What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 165 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,935 of 2,238 positive).
Players find Embr a fun, chaotic co-op game best enjoyed with friends. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game gets repetitive or boring after a short time. [4][5] Several players mention the multiplayer community is nearly dead, requiring friends to play. [6][7][8]

Very fun arcade style fire fighting game! Picking it up on sale is a must, its not worth its full price tag, but for a couple quid its good. I played a few hours of this. First of all, it really scratches the itch for a firefighting type game - most I find are dull simulators, or games where firefighting is quite bland and the premise is taken way too seriously - which becomes tedious after a short period. With …

fun game to play with friends, not too too difficult or long to complete either imo, if you care about completion. game has some evil canadians or something. which i think is accurate, based on my limited experience with canadians, so i would say the game has some realism as well. (no offense intended to non-evil canadians, if you guys even exist)

Embr is a fun, chaotic party-style game that shines when played with friends. It starts off simple but gradually layers in new mechanics and hazards that shift how you approach each mission. We found ourselves naturally developing roles, like assigning someone as the designated rescue expert or choosing gear to counter specific dangers like electricity. The core gameplay can feel repetitive after a while, but the …

I love this game. It has its quirks and sometimes even easy stuff feels pretty hard, but I was able to get my friends to get this on Xbox and play as well as a few others on Steam, so we always have a pretty fun and funny experience playing this. I hope to see this game grow because I think it really hits the appealing graphics and fun gameplay itch I need here and there. Chaotic and fun- nice!
Summarised from 34 of the 179 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 11, 2026. How summaries are made
84% of the 165 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Embr. The complaint that keeps coming up: gets boring or repetitive quickly. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Embr is a mixed bag for me. Mechanics-wise, it’s quite good. The game controls are a bit stiff at times, but the basic systems work as expected. The problem is in the design. The game feels like it can’t decide what it wants to be. At first, it’s a fire rescue simulator, but then it slowly shifts to levels that are more about memorising layouts than actually using the tools you’re given and quick problem solving, like saving civilians with a slide, timing a trampoline, or managing water. And…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly really fun game! I've only played single player because I have social anxiety but it would definitely be incredible with friends. I wish I could turn off the beeping alarm noise whenever I take damage without silencing all of the sfx though because it's jarring and gets old very fast

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for players that don't mind to handle fire with care. Best played with friends in coop. No, this is not your next AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA game. It's more an FFFFFFFFFFFFF game. P.S.: Too much water for my fire dragon taste! ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fun this game provides will certainly be determined with the people you play it with. Fun game with a neat concept with some extra to provide more challenges. In short, not a bad game, not a great game. Little more than okay. Embr is an Indie firefighting game with pretty decent gameplay. Players are (primarily) tasked to save civilians while a house, apartment, or some sort of building is on fire. Fire in the buildings cannot be fully extinguished; I'm assuming this is by design to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know, my grandfather was a firefighter, and as a child, after hearing so many stories about my grandfather from my father, I wanted to become one myself. But at one point, I got too carried away playing and got a third-degree burn on my leg. After that, my father strictly forbade me from becoming a firefighter, saying I'd get myself and others killed. This game gives me the opportunity to feel like a firefighter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I believe this game is really fun, don't get me wrong it does have its flaws and is still a bit buggy, but not enough to a point where its unplayable, however if you expect to play the multiplayer part of this game, make sure you bring some friends, because no one plays public multiplayer on this no more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for the first 30 minutes, and then after that it's just boring. Not bad, just boring.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tossing people out of a building and shooting at fire with guns. Very underrated in my opinion. Multiplayer is dead unless you have a squad of friends. Can be played greatly alone though if you want to. 4 burnt corpses out of 5.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely unique, would recommend during a sale so you can gift your friends copies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play solo or with up to 4 players to extinguish flames, rescue people and many more. It starts off very casually, but gets hardcore towards the end. It has variety of activities.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And our raffle is on-brand! While we tackle this cooperative garbage fire, you can win a game about extinguishing fire! Cooperatively! This is Embr, a firefighting game inspired by the likes of Overcooked and such. store.steampowered.com/app/1062830/...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too glitchy, too buggy, some nice ideas, but ultimately not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what the obscure hell is this game? Honestly, it's not that bad, especially with a friend. I think it's a pretty decent game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to play for less than two hours with friends and then refund it, that’s what I’d recommend... but not more than that. Customers and items glitch out. The District 2 boss bugs out very easily and starts blowing wind while sending barrels infinitely, which breaks the barrels and spawns more barrels in return, over and over again… But I still want to say thanks to the people who shared redeem codes that can be reused infinitely. It saved me from a long and stupid grind of at least…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Embr, developed by Muse Games and published by Curve Games, takes the serious and often heroic concept of firefighting and transforms it into a zany, fast-paced cooperative experience that thrives on chaos, improvisation, and humor. It’s a game that replaces solemn realism with slapstick physics, turning fire emergencies into comedic playgrounds for up to four players. Set in a near-future world where corporate privatization has extended even to emergency services, Embr casts you as a freelance…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun game with a lot of content. Good for couples co-op. Low skill floor, but high skill ceiling. A+++ soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea is great but the execution is so lackluster. Every map is press W and hold water hose ton hardest dificulty, no smoke no challenge no nothing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't imagine if my friend and i were real fire fighter, we are talking about what we can take instead of how to save people.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You do everything except saving people from the fire - the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basic concept is pretty fun running around putting out fires, but I have a few issues that make me not really want to play more. 1) A LOT of repetition. All the special missions are on the exact same level with nothing really changed except potentially the locations of the people. If I wanted to grind I'd rather play an RPG where it feels like I'm getting more out of it. 2) Difficulty. I don't think I would have a strong opinion if there wasn't a difficulty option, but when I pick hard…
