on sale. I do see a trend with a quick glance at the other reviews regarding the length. Personally, I prefer shorter experiences more often than not, so The game only taking an hour, hour and half or…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, short, and simple retro style shooter. Very much inspired by Blake Stone. It's well made, so I think it is definitely worth the modest price they ask. The only thing I found annoying were the amount of rooms filled with alien eggs that will hatch into full blown aliens that will chase you if you shoot them. At first, it was a cool Alien-style homage, but it quickly got annoying as I had to meticulously plan every shot to avoid getting overrun with hatched aliens. That said, the hatched…
