Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 184 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (730 of 1,085 positive).
A common complaint is that the game is incomplete and no longer supported, leading many to advise against purchasing it. [1][2][3][4]

Set after the events of Endzone where Earth is teeming with radiation after a savage war, humans are now starting to resettle in pockets of habitable land. This is a colony simulator / city builder that is a huge missed opportunity. The setting sounds amazing on paper but no matter how good the core gameplay loop of increasing resource production and looking after your townsfolk might be, it doesn't warrant further …

I'm giving this a thumbs up because it's an incredible game and has a decent challenge factor to it that makes it worth playing since it isn't going to hold your hand and make you feel all warm and cozy. You're going to have a hard time helping your settlements grow and survive, as it should be...but you'll feel a sense of reward when you succeed. Despite anything good or favorable that I could continue to say about …

Just finished my first game (yes, thats take me 18 hours to) and boy i have a things or two to say. First of all- Why nobody realise this game is literaly ANNO with cars in postap setting? What i do like, is anno-like multi-cities economy. Thats an amazing finding. What i do like, is an expeditions with puzzles to solve. What i do like is this game actually feels more like an adventure for group of people that …

I think this is the better game for having many separate towns, compared to the first one. One cn set up trade routes between them to make sure everyone gets what they need. Each area has its own specialties in terms of resources. I like the exploration and the looting of the areas in between. One can play as one likes by turning off many negative aspects like bandits, etc. I prefer creating my own game within the …

Sorry! As ever, this is the bits and pieces of news I’ve spotted that made me smile, or made me interested, so I thought they’d fit in nicely here. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It should have been a warning sign when the dev's of a supposedly 'successful' first release had to go the Kickstarter route to get funding for the game. I was dumb so it wasn't as big a warning as it should have been. So now we have a 90% completed game, a dev that's gone, and a game that won't get finished or any bug fixes for the future. I've played and paid into a lot of early access games and this is the worst scenario I've seen (usually because I wait a bit to buy in). Lesson learned,…

neutral · AI labelView post →A fraction of the city-building the first one has in exchange for some fairly basic Anno multi-colony mechanics. Developer studio has dissolved, so this game's done cooking to less-than-satisfactory quality.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like many others, I did not enjoy this Anno–Endzone hybrid. And I say that as a big Anno fan. The core idea is that you must set up multiple settlements—each offering only certain resources while lacking others—and then connect them with trade routes. In practice, this turns into a constant chore of waiting for resources to arrive or endlessly fixing supply bottlenecks. Exploration suffers from the same problem. Each location requires different tools, but your explorer can’t carry them all.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game on sale being fully aware that publisher closed the doors. I played first Endzone and I'm a huge fan of city builder/management games. Played all the Annos, Cities Skylines, all Tropico, pretty much everything on the market. My first impression was: this is not bad, idk what people are complaining about. Yes, it is not like the first game and borrows a lot from Anno games. But that's not really the problem. The problem is that it has challenges of Anno without the solutions…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's 2025 and the game is probably designed with 1080p monitors in mind. If you are playing on a 4k monitor smaller than 40 inches, 110% upscaling is nowhere near enough. The fonts are also all bold, which means the edges are much harder to distinguish, so my eyes vote no.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sad that i cant give a neutral score so i am putting in a negative review. I like basically nothing of the added stuff. The trade routes, the zones, the raiders, nothing seems to latch with me. Its all tedious and time consuming. You want to automate everything but you never succeed as theres' always a production halting somewhere that you need to take care of. You cant focus on running expeditions to gain the knowledge to proceed because you have to micromanage your resources between…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first game and after seeing that Endzone 2 had mixed reviews I hesitated to give this game a try. After getting it on sale, however, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy it so I can give it a try and see what the sequel offers, what it does better or worse than the original, and see why people don't like it. Before I start, I understand this is EA. So take what I say with a grain of salt, and perhaps what I say may change or be removed later down the road. So I can only give…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked the first one. Was more open in terms of building and how you want to build/research. This is VERY limiting and has become more of a factory simulation, building Tetris simulator, than a rebuild after the end of the world game. Very disappointed. Biggest issue is the storage buildings cannot hold enough and are a pain to manage this crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yea I liked the first one better. This is so similar to what they did with frostpunk. Took a great formula city builder and turned it into a tiresome resource manager. I do not like this version. I guess I'll go back to endzone one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After a brilliant first game, pity to see the devs butchering the game like this. I would have gladly paid the full price of this game for a DLC of the first game instead of this nonsense. When will devs learn: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. This is a big dump compared to End Zone: A World Apart.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game is better by miles, not sure why they went this weird game direction tbh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had intended to wait for the game to exit early access; however, it has come to my attention that the developers are discontinuing their operations entirely. Despite receiving a range of reviews, both positive and negative, they were unable to sustain the necessary follow-up to support the game's ongoing success.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL; DR: Anno fan - absolutely have to try. Colony sims fan - try it, it's good. Endzone 1 fan - check other reviews. I had serious reservations about trying the game after all the reviews, but when the price dropped below the point of caring I finally decided to buy. Only to see a competently built city builder/production management sim that is very similar in gameplay to games in the Anno series. Change the theme to post-apocalypse, have "zones" instead of islands, simplify production…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm 3 hours in and something is just not clicking with me, I'm sorry. As someone that's put almost 200 hours into EZ1, made numerous youtube video guides, gotten all the achievements, bought the DLC, and donated to the kickstarter for this game, somehow they missed the mark with this one. -The pivot on expeditions was way too heavy handed. It makes me feel like I should constantly have attention on my vehicle, which just takes me away from what matters in my town. Once you arrive at one of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The difference between Endzone 1&2 is similar to the difference between Frostpunk 1&2. Much less personal, you see a lot fewer faces and a lot more numbers. The individual workers don't matter so much as the numbers they represent. I don't mind that so much so i'll give it a thumbs up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a lot more work, can't recommend as is. Issues: 1. Exploration vs economy. Game consists of two parts: simple exploration and simple city builder. They are too loosely connected. There doesn't seem to be a way to automatically pick up materials a city is missing, so I just ignore those except for the rarest ones. You can clear initial sector of the map without building a city with the only exception being bridges - you need education there. 'explored' facilities outside city limits like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They took everything that was great about the first game and overcomplicated it. What could have been a great sequel was hampered by overreaching vision and a lack of forethought that ultimately resulted in the closing the studio that made it. Gentlymad crashed out about 8 months ago and the game badly needs tuning it will never receive. Stick with the first one, you'll be happier. It's a great game. This one is unfortunately not.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had great potential but company has shut down, so no further development. the game had some neat ideas and huge potential but within 30 mins of game play had multiple major bugs that likely make the game unviable. A pity as great potential and some neat ideas. The game Logic " And now you die " moment is also poor game design, imagine a radiation spike, sickness, sandstorm and drought all hitting at the same time. It simultaneously destroys your colony (EVERY BUILDING totalled) in need of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This new updated version is totally unbalanced. Not worth the time and effort to come back. The drive for "new content" has overtaken the need for quality of game plan,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved the first one and I wanted to love this one too. I played far enough to have three outposts. I think they made some smart choices in simplifying the gameplay so that having multiple locations would be manageable. The main problem I had is resources felt very unbalanced. Mines consumed tools too fast, and the resources needed to make radiation protection was also too high. I had three workshops making tools, and it wasn't enough to keep two mines running in an area that had 4…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first one was great, why do we always have to reinvent the wheel ??
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game is dead, developer is gone. Game is still buggy and was rushed to 1.0. Unfortunately no further development is planned. It would be interesting to know who gets the money when you buy the game now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone 1 is better than Endzone 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok. So. Here's my two cents to it. I know it's early access, so I'm not gonna swing at things thats probably (hopefully) going to be updated like the whole food-thing, unclear balancing of resources, sucky voices on expeditions, no joy in playing more than a few hours etc etc. So I'm gonna swing at the big picture. I love EZ1. LOVE. So I was very excited for EZ2. To put it mildly, you missed. If you (devs) wanted to make an Anno game, you should have applied for a job where you would make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone 2 had a lot of potential, but its is buggy and abandoned by the developers. That being said, It feels unfinished. Buy only if on sale, save often.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all a good game - it had a rocky start in early access. They have just added raiders, and they have made quite a few QOL improvements. There are many more still needed however. Unfortunately this is where we get to the 'not recommended' marking - the studio has just announced it will be shutting down. This is a great shame, as the game had a lot of promise. But I cannot recommend anyone new buy this given that it will receive no further support/patches and no further content (both of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the 1st one; this feels like a step backwards. The idea of building on platforms are nice but it's more of a struggle if you want to build large cities. The amount of building types and building variations are extremely low. The production of resources is completely unbalanced where you already build the maximum amount of cloth production and you are still in the red.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. Not sure how this is even mixed, its a downgrade over the previous game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't like how the map is set up - having to drive around and do the little missions. Only having specific places where I can build. I don't like not having the freedom to build where and how I want like I had in the original. I feel like they should have just kept improving the original instead of totally changing the gameplay. It feels like a totally different genre, not like a colony survival city builder. If you like all that kind of stuff, that's wonderful. Personally I like the first…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Begrudgingly giving it a thumbs up. Developers: For the love of all that is holy, shorten the tutorial. Just spent 5+ hours on a TUTORIAL. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tutorial is garbage. You have to build your settlement FAR FAR away from the resources you need. People keep dying and I cant unlock any buildings to stop it because the one key NPC needed to progress died without any notification.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked, Endzone 1, you might not like EZ 2. EZ1 Expeditions used to be fun and exciting, EZ2 expeditions are tiresome, boring, and distracting. Launch and forget an expedition in EZ1, wait for arrival to destination. EZ2 - drive around manually, disembark, can't pull planks in Tutorial and doesn't tell you why. I haven't gone past tutorial and I don't think I will continue. Some ideas make some sense, like resources (swamps, clay), but having to build trade routes and establish different…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I quite enjoyed the first one and was very keen to see the new changes with the second one. the change to exploration and additional settlements allowed for a much greater strategy. I wish many more people would give it a chance, it saddens me to hear the publisher is closing down.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The theme and type of game seemed right up my alley, and the price is reasonable, annnnnd it is not a game for me. I've played plenty of post apocalyptic / survival city management games , form Banished to Frostpunk and plenty in between. It was simply a miss for me. I requested a refund because after 30 minutes of playing (with a pause to eat in the middle.... yikes), I couldn't find anything to like about it. The resource gathering/production side of thing felt too extensive for no reason…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the original game and I backed this one on Kickstarter. It's a fun and challenging game (if you tweak the settings to your playstyle), perfect for those who are fond of resource management games. The developers changed the mechanics a bit from the first one, so this feels closer to Anno but as I adore that game, this is a plus for me! Excited for this to finally leave EA and have its full release!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing 1 (long) game until the task was done and starting, but not finishing few other games, I must say that I like the Endzone 2. It has its flaws of course and the biggest one is that developers won't be supporting this game (the company closed unfortunately). I was sceptical about leading multiple outposts and towns but I liked it. Not as much as I did leading only 1 town in Endzone 1, but I did like it. Playing longer games doesn't feel as rewarding as it does in the beginning. You…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really loved the first game but the Anno transport route mechanic is annoying and not fun at all, I like the exploration with the vehicles and it have potential, I would rather have a building that links settlements and they start sharing all resource and population and leave the vehicles for exclusively fights and exploration and make more interesting mechanics there for them that require different types. Just finished the tutorial but I don't feel like playing when I think about having to set…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not *awful*, but quite far from good. Mediocre graphics, very poor performance for that, and a UI which is obfuscatory and inconvenient to navigate. Add on to that gameplay that felt dull with too many non-useful interruptions, and a design that felt like it wanted to be too many things and it is hard to recommend when there are so many games available. Just my view, sorry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update 8 1 2025 I've tried reinstalling a few times...going through tutorial mode, survival mode, etc. This is ... not Endzone. I dont know what they were thinking but this is terrible. Maybe next game will be better, but this is bad. Sorry - I just dont get it.... =================== What the heck did they do to this series? OMG this release is AWFUL. No way. Absolutely not. From the start...the tutorial is completely out of wack asking you to build something that is dozens of hours…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm in two minds... ITs something new and different and I half like it. But its too far different to the last game and I dislike it. Basically, the game encourages you to make one major settlement and a number of smaller ones. Each of the settlements has pros and cons. A smaller settlement may have fertile land but no room and is dedicated to only growing food. A bigger settlement may have room to expand... But nothing else. I actually like things this far, I play enough of Tropico 6 to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had a number of problems, many of them bad design decisions to try and make it seem an evolution of the first one. Others simply the bugs that crop up during development. The latter should of been eventually dealt with, the former maybe yes, maybe no. But the real problem is one that all early access games have in common. Developers saw EA as a source of funding, when it's anything but. It's to give players a peak at the game and possible feed back as the game develops. I get it,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is more of a different, upgraded version of Endzone than a sequel, similar to Frostpunk 1 & 2 in that regard. You balance multiple settlements rather than build just one in this one. This is less straight-forward city builder (stick with Endzone 1 if you prefer that) and more experimental. For instance, the first stage of the play-through is more about mini-game puzzles while exploring and launching new types of expeditions, while late game is more about logistics and raider combat. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game when it was on sale, I was curious to try it. After a short time in the tutorial I have since stopped playing the game and will uninstall it. 1. It plays like it was designed as a mobile survival game that has been ported to PC. The tutorial is slow and laborious. 2. When loading the game up or pressing the esc key in game, you are presented with adverts for the developers other games. There is no way I have found to remove these. As a result, game deleted.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't get all the negativity. It's a fun game! Very sad to see this developer go out of business.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly tried to get into this game. It's too much of a chore to play. For instance: Trade routes are advertised as "automated", but you have to manually delete overage goods. You have to divide your attention from settlements, to driving a little car around to perform quests. Not to mention the UI is horrible organized. TBH, I enjoyed the original game much more. Way too much micro in this one.
