Every single encounter in this game has been carefully crafted to be as annoying and unfun as possible. I put up with it for 16 hours but I can’t even bother to finish this. - 2d zelda games have some form of backtracking but this is ridiculous, you sometimes need to solve the same puzzle over and over again each time you enter the rooms. - the enemies, god the enemies. They aren’t necessarily difficult but I can’t …

This is a love letter to A Link to the Past and the GB(C) Zeldas, with its own gameplay spin of element based puzzling and combat, plus modern effects and quality of life features. The game is awesome so far, it's everything I could have hoped for when I backed the Kickstarter years ago. Truly a shame that these kinds of games from my childhood have fallen out of fashion, even the newer Zeldas are a completely …

Fun, nostalgic gameplay directly inspired by the Oracle Zelda games mixed with Golden Sun's psyenergy approach to puzzle solving, would very highly recommend on that alone, unfortunately it is dragged down by its verbose narrative that is poorly written, tedious, and frequently interrupts you as soon as you are getting into the groove of things. Constant whiplash going between having a blast when I'm allowed to play …

It's early so hard to review the full game, but so far this is everything I could have wanted. Scratches the 2d Zelda itch in a great way, and it's refreshing to play this type of game in a new setting! * The music and sound effects are so good, I wasn't expecting how good they are. Really top quality atmosphere. * The game feels tight and responsive - the ability to move around freely in any direction with a …

Absolutely lovely game. As some of the other reviews have said, it really scratches the 2D Zelda itch. - Really cool world building - Great sound design - the elements are fun to use and have some neat little puzzles using them - the sword feels great to use, the shield could do with being directionally locked like in most of the 2D zelda games, but that's a minor complaint - the story is interesting, and the …

One the surface it looks attractive enough: the graphics and music fit the necessary bar of quality for the genre, which I guess is enough for some reviewers to give it a positive review. However after ten or so hours I started to feel something off about it that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Now at the final dungeon, I can confidently say this game suffers from overall…

I've been keeping track of this Zelda-like indie for years, even before its hugely successful Kickstarter! I just received my backer code for the game, and I'll be playing in about 2-ish hours 🥹🙏 #Elementallis

neutral · AI labelView post →I am sure there are people who will like this game, but I just can't get over the fact that there isn't a single original/creative idea present in the entire game. Exploring is generally fine, but there are no real puzzles aside from power A is used at spot A. Biggest issue is the lack of consistency in how the powers interact with the environment (torches just randomly behave in like 5 different ways, ledges give no indication if you can jump down or dash over them, etc). Both dungeon design…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all - im a huge Zelda and golden Sun Fan so it hurts me to downvote this but bear with me: -Graphics 8/10 Exactly what you would expect, the world looks fantastic and basically identical to every Zelda GBA game and the likes. Really great work from the devs. At the same time this leads to looking a bit generic but thats probably a questions of taste. - Story: ?/10 im not far into the game so any assumption about the story would be unfair, but safe to say the intro and the first…

The level of polish of every single aspect of the game (pixel art, music, gameplay, user experience, etc) is astonishing. Congrats to the devs for their hard work!❤
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Elementallis makes me want to replay some Zelda games, but also the Mana games because of the different elements you can use. Such a great feeling when an indie hits both spots just right 😌 I'm probably never gonna shut up about this game, it's just so damn good... and the MUSIC 🥹 #Elementallis
positive · AI labelView post →Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this game. As a lifelong fan of the pre-Switch Zelda games, I feel like the turn the series took with Breath of the Wild just left me behind, and with the success of it and Tears of the Kingdom, I can't help but feel a series I love more or less died to me. So I was very much in the market for a game that would scratch that itch for me. But the longer I played it, the more its flaws became obvious. Let me try to break it down. == Story…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I get into the spiel........this game is good for what it costs, and I enjoyed playing it. However, this game is very flawed and, while all the flaws are minor, they will drive certain people crazy. If you are extremely picky about quality, aren't a very patient person, or just want some low-effort mindless fun, you will hate this game. Now on to the spiel..... Lets get three things out of the way quick. One, I actually played this game all the way through. Two, the enemies and…

positive · AI labelView post →I enjoyed my time with Elementallis. I was looking for a Zelda 2D clone and that's exactly what I got. The good sides: * The game is stable, I only ran into a few minor issues here and there. * The game is very forgiving, for example when you fall off a ledge, you don't spawn at the room's door, but right at the ledge. * The minigame in the map is amazing, maybe even too good. * Controlling my character felt nice. I have played some other Zelda clones where the movement was much more floaty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I uhhh...I genuinely don't know if I can continue with the game. Elementallis has an incredible amount of glitches. 😅 This one caused me to stop rn: next to where the Fire circle is was a mine cart. I hopped on it and it flew off screen diagonally. My character can't move or jump or do anything

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Disclaimer* If you have kids and don't want to discuss what "non-binary" means then I would recommend skipping this game. No need to support devs who are confused about 7th grade biology. It is "only" in the character start screen (Male, Female, "Non-binary"). I Will Update once finished to confirm the whole game isn't filled with filth. Otherwise lots of other options out there... The game and design, are very interesting and i enjoy the gameplay so far. Just the looming…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mid. Positives: the music is great and it does scratch that old school Zelda GBC (not snes ALTTP) itch. Barely. Negatives: everything else. I feel the story may legitimately have been written by a kid and I'm afraid of hurting this person's feelings. At the very least, the game would've benefitted from less text. Imagine describing how GBA games worked narrative-wise to a person who never played one, then this person writes a game based on that conversation only: that's how this games reads…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't really know where to start. Unfortunately, a lot of things were done wrong here, resulting in a game that might seem interesting to Zelda fans but ultimately causes nothing but frustration. Let’s start with the worst part: the translation. If you plan to play in English, you’ll quickly notice that either translation tools or poorly paid amateurs were used here—a lot of it doesn’t make sense or sounds unnatural. Often, you have no idea what’s even happening, which is a real shame and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 15 minutes into the game. I have no idea if the gameplay is awesome yet. But holy crap the music, the vibes, and the story hook is incredible. I have never played such a cinematic opening to a pixel art game, and I am already in love. The only thing I want now is a PortMaster of this so I can play it on my handheld!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not far in yet, but old school zelda vibes are on point. The game follows "Insert your name here" as you try to undo the fallout of the past wherein the elements have basically gone awry. You must travel the world through each element themed zone to find the temple, acquire the elements and bring balance to the world. The gameplay is simple, but responsive, at least for where I am in the game. I think the initial outset of the game is a little slow but once you get an element it really comes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Elementallis is basically zelda style dungeon crawler action RPG games. You are able to control different elemental by conquer each region element temple. Control movement and dungeon puzzle is fairly easy. the story lore is at the weaker side, so far you basically try to revive the world as the elemental in each region is dying because your parents mess it all up. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →New game review! 🎮 🔥💧⚡ELEMENTALLIS (PC/Switch/PS/Xbox) @elementallis.bsky.social This is a love letter for 16-bit top-down adventure games, but their own elements of personality is what makes the experience worth it. www.gabtoschi.com/blog/review/...
neutral · AI labelView post →Truly a project born out of love! The mechanics feel smooth and the puzzles thought out. At the time of review I only unlocked 2 of the available elements but their functions and uses for puzzles and exploration were clear. A nice and relaxing soundtrack only adds to the enjoyment, but the star of the show is clearly the art; especially at parts of the map when the camera zooms out the art is just mindblowingly beautiful
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great game. Not my usual kind of thing, but this one has me hooked. The gameplay with elements is super fun and the puzzles are very rewarding. and the soundtrack? Absolutely killer

neutral · AI labelView post →I've been missing proper zelda dungeons so much. You know the ones where you get a dungeon item, and then you defeat the boss with that? It's a lost art. But Elementalis delivers on these dungeons. That and a proper overworld to explore to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is beautiful and music is even better. Really gives the Zelda Link to the past and Zelda Gameboy vibes. Yet there is so much tutorial and talking and pausing that I can't play the game. Every time I feel like yes, they'll let me swing a sword and kills something or explore something, bam. Tutorial time again. Or let me explore a cool looking town and talk to one person, and bam. Several pages of text. I don't get it. It does so well making you feel immersed in the environment, then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of the old Gameboy Zelda games, I absolutely loved this gem of a game. Not sure if it's mainly nostalgia for me and if the game concept can hold up for the newer generations, but for the old man I am I'd recommend this game to anyone. Looking forward to more :)

negative · AI labelView post →Elementallis (PS5, 24 hours): I've never played something so Zelda that also had such a strong identity of its own. Musically memorable and impactful. Janky collision. Poorly button mapped shortcut wheel. Creative mechanics and puzzles.
neutral · AI labelView post →4/5 I finished Elementalis, and overall, I had a really good time with it. If you like old-school Zelda-style games, especially that A Link to the Past kind of vibe, this is absolutely in that lane. It has the pixel art, the dungeons, the elemental powers, the little puzzles, and that "let me try this ability over here and see what happens" kind of gameplay. For an indie game from a small team, it’s honestly pretty impressive. Quick note, because apparently some people are losing their whole…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game borrows a LOT visually from Zelda:A Link to the Past it doesn't quite come close to it in story, characters, or unique mechanics. There are only a few minor issues with it like missing visual icons for active status effects and cliff jumping locations. While it may not be a masterpiece it is still a solid game with some fun dungeons and puzzles and great music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tldr; the game pushes "equality" too far, which hinders many fun parts. Game starts OK, but the experience becomes worse and worse. Detailed issues on how each element is fun, or how well they are implemented, are omitted for brevity. They are already mentioned in other reviews. I do praise the developer (assumed to be a one-man team) for finishing a product to be presented. At the start, you have a few elements that are interesting enough to recall old-school zelda feelings. Some elements…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🎮 2026 Game #120: Elementallis Basically a Zelda-like with a cool magic system. Great art and world design and I liked the puzzles too, but the gameplay can be a bit rough around the edges, especially when it comes to combat. Needs a bit more polish, but still worth a look. 6/10 #IndieGames
neutral · AI labelView post →It's good. It's really good. If you like 2D top down Zelda you will adore this game, but there's more. It isn't just a Zelda clone. There is an actual story that is interesting. A world that has consequences made from the choices of the people that live within it. Every eco-system, every village has its own unique culture. And even if they are cut off from the outside world, they are still connected to it. A lot of "zelda" clones have puzzles and gimmicks, but this is the best dungeon design…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I loved: The style and art, the music, the charming but not over the top story, the different bioms Annoying parts - some of the bosses were pretty tough and annoying but with in the end nothing that can't be handled. Also some of the temples got confusing after a while, especially towards the end. Overall, great game. I recommend playing the DEMO because if you enjoy that, you will enjoy the game. If you don't, it didn't cost you anything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just beat #elementallis ... And man, that game really was worth the wait. The elemental system was a wonder to experiment with and figure out, and the overall game captivated the classic Zelda charm really well I have a few nitpicks with it, but overall it's an easy recommend for Zelda-like fans
positive · AI labelView post →Had been waiting on this game for a few years now and it was worth the wait. Really fun RPG that manages to have quite a bit of substance while managing to be concise enough to not overstay its welcome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the better Zelda-likes in the last few years. Game captures the gameplay and exploration elements of Zelda remarkably well. Top notch audio throughout the game, music is great and retro sound effects are solid. 100% will require multiple play throughs due to "Hero Mode" being locked until you beat the game once. Really not a fan of this sort of thing as I would have preferred it be an option from the start with the appropriate warning. Overall, this is a big game with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm still early but so far this game is great. A really well done homage to LTTP with nice pixel art. And I love that the torches cast shadows.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best old style zelda-like games out there. Definitely worth a play if you are into this sort of game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A massive disappointed game. Played this on the Steam Deck and was ready to re-live playing any top down Zelda game on my Gameboy Color, like the old days and was disappointed greatly by this game. They tried to make it feel like an old Zelda game with the graphics, play style, dungeons, etc. and for the most part, it does feel like an old Zelda game. But the game just isn't finished and feels like an early access demo. The game is pretty bland with a somewhat dumb story line where your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started playing Elementallis this week and suddenly 5 hours flew by 😅 If you're looking for a new take on a 2D Zelda game, check this one out - It's a blast! #IndieGame
positive · AI labelView post →Having beaten the game twice (once on hero mode, the unlockable hard mode), I can confidently say that it's a very enjoyable zelda-like, and the flaws do little to take away from that. If you intend to 100% the game, I recommend doing it on your second run. The extra hearts, gems, and mana crystals aren't needed on normal difficulty. What I like: -Good music. The soundtrack is a proper modern soundtrack, but usually with at least one 8-bit instrument. -Decent story. It's nothing special, but…
