Review After 100% Achievements If you’re into creature collector games, this is a great addition to the genre! It has a cute, simple story with likeable characters and a neat gameplay loop. Play solo or online with a friend, fly around and seek a variety of beautiful creatures to add to your flock. The map is surprisingly big, featuring many unique zones which house 60+ creatures in total for you to find. Locate …

Flock is a charming and cozy creature-collector featuring a rounded (read: friend-shaped) world and delightful sound design - especially the chirps of the creature calls! I was especially impressed by the flexible implementation of co-op multiplayer, allowing players to drop in and out of each other's games seamlessly. You can even be at different points in the story and still join and contribute - very convenient …

This game is pretty good. The world looks nice and the creatures are unique while fitting into their little specie families. Yarn is really easy to get a hold of for more clothing and getting to pick names for your little sheeps is cute. What isnt fun is having to fly around the map to try and get one thing to spawn. It took me a couple hours just to get a specific one. I get that some are supposed to be rare, but …

Pros: breathtaking visuals, relaxation and silly critters, sign me up! Filling up the book with animals is such a joy and it never gets tiring and the final ,,boss" secret animals were great. Cons: storymode felt too short, it caught me by surprise when I saw the end credits roll

sometimes it's okay for things to just be nice. slightly finicky controls charming the creatures, but that only becomes a frustration while trying to 100% the game. weird that the titular flock doesn't seem to do much other than be present, but sometimes it's okay for things to just be nice. the world is an audio-visual joy. charming.

Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received "generally favorable" reviews according to review aggregator platform Metacritic. 79% of critics recommended the game according to OpenCritic. The Guardian's reviewer described Flock as relaxing and "endearingly strange enough to stand out from the herd", but wished the game had more content, as he completed it in five hours. Polygon enjoyed the game's art style. The bright, vibrant colors and "environments illustrated in patterned brush strokes" perfectly matched the world's whimsy. However, while the art style is beautiful, Hardcore Gamer called the gameplay repetitive and confusing, leaving them "scratching [their] head" while trying to decipher how to progress the game.

positive · AI labelView post →Apparently the solution to public outrage over Flock cameras is to replace them with a system that connects every camera, drone, dispatch call, and sensor into one giant police dashboard. Brilliant. We complained about Big Brother watching us, so they gave him a second monitor and a searchable archive.

All in high res that can FR somebody from a city block away. The ep gets into the post-9/11 climate that led to big money pouring into surveilence tech. neutral · AI labelView post →The first few hours of the game are fun, (when the story is rolling), but then it becomes an impossible grindy slog post-game to reach max bars with everyone. Especially certain 'rarer' species. The spawn rate of the big white ones patrolling the marsh are still abysmal and will take irl hours of searching, even after the reluctant adjustment made by the devs. There's very sparse customization if you were looking foward to that in this game. The starting birds are all there is, and there's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Season passes, in-app purchases and loot boxes have made every AAA publisher treat you like a thief for playing their multiplayer game. Kernel-level anti-cheat should be treated like it’s just as invasive as a Flock camera: they demand so much from you in return for so little.

positive · AI labelView post →Flock was a game that I was actually very hyped about, and it was…fun? I guess? It wasn’t really what i was expecting. Usually when i play an indie game, smt always sticks to me, for some reason flock didnt do it. For 7 hours i just flew aroud a pretty big map just collecting critters and while it is indeed a very interesting small experience, the price isnt worth it in my opinion. If you’re a tryhard indie hame player or just someone that likes small cozy games, check it out but only at sales

I play on controller and because of how my buttons are laid out, when I went to grab my controller to start playing, the button to delete your save file was held for a very brief period of time in which my whole save was deleted. No confirmation, no reasonably longer period of time to make sure that the user is really sure they want to do this. All of my…

positive · AI labelView post →too short, too buggy, at least for the price. the style of this game is adorable and the premisse of finding and collecting creatures is interesting, however, theres some issues with this game that sour the experience quite a bit. first of all the game constantly interrupts your doing and yanks your camera away for every interaction, which happens a lot and becomes annoying quickly. In a game where fluent movement is ever present, a sudden stop like that feels like you're crashing. I also found…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute, but janky. The automatic height while flying was very annoying at times, especially when I was too high in the air and had to fly around for a while to come back down. The speed boost "tunnels," "rings," or whatever you want to call them were also rather inconsistent. The camera was often too close to my character, and sometimes my character would be beneath the screen entirely. Co-op worked fine for two hours and then dropped unexpectedly. My partner was unable to reconnect to my game…

Gorgeous world, delightful creatures, luxuriously well-crafted movement & traversal. The perfect creature collector if you want to hoard & show off weird little guys based purely on how much you like them: no stats, no breeding, no leveling, just an entourage of your favorite goofballs and galoots swirling along in your wake. Plus they're all named silly things like "Bewl" and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fly around on the back of a bird and explore beautiful landscapes, while you charm and collect a huge variety of weird and wonderful creatures. There's a semblance of a storyline ('Burgling Bewls' have stolen Aunt Jane's whistles and you have to get them back with the help of Uncle Reg's sheep ... it'll all make sense, I promise), but there's a real sense of achievement as you gradually lower each layer of cloud to reveal new game areas and critters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And attend city council/committee meetings! It's drudgery, but (in the US at least) it's at city-level meetings that elected officials vote on whether to authorize contracts with Flock, Axon, and similar companies. Residents can typically register in favor of or against resolutions and can give public comment.
