Exoprimal is a 2023 multiplayer third-person shooter game developed and published by Capcom. Several players express disappointment that Capcom abandoned the game despite its potential. [1][2][3]

exoprimal had so much potential, sadly it died shortly after its launch cause a lot of players gave up on it to quickly which resulted in capcom giving up on it as well and for them to also not continue updating the game which is a damn shame. i love exoprimal. its such a fun game and i put so many hours into it. i really wanted to see this game thrive. my problem with the game now in 2026 is that its pretty much …

You know the crazy thing? People don't like this game. People look at this, a spectacular dinosaur killing game, and say that they don't like it. Muppets, if you ask me. Yeah, please, go and play it right now. It takes a while to matchmake, as there is a lower player count, but it still has real players (me being one of them). It's not a hard game to get into, at all, and the tutorial is more than enough to get the …

A solid game otherwise that live serviced too close to the sun. I grabbed this for $10 expecting to dislike it knowing that it's essentially on borrowed time and man... I've had a blast. This really could've been a wonderful arcade multiplayer game but the need to make everything a forever game was the albatross around it's neck. Still leaving a recommend because I find it so fun, but be aware development has ceased.

I was surprised that this game is actually pretty fun. It's like a hero shooter but with mech suits where you race against the enemy team to finish objectives first while clearing out enemy waves of dinosaurs. It's baffling how they never bothered to market this game. It had potential. I guess it's too late for it to ever grow much of a playerbase, but on the bright side it's perfectly playable as is. Queues can …

60 of 353 · most liked firstIt's worth mentioning that not all of Capcom's experiments have been hits! Kunitsu-gami was excellent but didn't sell much, and Exoprimal was a fun game hidden behind terrible marketing, confusing in-game messaging - Did you know it has HUGE setpiece boss fights and story? It kinda hides those away.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Friends and I had such a mid time playing Exoprimal that, desperate to feel something, we downloaded EDF. I've never experienced such a powerful feeling of "oh this is what a good game is like"
negative · AI labelView post →I will always love you, Exoprimal. I hope Capcom makes you free to play one so everyone can enjoy you the way I did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEFORE READING: Please note that I am a fan of the aesthetic, gameplay, and exosuit genre in general. Just keep that in mind, please. This game, and every other exosuit game (I'm looking at you Anthem), breaks my heart in several ways. They always get so close to achieving greatness, yet their business decisions and terrible practices ruin the experience until their game crumbles into dust. I like this game's look. I like this game's gameplay. I like this game's animations and "feel". What I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An amazing game, it was really downplayed when it released so people just didn't even bother with the game or simply quit because they saw a battlepass (and store buyable skins + classes wtf?) which not gonna lie i hate that it has to be in every single game nowadays, but i guess helldivers 2 did it and people don't seem to complain. Exept for the fact that you can get the battlepasses for free by just playing that game so yeah... :P Anyways game is very fun, good gameplay loop of fighting…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Speaking of Capcom's experiments, Exoprimal is currently £8/$10 for the next 24 hours. There's usually enough players around cross-platform to keep it active, but if not, the bots are shockingly good. Round-based PvEvP hero shooter stuff but with a story & features that unfurls as you play matches

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thankful and not want or expect something more. After all he’s in such hits like Exoprimal and the Funkopop game, our cup runneth over. Don’t question just consume. Oh well whatever, I’m honestly getting to old and have more important things to worry about than to care about the lack of MM games

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh hey, Exoprimal is on sale for $10 if you wanted to experience the most radical leftist game Capcom has ever made and likely will ever make. store.steampowered.com/app/1286320/...
positive · AI labelView post →An incredible game that capcom decided to intentionally sabotage, and is now dead. The fact that this game never got TRUE crossplay pains me so much. The different platforms can only play together with random matchmaking, you can't set up a party to actually play with your friends. They promised this update, but ended up only adding it in private matches. They did all of the hard work already!! The netcode is great. They just never added that tiny feature that lets you make a party with…

neutral · AI labelView post →very fun game, but it had like no advertising and died pretty fast, meaning that there are almost no players anymore (like... consistently under 50). this lead to it not getting a whole lot of content, even after getting collabs, so it's not worth your money unless you're willing to buy it on sale and play with a few friends for a bit. there are like two modes and a handful of maps, and the loop is really fun, but there is little-to-no rng with actual dino spawns, so it gets really predictable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Exoprimal's leaving Game Pass next week. It's going for just £10 on GMG, I noticed. Underrated game that did a lot of funky things with multiplayer structure, with the story, modes and game mechanics unfurling more as you progressed, eventually culminating in some properly Capcom bosses.
positive · AI labelView post →Between Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy XIV, and ExoPrimal, I am having wildly different experiences every time I game and I love that for me 🤣🥰
positive · AI labelView post →Played it completely solo and found it quite enjoyable. Very much a modern arcade game with an entertaining story mode. The setting is fun, the gameplay is smooth and the end-credits song slaps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everyone who skipped out on Exoprimal missed out on hearing Casey Edwards' best track of 2023 (as well as Capcom's most overtly political game).
positive · AI labelView post →Austin recommends: Exoprimal…but not for $60 (Review).
neutral · AI labelView post →All I'm saying is no one is an asshole when it comes to other dead live service video game Exoprimal.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite this game dying pretty quickly on release and being a full priced game with a battle pass, I had a very fun time with this and was hooked on it's easy to pick up gameplay, class based teamwork and just the simple enjoyment of surviving hordes of dinosaurs round cool locations. What really dragged me in though was the way the story was told and it was a very interesting one. If you're worried about it being dead, there are bots that fill positions (and they're pretty decent as well) so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really struggled to decide whether I wanted to give this game a try or not. The mixed reviews in combination with the low player count on the steam charts made it a hard choice. I decided to give it a shot and hope this small and ''early'' review will help you decide it for yourself. In general I recommend buying the game (especially right now on sale) and just giving it try for the first 2 hours. If you like it in those first 2 hours, chances are it's gonna stay this way. Find the game…

neutral · AI labelView post →Ever since RE2 Remake I saw tons of people say that a new Dino Crisis would do wonders on the RE Engine since it's just an RE game and the release of Exoprimal absolutely made people think more abt Dino Crisis since that game has so many overlapping similarities
neutral · AI labelView post →I don't know how you could make a MECH battler game with DINOSAUR hordes as enemies and somehow make it completely un-interesting, un-engaging, and overall very boring to play. The mere idea that ANYONE wants to follow a bunch of markers, stand there and shoot things, then move to the next place where you shoot things is simply baffling. The combat takes place in the space of a small apartment, there's no point in the massive over-worlds in each section, and the plot makes me think that there…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, kinda yes at a deep discount and if you, like me, enjoy dumb games. But at the same time, the game is so stretched out that I lost interest mid point. The game itself is fun, but it's limited by the "always online". The game will become unplayable any day now. The story and mission variey are padded, and you may be waiting for a match when there's barely anyone playing. Why not just let me play with bots and be done with it? Matches are filled with them anyway. There's barely match…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A potentially dumb fun game weighed down by questionable design choices to try and shoehorn in assymmetrical gameplay into a game that didn't need it, presumably to try and create a live service e-sport out of it. This could have been a fun free-roaming or randomly generated PvE game in the vein of helldivers about being a superhero that wears power armor to fight dinosaurs, and story and missions build off of that: Save civilians and get them to safety Defend monuments and citizen safe zones…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this a ton on PS. Been thinking about it a lot lately and don’t use my PS5 anymore, so got it to start fresh on Steam. This is one of the best things Capcom has ever done. So so SO cool. Such a great gameplay concept, and theme. I think the layout and how it can present its story can be a little confusing for some, but once you understand it, it’s super slick. Really wish this hit harder with more players, but I think it’s just a bit too awesome for general audiences. If you’re the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and carefree, something that feels rare in today's multiplayer shooter landscape. People still occasionally play it and while you may run into a lot of bots, the PvE is still very fun on it's own. Hopefully one day they iterate on this and double down on the PvE systems especially the 10 man boss fights with Rathalos and Yellow Devil as they are incredible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's Exoprimal. Kinda feels more like a proof of concept than a full $60 game, but, uh, it's a full $60 game. Unless you have Game Pass.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted Exoprimal to succeed, it's a fun game somewhere between Overwatch and Left 4 Dead, but asking for 60 dollars and then charging for a battle pass with quite frankly bad and ugly skins, then also holding out your hand asking for me to pay to unlock characters who are palette swaps with slightly different weapons is INSANE, especially with how little content the game actually has. This game could be revived with a major update or maybe a sequel could improve things, but I doubt…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay. The tutorial is about the only content you'll get. I spent ~1hr in the intro/tutorial and waited 30 minutes to find a public (multiplayer) match and found nothing. If it had players it'd definitely be worth the $10 I paid for it on sale, but in no way would I ever spend $60 on it, even if it had a huge playerbase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You shoot dinosaurs in exosuits and do some dumb stuff like time travel, fight a rathalos and fight a roided up t rex in a raid battle with 9 other players. Just play it already. But only on sale when it's like 10 bucks.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm writing this review late as I've just found out the game is stopping all seasonal content after season 4. No, this doesn't mean the game is shutting down. I received my code from Capcom, however I knew this is a game I was buying regardless. I made some content about the game and really enjoyed every play session I had with it. The game runs well, both PVE and PVP fights feel smooth and fun. Destroying hundreds of dinosaurs felt satisfying and the abilities of each exosuit made it even…

The game is overpriced for what is inside, I would buy this on a super deep discount with some friends maybe but outside of that i'd stay away.
