What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 278 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (3,220 of 3,958 positive).
Many players compare Everwind to Minecraft, Hytale, and Valheim, praising its airship base and exploration. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game is promising but lacks content and polish in early access. [4][5][6] A few players report game-breaking bugs, though some were quickly fixed by the developers. Not yet... I feel like I'm missing something but I find the game pretty bland and boring after a few hours. The traveling from island to island gets old pretty quickly and then it becomes atedious time padder. The biomes are really small and not that interesting. Most of the stuff you find is boring crafting materials. The enemies aren't all that diverse and the weapons and gear is uninspired. I have been forcing …

No coop for me, no friends, but based on my single player exp the game is pretty much what you're expect from stuff like Minecraft and Hytale, WITH dungeons and more mobs to kill and instead of a stagnant base, its your floating airship that acts as both your ride and your base. I honestly feel it's more than what Hytale offers because there's more looting, gear drops, mobs to fight, and exploration. For me Hytale …

20 hours deep and this game is a blast, if you enjoyed Minecraft, valheim or Raft this game will fit right in with your library and you'll have a ball. This has all of the bells and whistles as your typical survival game but the mix of different biomes and verticality make it extremely refreshing to explore, consistently keeping me on for far longer than intended. It's definitely early access and still has things it …

Very good, but it NEEDS quality of life! Pros: #1. Open world, from the start of the game #2. Ship building is flexible and works well Cons: #1. Tiny inventory. This is the BIGGEST issue with the game by far. The inventory needs to be increased by atleast 300% #2. No crafting from storage. This is the 2nd biggest issue. It wastes an enormous amount of time because the game doesn't have crafting from storage. #3. You …

60 of 382 · most liked firstRepetitive. I tried to get my money’s worth and make my own fun, but most of the systems in the game cancel out other systems. Makes it pointless to engage with most of them. Wouldn’t recommend buying. I have some feedback for the dev though: Rewards: The game is fundamentally unrewarding. Dungeons and POIs especially. You spend 30 minutes clearing a dungeon and get nothing from it. Even worse: dungeons might end early if it doesn’t have enough depth in the island to spawn fully (Suggested…

Editing seeing as some do not understand why tethering hurts this game. It limits freedom, Agency. And while i am glad a dev responded to this. I will hold my review till changes go live. pss my review will stay as is until i see how well it functions from other players. till then it stays.

We are very much a hunter/gatherer kind of couple. He likes combat, weapon upgrading, and machine building. I like home building, recipes, etc. This game intertwines both elements so well with hints of a fascinating story that we are trying to slowly piece together as we play. We spent one Saturday playing this for literally 11 hours straight. It is VERY hard for me to sit and play a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems pretty fun so far, but missing a few key ingredients to truly make it competitive in the survival/exploration/RPG genre. -only 4 player max?! it's killing me that you've made a beautiful proc-gen universe and only 4 players at the same time! -No dedicated servers? Up the player limit (see above) and let's get some basic dedicated servers rolling -crafting doesn't pull from local storage. rookie mistake IMO....allow crafting benches to pull from any storage container on your ship…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like this game, but wouldnt recommend it right now. kinda reminds me of how i felt about Raft when it came into early access. Its a good start but it needs like 2 years of content and QoL updates to become an actually amazing game that i would recommend. Im excited to see how this game develops
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game is not bad and the graphics are outstanding, the dev's have really not added anything other than their personal love for capybaras into the game. I would of rather give a neutral recommendation, but Steam doesn't give one that option. Trying to find the elusive Capy Merchant is exhausting and I've now gone to the dark side and see it as my mission to remove all capybaras from the Islands I visit. Yes they were generous enough to include more enemies to fight with little more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been wondering why Everwind hasn't received more reviews since early access launch about two weeks ago. So I've decided to throw my voice in the ring in hopes that it might help other potential players make an informed decision. Everwind at its heart is a survival/crafting sim and with that I think comes some, perhaps unfair, preconceived ideas about what the game should or should not be. It's also an early access title and that carries with it its own connotations. This game isn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game start is the same as the demo (which they should have left active, as it was quite good). So I feel like I've seen enough to know what they've got cooking. Which is a nice higher detailed Minecraft w/ QoL improvements... and airships. The basics are decent. Controller support is in already and is nice to see. I hope they continue to work on their quest system and develop a compelling story rather than it just ending up another procedural sandbox. For sure worth a try if you're into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd recommend wishlisting this game for now, but it's a long way from being enjoyable. The thing that makes this game differ from similar games is a great idea: you don't have a fixed base, you build a floating fortress and travel around with it. However virtually all the game elements including said floating base need a huge amount of refinement. Playing it doesn't feel satisfying. There are tons of things to loot, but virtually all of it isn't useful. After 27 hours I have 8 full large…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has some potential, but there are two major problems that needs adressing for now : 1- The progression To progress in the game you need to craft better gear and upgrade your ship to go higher. For that you explore islands and clear dungeons. LOTS of dungeons. Dungeons currently are very repetitive and not really rewarding (some of them are very long to clear and dont even have a final boss / chest at the end, making them a complete waste of time). In addition, the only way to craft…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Note that this refers to the early access version as of 2026-06-07 - if you read this later, things may be different! This game does not have a story, yet, so right now it's basically like Minecraft, but your base is a ship and you fly around with it. There's combat, there's loot and yes, there are Dungeons. The game's mechanics do work well and the whole thing is really promising. Still, in the current state of the game, most gamers will really miss some kind of a reason to play. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I jumped into this with no idea what was going on, so let me run down the pros and cons so far; PROS: Airships! - Your entire game is centered around being able to fly around on an airship. Its completely customizable. You'll see a lot of people complaining that its slow or something, but thats because they haven't built a ship properly. More parts like engines and balloons, will increase speeds. Balloons increase lift speed, engines increase thrust. Combat - I was surprised how well the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunding for now - I see the game has a lot of love put into it but there's just the glaring fact that the game feels like a shell right now. I also want to REALLY call out that this isn't "Minecraft with airships", which is what one would assume by looking at the trailers. Unlike minecraft, building structures on land is a chore/grind, and is largely pointless as the core loop of the game is to just drift and go from island to island looting and killing. Once you've cleared an island…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great looking block sandbox game with airships! I would give a 9/10, but, it's just too early and there is not quite enough content, polish and game modes yet. So for now, 7/10. The Good: 1> Ability to build your own airship and design it with almost no restrictions. 2> Islands with their own biomes 3> Sky Islands everywhere! 4> Combat, strangely very good, the enemies are predictable but actually try to put up a fight The Great: 1> Graphics and atmosphere look and feel amazing, it's so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the time of writing, I would not recommend Everwind to anyone. While I think it has potential to be a fun game, at the moment it is too bogged down with issues that make it an overall tedious and unrewarding experience. Pros: - Airship mechanic is fun and encourages you to have a moving base, which is novel compared to most other games in the open world survival crafting genre, and makes it feel worthwhile to invest in making your base cool and functional - There's a transmog system…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I want to like this game. But as it stands, there's stuff out there that's similar (though people will profess and fight tooth and nail to disagree) that does a lot of the same things, but better, or using mods to make the experience better. To be frank, in the state the game is currently in, I would not recommend it. There's some glaring flaws and features that seem missing compared to even the most obvious inspiration for this game: Minecraft. First, let's get the good/fun out of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good, Worth giving it a try. I had a serious problem and gave it a Do Not Recommend, but the Dev fixed the problem almost instantly proving they listen and care. So now it gets a thumbs up from me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam has got to integrate a new review system for games. People being upset over an early access game playing like it's in.... *early access* and then review bombing it is actually crazy to me. Especially considering the game is a gem so far and feels great for the most part. There are some stutters here and there but it's to be expected in an early access release. The graphics are nice for a game of this style and the game is really pretty. There are quests you can pick up from villagers from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Positives: - tutorials are good (you aren't just dropped into nothing and have to figure out everything yourself) - the music is good (i really like the peaceful parts...somehow reminds me of skyrim) - atmospheric graphics / visuals - weather changes dynamically (in my opinion this is a very good mechanic as it can change the atmosphere and vibe of the already quite atmospheric game) - good simple combat (it's not soulslike or anything, but it does it's job) Negatives: - zero…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is deceiving. While it has mechanics that are pretty fun and a decent crafting system, you SHOULD NOT play this game with friends. Co-op being early access is an understatement. The game works fine in co-op in the early game, but once you have upgraded your ship to move faster, traveling breaks the game for all the non-host players. It caused many crashes and made the game unplayable for until a full reset of the server. One of our players even got their character fully removed,…

Ended up jumping off the island and collecting skulls on ground level. Returned to my ship and it was clipped into the island completely. Lost all progress and my ship. Can't switch ships because Im stuck in here too. and cant teleport away. Completely hard locked my save after this update. I like the game but it has too many bugs that are Game-breaking. Edit: Devs fixed bugs within a day. Got some help…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to enjoy this game, I really did. 8 hours of running around, the structures and enemies doesn't have good loot. There is a rune system, but you can't get enough shards to create even a single rune for quite some time. The combat mechanics are lackluster. The skill tree is almost useless. The recipe system seems nice, except you have to be very lucky. They could add something where you can learn how to make those items by disassembling them or smt. A big example are arrows. Almost 10…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game doesnt have common systems now expected for survival games. No block or workstation rotation button. Its all movement of your character will rotate the item. No Craft from storage. No way to pickup blocks on your ship, you must destroy them which can take up to 5 seconds per block. No way to repair blocks. If you are destroying a block to replace it, but you click a little too longer, you now damaged the next block. Simple systems not in the game does not make me want to continue playing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea is there, but the implementation is frankly not for me. I hate the fact I spent money on this game. I enjoy survival crafting, the flying concept is beautiful, but this game does what all survival crafting games do. Excessive grinding. ESPECIALLY the system for finding the 'recipe' to craft items. It feels like a chore just to play the game. I'm sure others enjoy that, but I do not want to launch a game to relax just to feel like I'm clocking in for another shift. My experience is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is truly amazing, but... It was a long time ago i did enjoy a game as i do with Everwind and i'd like to recommend it, really do (i even bought the Capybara Edition to support its future) but it feels a bit empty. The core mechanics are amazing and flawless and it's an Early Access title so expect things to change, get better but for now i can't wholeheartedly recommend it. It has an amazing "tall roller coaster" experience with the "wow, you can do this, you can do that" but after…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game honestly feels like a mix between No Man’s Sky, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Sea of Thieves which is an amazing combination. I’ve also played Hytale, and if I compare them, this game is truly my gem. There’s something special about it that just clicks for me. It makes me feel relaxed while playing, but at the same time it keeps pulling me in with curiosity. I always want to explore more, discover new places, and see what’s around the next corner. If you enjoy that sense of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like building and exploring without having to find a way back to your permanent base, this is where you sink your teeth into. Keeping it under a buck? It's very bare bones as of the moment. You'll definitely need to put in some time (and unsurmountable effort) to create your flying monstrosity, explore islands, and be creative in finding ways to be better at the game. Don't let it fool you though! That's the reward in and of itself ─ exploring and finding better ores, gears, and how to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: This game is a mixture of Portal Knights and The Raft - though both games did the respective parts better. I purchased this game during a 10% sale. If after reading this review you still want to try it, wait till it's at least 50% off. Review: I'm only just over 4 hours in at the time of this review, so probably not a 'fair' review, and I do plan to play it more to see if my opinion changes... However, in the first four hours what you can look forward to is this: Pros: + Cool and well…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game says RPG & Sandbox, but it's pretty much just a sandbox in its current state. There are only a few quests to start out with, then that's it. There is no ultimate goal, no more quests, you just fly around from island to island falling asleep between, since the ship is slow to begin with. Then from there you're just crafting things you find recipes for, but to what end? The game is extremely boring currently, I would wait until release to get this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played many survival crafting games and this games progression path and scaling has to be one of the worst. magic is terrible compared to melee and ranged aside from the costs for recharging staffs. multiplayer is not just a little buggy but unplayable towards the endgame with the lag and game breaking bugs. one of the bugs completely reset my character made it so i could not jump and could only move while crouched. I cannot remember when the last time i reviewed a game but if your…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep your head in the clouds There's something captivating about getting lost in the clouds in your airship. Seeing distant, massive lands and wondering what could possibly be waiting to be discovered. I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Everwind is launching in great shape. The gameplay, graphics, and the sense of exploration are all fantastic. As you level, the game world really starts to open itself up to you. The higher you rise, the more dangerous and complex the world becomes.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has potential, but at its current state do not buy it is not worth the $20. I would wait a year or two and come back. The game is 80% flying from island to island that sometimes are 10x10 blocks wide with a 1 skeleton. In order to get from island to island you are spending 10 minutes. All in all, the game is just not fun and boring majority of the time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd have dreams of something like this, ever since I was young. And when Minecraft came about, I eventually built my first airship. But of course, it just sat there in the air. I still imagined if I could travel aboard it. As for Everwind, I'm hooked. It's like the offspring of Minecraft and Skyrim, but something makes me think of 7 Days to Die as well. For being so new a game, it feels well-made, even on my decade-old laptop. Biomes are alive, with fauna, alchemical flora, and weather that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had me go into a 12 hour shift off of 3 hours of sleep because I got so locked in 😂 if you wanna fly around on a ship, see a beautiful world, beat quests, and raid dungeons with the boys, or just relax and have a calm night. 10/10 recommend. Hope this game goes the distance!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Hytale and Raft combined is the best way to describe this game I feel. Ok now for some issues/nitpicks I have with the game. - Progression is not clear at all, nor your goals. - Apparent weight limit on your ship that isn't stated anywhere. - Lag spikes when the game tries to load all the islands at once, rather than individually. - Rotating objects is really awkward, as it's based on the direction you're facing, instead of a direction we can choose. - This one's more of a nitpick but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game it self is fun. Exploring the islands is fun. The combat is good and well done. The bosses are challenging the current game is 7/10 at current version if you are playing Warrior I still do not recommend mage gameplay at this current version The mage gameplay is horrible. The loot is purely RNG based and only way you get new staffs or books (expt goblin mages rare book drops) is from golden dungeon chests, so making a firemage or frostmage etc. is really difficult and skillpoints…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game and jumped in after a long Hytale addiction and coming from that, my first impression wasn't good. By comparison the player characters look fugly, the movement feels slow, and everything looks and feels "weird" and not minecraft-like at all. The actual building mechanics are very slow at first. When you break blocks you don't get other blocks you can put back down, you get rocks, planks, globs of dirt that you then have to craft into blocks. It feels like the game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I never write reviews for things but this game claps. Survival, Building, Open World, RPG are really the main games I play and this tickles every one quite well. There's also a ton of little unspoken features that takes a lot of tedium away from the player so they can focus on upgrading and building their ship and exploring. I also really enjoy the slower progression that promotes exploring and dungeon delving to improve your weapons, expand your ship and expanding the characters creative…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As I am writing this review, the game is on version 0.4.515, so yes, it is early days for Everwind features wise, but the game feels very solid already. I have not noticed a single bug despite playing it for more than 30 hours. I Kickstarted the game and I am glad I did because the concept is really cool and the execution is top-notch. I mean, picture this: you build your own airship, fly around, explore islands, craft stuff, and combat baddies. Oh, and the game looks fantastic already. Yes,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's like they finished the tutorial tower and the rest of it is just an empty alpha. The airship really isn't all that fun. The Worst thing was realizing it's a UE game. it was alright to begin with but when you get out in the world and things are moving theres blur/ghosting and weird light glitching all over the place, it looks like ass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game during the demo and was unsure if I liked it. I ended up giving it a chance upon early access release and on the surface nothing has changed since the demo, only the artificial world boundary is gone. It's probably a fun sandbox for kids, but not a good long term adventure RPG at the moment. Other than the ship flying, there are no novel mechanics to set this apart from existing voxel crafting games with RPG elements. I haven't made it to 10 hours and probably won't. This…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does this game has potential - YES. Does the concept of the game intrigue me - YES. Do i recommend it at the moment - NO. And here's why: I think the core gameplay of the game is very refreshing - you clearly notice what inspired it but that's pretty cool for me. Nobody needs to reinvent the wheel, eh? Still some basic features lacking make it quite tedious to play for me (I like to build aesthetically pleasing stuff) & my friends. Details of my critique down below ... There are some…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First and foremost- EARLY EARLY ACCESS. Mileage may vary but at the moment you can reach a point where the 'EA' aspects stick out- such as progression items that do not exist yet etc. I THINK IT'S VERY GOOD, JUST MAKING IT CLEAR lol Now the game itself scratches some unexpected itches which has been really nice. Some 'exploration' itches where you'll just be flying around looking for any island that looks neat to go to- and some sea of thieves 'just vibe and sail' itches as well which were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Disclaimer: I play offline so play times are inaccurate.) I just want to start this review by saying Everwind is an absolute recommend from me, no hesitation. But I think it's important to understand just what kind of game Everwind is before flying into a review. No, Everwind is not Minecraft with airships. It's a block game that shares many mechanics with Minecraft yes, but as I see it the intended experience is very different. A typical game of Everwind goes like this: you begin. You…

I love survival games and minecraft type games, but I could not enjoy the game loop .. I can see what they are trying for... i.e. there are random equipment upgrades and skills coming.. but it takes so long to get to each island.. and maybe there is 1 useful item on said island.. maybe none.. meanwhile…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Minecraft meets Wind Waker? Hytale with airships? Everwind is Steam's latest big early access release, and it could be a winner with time. neutral · AI labelView post →Recommended for sure, but... My main complaint is that Items need to be more USEFUL, STRONGER and EFFECTIVE. I hate it when games do this. Don't be afraid to make the player strong. An example of this: An arrow that decreases enemy attack dmg by 0.8% (Wow amazing) There are hundreds of examples of this with armor, weapons, runes and potion. Very few items are worth anything. After almost 50 hours, I'd say I've just dropped 99.9% of the items I found on the ground, and have over 20 full chests…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cant recommend at the moment. After playing similiar block games, the movement feels limited and janky. Having to jump up every block and not being able to climb really limits your movement. Update after playing more - You can swim but cant swim down even though the map is full of water and the islands have caves with water in them. I get thats not the core gameplay here and should be flying on your ship but why have caves on the islands filled with water? Limits exploration of the islands.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since the game is more goal-oriented (with quests and objectives), I think it could afford to have a bit more of an explicit story. Minecraft is all about figuring out your own goals, but in EverWind I would have wanted to know who the big antagonist or game purpose is.
neutral · AI labelView post →Very exciting first few hours, very promising game. As it stands right now Everwind’s core gameplay loop is addictive. Exploration, crafting, and building is all intuitive and nice. The fact that there are meaningful skill investments on top is something else entirely. The airship you make FEELS like an airship. See something in the distance? Set course, fly, and upgrade/build while you’re sailing across the skies. It reminds me of Raft if you actually mastered that piece of wood rather than…
